Hi all!
I’m a first time mum currently 2 weeks postpartum. My baby just will not settle in his next to me crib no matter how many times I’ve tried. The midwife said sometimes it can seem very big for new babies and they may settle in something smaller like a Moses basket. Before we bought one my mum suggested we use the carrycot on our pram like she did with me and my siblings. Oyster says it’s ok for “occasional overnight sleeping” (not sure why occasional?)
The past 2 nights I’ve put him in the carrycot and I cannot believe the difference! He falls asleep almost instantly and only wakes every 3 hours for a feed and nappy change. It’s the polar opposite compared to the next to me! I feel I’ve gained SO much of my sanity back. In the next to me, he’d wake every 30mins / 1 hour and that’s if he even fall asleep in the first place. It could be a 5/6 hour stretch of him crying and fussing. He’d only settle on me and I caught myself nodding off with him on my chest last week so now I won’t take any chances.
My question is, has anyone else done it this way? If so, how long did you do it for?

I 31F know that I have issues with being emotionally unavailable. I’m single again and have been attracting decent guys who tick the surface level boxes however I find the conversation to be quite boring.
The one guy that was probably the least stable, I felt I had the best mental connection with but he revealed that he was unavailable so before anything physical happened I ended this as I really want to find secure love and have a family!
Now I’m being pursued by a coworker 33M. Everything has been quite surface level so far and a lot of work talk. I’m afraid there isn’t much else to him besides loving food and sport .. but I’m also used to trauma bonding quickly with men and have never really properly dated someone on a casual basis. It sounded like a rat drowning- but almost like the rat enjoyed it a little bit. It smelled of cheese, peanut butter and cheap cologne. As our young motivator began to let out a screech of terror, our perpetrator looked up and stopped his actions. Saliva hanging from his mouth, and panting vigorously, The sucker looked at our young marine dead in the eye and said "welcome to the fleet, dickhead. Not everyone could get stuffed this thanksgiving. You never saw this." Then continued slurping like a dog on a bone. The young marine ran as fast as he could back to his duty hut, and pretended like he never saw a thing.

Aluminum 1800 keyboard dilemma
I need some help from anyone that has experience with these keyboards. This will be my first mechanical keyboard and I want something that sounds and feels nice out of the box and that I can upgrade later once I figure out what I like.
I really want a numpad with a full double wide 0 button and feel like I want a nice aluminum case. I have kind of narrowed it down to the Leobog Hi98 (maybe pro) or the Epomaker Galaxy 100. I would like to stay around $100 and want it to look nice but was planning to get a few sets of key caps so think I’ll stick to a white or black case.
It looks like there is this new version of the Galaxy 100 that looks great and says it even supports QMK/VIA which is a positive. It’s on preorder and now has a knob and doesn’t have the ugly star logo thing on the front anymore. It’s 3 mode wireless and the black on bronze looks pretty clean. Some reviews of the Galaxy 80 said the aluminum case maybe is a little “pingy” but sound clips sound pretty nice?

Alternatively I was goin to buy a Varmilo Minilo 98 but the shipping is insane at $40 and ends up making it over $200 and with a plastic case and not being very mod friendly I kinda lost interest. Also, The gold color is nice but not very versatile if I want to get some different color key caps.
I found this Hi98 pro that is wireless and the white version is only $65 on aliexpress right now which seems like a killer deal. Otherwise I could get it from a more legit retailer for like $120 and they don’t seem to have just plain white case and most of the Hi98s I see for sale are the non-pro wired version. I think this doesn’t support open source software and doesn’t have a knob but that’s not a huge deal.
