Recently I watched the 2014 version of Flowers in the Attic, and I have a question about the grandma.
Why did she freak out when the kids lead her into the stairs going up to the attic? She freaks out even more when they turn the lights off.
Does this mean she was almost blind the whole time, and without light she is totally blind?
Or
We all know she is insane, I mean look what she did to her grandkids, but she has the key so it didn’t make sense she that believed she was stuck there.
Or
Has she been locked up before? I’ve only seen the first movie and have never read the books so I’m not sure if this happened to her at one point before.

2024.11.30 01:50 dot_Chill I just witnessed an in store snatch and grab
I was at my local shop picking up a candy con controller and some Pokémon funkos for my nieces. I noticed some younger guy, maybe 20, with his hood up bantering with one of the employees asking questions about controllers and some other nonsensical stuff.
I went about my business browsing through the switch and Pokémon stuff. I think this guy was wasting time waiting for some people to leave because there were still some kids with their dad looking around. I picked out all my candy con parts and was in the middle of checking out, card in the reader. At this poont, is was just us 2 and the 2 employees in the store.
Suddenly, this stupid fucker jumped onto the counter and quickly over. He instantly started snagged things off the back shelf. I couldn’t tell what they were, but they were in a thin rectangular box. He got maybe 5-6 of them. I took a big step back to not get involved and once he realized no one was doing anything about it, he grabbed a few PS5 controllers too. He jumped back over the counter, said something along the lines of “sorry, thank you, i feel bad” and then ran off.
I couldn’t make this shit up if I tried! It was still quiet after he fled in a mutual moment of disbelief before I bursted out “what a stupid fuck!”
There were a few exchanges between the two employees about calling the cops while the manager disappeared into the back. I made sure the guy helping me was all good as he finished my order. I said “that was wild” and told him to be safe before going back to my car.
I felt so bad for those guys having to deal with that even though they are trained to do nothing and it never escalated. At least that dumbass didn’t get violent and just left with what he stole. I didn’t want to stick around for the cops to show up, but i did sit in my car in the lot for a while just processing it and reviewing my order.
I waited maybe 20 mins before heading home and the cops still hadn’t showed up. I imagine because it was a quick encounter and he fled, it want a priority for Chicago PD??

I can't think of any other champion in the game whose ability indicators/effects aren't visible for teammates.
How can you expect, or be expected to play around a champion whose abilities (main damaging ability) you can't even see.
QoL change just makes everyone's lives easier, anyone who doesn't play Kat, in a crowded fight, literally just wouldn't be able to tell what the character is doing ever. Making it harder for teammates to coordinate engages or CC with Kat daggers.
It also benefits low elo, or people who don't know what Kat's kit does.

2024.11.30 01:50 ObsessiveAboutCats Should I remove male flowers when that's all a plant is producing?
This fall I grew two varieties of cucumber and one of summer squash. I ended up with one cucumber and zero squash.
The cucumbers were supposed to be the kind that don't require pollination but I only got three or four female flowers at the very end of season when the plants were mostly dead (compared to boatloads of male flowers). The squash had normal pollination needs but I never saw a single female flower on either plant, so hand pollinating wasn't an option. Again I had tons of male flowers.
Would clipping male flowers off help if this happens again next season? I am going to source new seeds because now I have trust issues with these.
Any other suggestions on what else to do if this happens again?

We’ve had multiple problems out of this thing. But in all honesty momma is rough on it (no basic maintenance and switches gears while shes still moving) but today we was driving and it was fine at first but then it felt like it was stuttering or hesitating. We thought it was out of gas because the dash said fuel level low but she just topped it off 2 days ago as I’m typing this and didn’t drive it yesterday at all. My dad came and put a gallon of gas in it. Mom tried to drive to the gas station to get more but the car wouldn’t go. It’ll run and go into gear but you hit the gas and nothing. My dad tried it and said the gas pedal feels disconnected. He had me press on it while he looked under the hood and it wouldn’t even rev the engine. We checked the oil and it was still good so idk what the problem is a buddy told me it’s a fuel pump probably but I’d like to hear other takes on it. Also when we dropped it off at a shop my dad started it again and this time the fuel level low never popped up and the gauge worked (I say it’s weird the gauge worked because apparently it’s not been working for give or take 4 months)

Got a couple hot dogs from the grill I got them they felt cold so I said you put these on grill right (as I didn’t watch him the whole 20 mins it took) he just kinda ignored me until someone told me yes…. I got to the car they were cold… I didn’t go back I just ate something else but had anyone else has this experience? The whole experience/staff (minus dude on pizza) was awful does anyone else have the same experience?

Coincidentally my now husband was also at that concert. So the thing is I can't find anything on it or about it other than one person who marked that they went. Weet je waar ik mij de laatste tijd dood aan erger? Mensen en dan vooral bekende (rijkere) mensen die het oh zo druk hebben en dit moeten uiten. Jade Anna vind ik een perfect voorbeeld.
Meis.. als je zo moe bent en zulke lange dagen maakt, doe dan wat rustiger met alles wat je aanneemt en doet.. Dan verdien je wel wat minder, maar alsnog meeeeer dan genoeg om rond te komen. Ohnee dan word het laadje niet genoeg gevuld. Prima, maar hou op met zeiken en zeuren.
Geld niet alleen voor Jade, maar voor zoveel mensen. Je hebt mensen die 24/7 werken om van een scheintje rond te komen en mensen die 24/7 uur werken een kanon van bedragen binnen harken.. Heel leuk dat laatste... maar is het je teveel? Doe dan wat rustiger en neem genoegen met iets minder (samenwerkingen) en dus geld. Nee dat wil je niet? Niet gaan zeiken. Wat me ook stoort is dat deze types echt volledig het zicht op de realiteit kwijt zijn. Totaal niet kunnen relativeren en ook weinig gewend zijn.
Het betekend natuurlijk ook niet dat als je veel verdient je niet mag benoemen dat je het druk hebt, maar als je vanuit allerlei laadjes geld verdiend, dan kun je zelf kiezen hoe en wat je aanneemt. Zeggen dat je druk bent of haast klagen en oh zo oververmoeid doen.. daar zit een verschil in. En dingen uitbesteden betekend het geld delen. Je hebt meer tijd voor jezelf.. Ohnee dat is niet fijn, want minder geld. Prima, niet zeiken!
De oudere generatie die echt kei-keihard werkte en alsnog de dubbeltjes moesten omdraaien, die kunnen zichzelf wel uit ergenis voor hun kop slaan. Groot gelijk.
Nou ik ben reuze benieuwd of iemand mijn mening juist vind..
