So I found out a couple weeks ago that I have a nickel allergy. Apparently nickel is in pretty much EVERYTHING (most foods, stainless steel cookware/silverware, shampoo/lotion, IUDs, medical staples etc).
One of the main symptoms of a nickel allergy is chronic fatigue. Has anyone else with a nickel allergy cut out a decent amount of their nickel exposure and noticed that your IH improved? I’m about to attempt to switch out some of my cookware items and try to cut out the high nickel foods as best as I can to see if this helps mine.
If you haven’t been tested for a nickel allergy, but you’ve ever had a piercing that was irritated by cheap earrings/jewelry, you are probably allergic to it. Oh and my allergist wasn’t concerned with my allergy, but when I told my dermatologist, she was the one who told me someone she worked with was familiar with nickel allergies, and they can cause different issues. My PCP also had no knowledge about what issues nickel allergies could cause when I brought it up to her. So it seems like most doctors don’t know much about this unfortunately.
I also have other issues that doctors haven’t been able to help with either, such as brain fog, joint pain, chronic chapped lips, GI issues, hair loss, vertigo, etc. And apparently all of these can be caused by a nickel allergy. It’s a crazy rabbit hole to go down.
Let me know if anyone has experience with this, thanks!

I have been interested in this case for awhile, but I haven’t researched into it as deeply as I have recently compared to previous years.
I'm not going to try to make any convincing arguments or offer anything new, and I am certainly not married to any one conclusion except that RDI, I guess I just wanna put my two cents in.
There is a theory that Patsy may have injured JonBenét's genitals more than once when aggressively trying to clean her after toileting accidents. I believe it was the housekeeper who said that on more than one occasion, she had seen Patsy take JonBenét to the bathroom to punish her for accidents, and she would then hear JonBenét screaming. (Please correct me if I’m wrong)
So, according to the evidence, prior to her murder, JonBenét had scarring consistent with chronic sexual abuse, specifically repeated acts of digital penetration.
But her hymen was injured over time and receded/worn down, which I would speculate means that she did not have repeated events of one simple rough traumatic insertion of a finger then withdrawal, but rather someone penetrating digitally continuously within one of several on-going instances of abuse over time. Essentially, raping her with a finger. I’m not a doctor, I really don’t know anything, but I would assume that if it were acts of a single traumatic insertion, there would only be tears in the hymen, but not the hymen being worn away like that.
I think that most people would consider this behavior seemingly more sexually charged than a single Insertion, that was an incident done more than once over time.
It’s speculated that Patsy might have injured her this way, and that during her roughly 'cleaning' JonBenét, she might have put her finger inside JonBenét, which most would view as unheard of and bizarre.
While I do agree that it is bizarre, as in irrational behavior, I definitely do not agree that it is unheard of. Mother-daughter sexual abuse thrives because of the belief that it is uncommon, and something that would require a vast amount of insanity, emotional disturbance or trauma on the part of the mother, something that one would assume Patsy is too functional to have that amount of. It is also supposed that a woman only sexually abuses a child on command of a man or in conjunction with sexual abuse on the child from a man (common, but certainly not the only way a woman perpetrates sex abuse)
Sexual abuse under the guise of hygiene when it comes to female sex abusers of children is remarkably common. In my time reading about the experiences of victims of mother-perpetrated sexual abuse, the mother using 'cleaning' pretenses to molest, rape and punish their child is the standard among manifestations of maternal sexual abuse, presumably because nurturing is what mothers are expected to do, and so it is a very easy and inconspicuous excuse for a mother to use.
From what I can tell, the cissexism of sexual assault and abuse being thought to be a strictly male, masculine or patriarchal type of abuse leads to mother-perpetrated (or otherwise female perpetrated) sexual abuse being ignored or outright stated to not exist; or to be so rare that it might as well not exist, an opinion that is shared by the court of law.
This gives women, especially mothers, societal free rein to sexually abuse their kids with no consequences. It seems that most people who suffered this type of abuse from their mothers don’t identify it as sexual abuse until they are adults, and usually from someone else telling them that what happened to them was not normal motherly behavior.
And in turn, I would assume that because of these biases, women are also less likely to consciously recognize their abuse as sexual in nature, function, or impact.
It really is not at all that unbelievable that a mother would digitally penetrate their child painfully during a 'cleaning' punishment. It does in fact happen. There are so, so, so many more people that experience this than we have the resources or the recognition to document at this time.

In fact, I would say that a mother doing that to their child as a form of 'cleaning' sounds very likely if we work with the assumption that female sexual abusers do not abuse for sexual reasons (which is not true at all, there certainly are abusers who do, but playing devil's advocate) because it would be more likely for a woman who was not sexually motivated in her sexual abuse to abuse as a twisted and sadistic form of 'cleaning' their child instead of intentionally performing an act of rape for the sake of rape.
Mothers obsessively 'cleaning' of the inside of a child's vagina (from my observations) is associated with other obsessive-compulsive, controlling physical grooming behaviors of the child.
For a woman like Patsy, who was very much enamored of JonBenét's physical appearance and who was reportedly fixated on controlling the way JonBenét looked (dying her hair, pageantry, photographing, arguments about what clothes JBR would wear, etc), 'cleaning' JonBenét internally seems in character.
JonBenét is Patsy's doll that she lives vicariously through. To her, JBR is a reflection of herself, and so it pleases her when JonBenét reflects Patsy well/ what PR believes are her own good traits, and displeases her when JonBenét reflects poorly on hereflects things about PR that she thinks is a flaw of hers.
If Patsy had childhood trauma of some sort as well, I could see the projection, enmeshment and attachment being more severe. If JonBenét were to reflect a part of her that she hated because she was abused and hates to look back on her own issues and what was done to her, especially if it were in response to Patsy herself abusing her daughter, then Patsy would lash out at her more cruelly. And if Patsy were specifically sexually abused in her past, it would follow that she would be more inclined to sexually abuse her daughter, perhaps as an attempt to process her own trauma or to normalize it within her own brain so she would feel it was more normal and not the terrible violation that it was.
For JonBenét to react to Patsy's abusing her the way she herself would react to abuse when she was a child would then make Patsy angry that she is being made to feel that she is just like the abusers who hurt her. She might take it as sort of accusation against her.
I agree that Patsy probably didn’t have a big problem with JonBenét's or Burke's accidents since she didn’t have to clean it up most of the time, and supposedly bedwetting runs in the family for them, but I also don't think it’s strange that if Patsy were stressed and forced to clean her own kids up herself, and/or JonBenét was doing other things that triggered her perfectionism and anger at her daughter's independence, Patsy would punish her for her accidents, presumably by taking her into the bathroom and hurting her intimately.
I'm not a criminal profiler or anything, but I definitely feel like the act of reaching inside JBR to scrape out whatever supposed dirtiness Patsy perceived in her could be symbolic of Patsy either feeling that JonBenét is inherently 'dirty inside' (a common feeling of SA victims) or Patsy feeling that she herself is dirty inside, and is trying to scrape it out in an act of shame and repulsion towards herself because JBR represents her in her mind. That sort of projection would make sense to me.
Without the sexual projection, I would see it as an act of cruelty just to hurt JBR out of anger, or perhaps a conscious or subconscious sexual motivation. (Also, sexual motivation doesn’t necessarily mean I’m saying that Patsy was attracted to JBR; perpetrators can be opportunistic as much as they can be preferential)
But then again, I haven’t heard of any internal scarring from the inside of JBR's vagina that would suggest scraping with a fingernail or fingertip, so maybe Patsy wasn’t scraping her, or scraping enough to do visible damage. Or maybe Patsy sexually abused her this way not during the aforementioned punishments. Or maybe her roughness with JonBenét irritated JBR's recurrent vaginitis, or perhaps it hurt because of prior digital penetrations, enough for her to scream.
Or maybe Patsy was physically abusing her in some other way that caused her to scream. Or maybe that account was exaggerated and/or inaccurate.
Really, I just wanted to validate survivors of this type of mother-perpetrated sexual abuse while also educating about how Patsy digitally penetrating JBR isn't that far-fetched.
If I got anything incorrect, please correct me! I’m open to additional information and discussion.
