Hello. I recently stumbled upon this sub and thought to myself, ‘Hmm I’ve been listening to a lot of sick and twisted true crime stories in podcasts, maybe I can handle some extreme horror.’ The first book I read was from the pinned suggestions and was Three Little Pigs by Edward Lee. Honestly I think it was pretty good. Some very disgusting scenes but I got through it all in like two days.
I just started The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things and apparently it’s like a series of short stories (I think) and I read the first story, cried and closed the book. Part of me wants to keep reading out of morbid curiosity but another part is like, do I really want to torture myself?
Have you guys read this book? What did you think about the rest after reading the first story?

2024.11.30 00:59 Bhagwan9797 Macross Plus felt like a special experience
Over the past two weeks I have been catching up on as much Macross as I have been able to get my hands on in the order that they arrived to me. First Macross II, then Frontier (and both movies), then Delta, and now Plus.
I absolutely loved Frontier, it was such a gripping story and great characters. Delta was ok but felt like it went in way too long. I’ll revisit Macross II, but I don’t think I really care for it.
But Plus feels so different. So gritty and compelling.
It felt like a special experience to finally get to see it.
Part of me wishes there was more of it but at the same time am content with such a small portion if that makes any sense.

I’m just trying to figure out the best way to gain experience in the automotive field for I have always been interested in working on cars for context I have never brought my vehicles to a shop since I was 16 I am now 27 and have only owned two vehicles in the past 11 years. But for most of my work experience was either concrete, construction in general or in the food industry. With concrete I was a pump truck driver at my grandpas concrete company and would have to maintain or fix broken pumps and occasionally help fix the concrete trucks themselves (did this for a year) but I want to get my foot in the door in the automotive industry so I can work towards eventually becoming certified. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much yall

Look, I’m not gonna beat around the bush. I have an eating disorder that isn’t BED. I would personally classify it as bulimia (non-purging) type. Either way, I think the majority of users here suffer from a restrictive eating disorder, and then when they eat anything, their minds immediately go 🚨BINGE🚨, when in reality, it’s not BED. But I’m straying away from the point. I’ve had an ED for 15 years now. Starving, binging, purging on and off again for almost half of my life. Things got really nasty in 2021, from summer that year to December 2022, I lost 92kg. I was finally anorexic, both physically and mentally. I lost 5 more kilograms in the next 5 months by trading in my anorexia and bulimia for orthorexia. Shit hit the fan at the end of last year, and I started binging again, leading to weight gain. Then in May, I started starving myself again, not as much as I did in 2021-2022, but still. My routine is 3 days in a row without food, 4th day is tomato soup, and then the remaining three days it’s eating whatever I want. The thing is, after my binging at the beginning of this year, my cravings have calmed down a lot. Even on the days that I eat, I don’t binge. Sure, I go a bit over the top once a week, but it lacks the characteristics of an actual binge. Anyways, because of this and because of laxative abuse, I hit my breaking point today. I’ve had trouble pooping ever since May, but it got a bit better in October when I started eating chia seeds mixed with yogurt. It worked like a charm up until November. Then this whole month has been absolute hell. I think it’s important to note I’m quite active, I walk a lot (just this month, my daily average is 13.2km, and I walked over 20 kilometers for 7 days this month. This might not seem like a high number for some of yall, but it is to me). Somehow, I managed to go 6 days in a row without food last week. My family even commented on my alight weight loss, and I feel that my jeans are looser around my waist than they were 2 months ago.
I ate some tomato soup and a small sandwich on the evening of the 6th day. Yesterday, I ate some pasta with tomato and cheese sauce, and then half a pastry when I got back home. Chia seeds, too. I know it’s not a fiber-rich meal, but I was expecting to poop at least a little bit. I didn’t. I took 2 laxatives, and ate some chicken & veggies soup. Still nothing. Then I started losing my mind and eating everything in sight. My mind’s just going “You’re never gonna eat again, your body literally can’t do something as simple as pooping, you’re FUCKED!!!”. So I eat some savory pie with spinach and a side of yogurt, an ice cream bar, a bar of chocolate, a pastry, and by that point, I’ve already made up my mind about purging. So I reach for the potato chips, eat nearly 150gr of it and hit the town on the purge bucket. I went on for as long as I physically could. I truly hope I managed to get rid of at least half of what I’ve eaten during this binge episode. I’m still constipated, and IDK what to do. The first round of laxatives didn’t help, so there’s no guarantee another round will prove fruitful. I closed the night off with a banana and a shit ton of benzos so I can maybe fall asleep. This was a rant, so if you got through it, thank you. I’m not looking for advice, nothing anyone says to me could make me feel any better, cause there is no solution for my situation. I just needed to vent for a bit.

I mostly plan on using this for open world camps in BZ with some mist on the side. Which one of the two do you think is honestly the "better" of the two. I keep looking at both and I like the idea of on demand freezing someone, if I get ganked or fighting multiple people at once I can lock one down real quick...but frost staff can just keep applying tons of nonstop pressure with it's Q and E being pretty darn quick

2024.11.30 00:59 Outdoor_sunsoaker P0299 question on a 2012
I have a 2012 with 165k. Original turbo and wastegate. I live in Phoenix. Every April-May the CEL comes on for the underboost code. Every November-December when avg temps drop below 80F I can clear the errors and drive around for a week and the permanent code goes away just in time to pass emissions. I know I need a new turbo assembly but why would the cooler ambient air temps cause the under boost to clear given the turbo housing gets so hot and negates the fact that air temps are cooler? I’m assuming it’s the wastegate bushing that’s gone. The rings are toast and burns oil so I’m not interested in spending the time or money on replacing the turbo. It’s my first turbo car and I’m a little disappointed in the longevity of the rings.
