Hi all. Apologies if this isn’t the right subreddit for this question, I couldn’t find anything saying this type of inquiry wasn’t allowed.
My 13 year old cousin has been playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends after school and has asked for “D&D stuff” (that was the full description provided by my uncle) for Christmas. I know a bit about it and played a couple times during undergrad but am struggling to find gift ideas that would be good for a teen. So far I bought a couple mystery bag dice sets that I thought were cool and would add a second surprise to the gift as even after unwrapping presents he wouldn’t fully know what he got until opening the bags. I don’t know what books he has or what figurines he’d like so was trying to stay away from specific items like that. I was thinking perhaps character and campaign journals but don’t know where to go for those that would be considered a quality journal so any suggestions for those would be appreciated. I’d also be super appreciative of any other ideas that would be good for teen players! Many thanks in advance!

a woman at my salon approached me around a month ago saying she would like to take her level four hair to around a six without using bleach. i attempted a test strand of a lifting color with thirty vol to see if it would lighten, when it didn’t budge that’s when she told me she had henna in her hair. to compromise to her situation, i ended up just doing an all over color to with a 5NN to cover her grey and blend her hair to one color. it’s been about three weeks since her service, and this week she called one of my managers to let them know that she was dissatisfied with her hair color, saying that she can see grey (despite her appointment being three weeks ago), and claiming that her 5NN color has gone JET BLACK. I tried explaining the concept of regrowth, and she shut me down completely. Claiming her hair color has gotten darker over the weeks rather than fading, it confused me. She complained over the phone to me that she trusted me and is very dissatisfied with my work, and was expecting a refund for her service almost a month ago. Although she said she was happy when she left, she’s no longer happy. My manager explained there is only a certain period of time we are willing to do refunds/fixes. She’s now scheduled for a consultation appointment just to discuss where to go from here, but honestly, i don’t feel comfortable doing anything else on her with the way she accused me of “ruining” her hair before complaining weeks after. how do i go about this situation, or should i overall just fire her as a client?

I was LIVID when she was insisting on giving Cal antibiotics even AFTER the doctors were like nah that won’t help. And then the audacity to get mad at Ben for “abandoning his family”?!!! Girl, you KICKED him out!
Clearly Ben is gonna get with the hot Doctor from the plane (thank god because fuck Grace and they have zero chemistry anyway), Michaela with Zeke probs but zero idea about why what happened with the plane happened

I met a girl through a matrimonial platform, and we clicked instantly. Both families met, and things seemed to be moving forward smoothly. Dates were about to be finalized when our discussions took a sour turn due to financial expectations.
Here’s some background:
- I come from a government-service background, while her family is business-oriented.
- She’s lived in Kolkata with her family her entire life, whereas I’ve been living independently in Gurgaon and Bangalore since graduation.
- I earn 3x her salary (my CTC: 70 LPA; hers: 20 LPA).
My philosophy is different:
- I believe we should buy a house together, as a family, using “our” money, and not necessarily within 1-1.5 years. To me, it feels unreasonable and rushed.
- She is okay splitting savings and common family expenses in a 1:3 ratio (considering our income difference)
- Her family has offered to bear all wedding expenses (~₹25 lakhs).
- Both families are open to pitching in toward a house, though specifics haven’t been discussed.
I like her a lot, and it’s hard to walk away. But I also don’t want to compromise on my principles.Do you think her expectations are reasonable? Am I being rigid? Or is this a fundamental values mismatch that could create bigger problems later?

My mom has asked me to research hearing aids for my dad (71). He went to an audiologist 10+ years ago but was told that OTC ones didn't work well and he couldn't afford $3000 ones at the time. Now my mom is tired of him not being be able to hear, so we're working to concvince him that it's worth the money but also that OTC HA have gotten better and more affordable since then.
So my question is -- is that true? I would think technology has improved and have heard good things about the ones at Costco. I do think he needs to probably get another hearing test since it's been so long, but it looks like you can do that at Costco. I feel like that's a better option than Amazon, but I know nothing about hearing aids so need some direction. My father-in-law has very expensive ones that connect to his phone and TV, and that is NOT what we need for my dad, who curses out Siri on the daily. Just something where he can hear a conversation at a restaurant or in a crowd, and so my mom doesn't have to repeat herself all the time. Help!!
