I gave birth 4 weeks and 1 day ago. Today while showering I felt a string near my vagina. I absentmindedly assumed it was a piece of towel fabric, but when I went to pull it away I realized it was actually attached to my vagina (yay!).
I’m assuming it’s one of the stitches I got post delivery — I had 2nd degree tears in 3 places — but I also assumed those stitches would’ve dissolved by now? Also the string was white and thin like a tampon string, not what I assumed dissolvable stitches would look/feel like.
I tried contacting my doctor but of course they’re closed for the holiday weekend. My vagina is a bit sore and I’m spotting a small amount (probably from pulling on that string), but those are my only issues. Am I good to wait until Monday to talk to my doctor? Should I visit urgent care over the weekend?
