2024.11.30 02:50 undeciphered_echo Liquid assets waiting period when switching from Jobseeker to Youth Allowance?
When I initially started Jobseeker earlier this year, I had to wait ~12weeks due to the amount I had saved. I'm hoping to start fulltime study next year so would move onto Youth Allowance. Does anyone know if transferring between the different payments re-triggers the assets waiting period?
Online isn't clear cut, as the website reads: "The liquid assets waiting period may apply if you're making a new claim for 1 of the following payments: Jobseeker, Youth Allowance, Austudy." No explicit mention of transfers, but technically I fear YA would be considered a new claim for myself.
Has anyone switched between payments without delay, despite having savings over the threshold (5.k for singles, 10k for partnered)? Thanks

2024.11.30 02:50 Confident_Green1537 Births with different weights?
I’m 34w FTM hoping to have an unmedicated birth. Last week my MFM measured our baby to be 6 pounds. Which means he could potentially be about 9 when he’s born. I know the estimates can be off but based on the fact that multiple measurements were taken by the MFM to get to the 6lbs and not just the 3 measurements the OB takes I figure it’s pretty accurate. Anyhow, my question is if anyone out there has done 2 unmedicated births with babies of varying weights? Does the larger baby hurt more? I would expect the contractions to be the same but maybe the ring of fire pain is worse?

2024.11.30 02:50 kennydotun123 Radagon and Marika actually Parallel Miquella and Melania.
We all know that St Trina was Miquella's shadow in some form. His destiny and what he was supposed to become, when he became a god. This has caused a lot of people to speculate that there is a parallel between Miquella and St Trina and Radagon and Marika, since Radagon was Marika's shadow in a way(although I feel like this is debatable. I don't doubt that they are the same people, and have been since like forever, but a part of me does not think that Radagon is Marika's shadow. I think Marika hid her or their shadows.) Let's start with Miquella and Malenia. Miquella is the golden boy, with golden hair, who sets out trying to make a utopia, a heaven where everyone could live happily. The problem is, and this is despite Marika's past. Marika wanted the same thing. The game is explicit but also vague about this but Leyndell was not supposed to be always golden, it was not the golden city and the Erdtree was not brimming in the lands between, the Erdtree would have looked a lot like the shadow tree (pre burnt), like an actual tree, Marika was the one who brought it down, she brought down divinity to the lands between so that the people there could enjoy the life and vitality it offered. Marika was not exactly a fan of death, one has to wonder why. One could even say that a lot of her atrocities(save the hornsent one, that one was personal), was done as a way to make way for this Utopia. She screwed up the order of things. Death or destined death, she sealed it and in doing so, people in the lands between never really died, their souls were just perpetually recycled, and because they were buried together, their essence fuses together and this means excess vitality, health and the other good stuff. Save for the horn part, or the mixing of life-forms she'd make sure that doesn't occur. It was all perfect. The issue with this is, if you remove a part of the system, from the lands between, it wont go away, and it came back, particularly through the cadaver of her son. Sickness, rot, something we all kinda need in a health bio-ecosystem, would re-emerge, blood, carnality, the thing that made us human, and was suppressed by the Erdtree would return through one of her sons, and the nascency, the sprout of new life, was held back and it cursed her other son. The things she had hoped to remove from the system in order for it to have become a better place, would come back and deeply haunt her. The DLC strongly emphasized that Miquella was on the same path as his mother. He wanted a utopia, he was on the cusp of creating one, he hadn't even gotten to it yet and he already had multiple atrocities in his wake, and like his mother, his ideal world would need to clear out certain things in the system for it to establish its place. He too would make the same mistake as the mother. This one is obvious, I don't need to tell you. But what about their opposites. Malenia and Radagon, they have more in common. The first thing is that, Malenia and Miquella are not even supposed to be separate beings. As a matter of fact, their abnormalities might even stem from the fact that they are one person split apart from birth. Hence why they both have empyrean status. They complete each other, but apart, it seems like a puzzle is missing. This is one of the reasons i believe that Malenia is to Miquella what Radagon was to Marika. But that is not the only thing, it was also the role they played. Malenia was Miquella's loyal blade. She fought battles on behalf of Miquella and she was fiercely loyal to their vision. One might even say to a fault. She is so much like her father. Yet there are traces of Marika in Malenia, like the refusal to give in fully, to the control of the outer god, and Miquella and Radagon, like their scholarship and intelligence. If these two pairs are parallel to each other, then where exactly does St.Trina fit in. I'm not exactly sure and this is the hole in my theory but my guess is St Trina was to Miquella what Melina was to Marika.

2024.11.30 02:50 Mantistobogganohyh Completely stuck
I’m playing bannerlord mount and blades story mode, I’m at war with the empires and I can’t defeat them. Every time I take a town and try to quickly move on to another, they’re already sieging it again. Brilliant.
None of my people ever make an army and do some fucking work. I’m left to do it all while the lazy c***s sit around drinking mead.
If I do retake a town and wait there for a while, the enemy see my army is too big and go siege another town instead. So it’s just this constant back and forth of bullshit. Probably about 20,000 people have died fighting for Jalmarys alone, and it’s a shithole.
How do I actually beat them? I genuinely go to work just to get a reprieve from this shit game

2024.11.30 02:50 SickCursedCat I hate having GERD
I used to love food, and cooking and going to potlucks and restaurants. Now I can barely eat, and it’s even more frustrating with the holidays. I went to my brother’s new house for thanksgiving because he wanted to host, celebrating his 2 year full sobriety. There was so much food! It all looked and smelled so good, I wanted to try all of it! Unfortunately, I only was able to consume a few bites of corn, and the smallest piece of meat. Today my husband and I made our own thanksgiving meal, including a small turkey. I’ve been trying to eat a small turkey sandwich (small because I have to eat gluten free bread) for over an hour. I fucking hate living like this.

2024.11.30 02:50 messoesso What do you need to wax your own skis?
My SO is an avid skier. He goes 2-3 times a week weather permitting. For Christmas I was thinking of getting him all the materials to wax his own skis at home since he takes his to a shop a handful of times a season. I’ve read it’s easy to do, and he’s mentioned wanting to get into it.
I know next to nothing about skiing so I’ve looked up various kits that all have awful reviews, and am intimidated by the thought of individually buying everything from various brands/stores and leaving important stuff out.
Would anybody be willing to drop a list of what you absolutely need to wax your own skis, and what are some “nice to haves” that make the process easier? I’d love to spoil him. Thanks!

2024.11.30 02:50 TheNerdChaplain Just beat Arkane Studios' Prey, from 2017 - My thoughts with some spoilers. TL;DR - it's like Dishonored meets Bioshock.
I was a big fan of Dishonored 1 and 2, and I'd put a few hours in back when Prey came out, but got sidetracked until a friend reminded me of it a few weeks ago and I decided to make a serious attempt.
Playing it was very enjoyable, probably mainly because I played on Easy mode. (Constantly dying or being near death isn't super fun to me.) I'm a sucker for Arkane's alternate routes, maintenance hatches, walking on ceiling lights, and sneaking around, and that definitely carried over from Dishonored. They made neuromods so easy to find or manufacture that I had two of the top three skill trees totally filled out by the end, and I was the biggest baddest thing on that station.
The story was interesting and engaging, although sometimes I had a hard time tracking who everyone was, especially people I only saw through emails, notes, and corpses. But getting a glimpse of the lives and doings of the people on the station was really neat, and added a lot of depth to the story. I thought the game was visually gorgeous, as it was a mix of art deco and retrofuturism with Soviet elements. In this alt-history, Kennedy was never assassinated, and went on to form a scientific partnership with the USSR in space.
The first time you see some of the aliens, especially the mimics, the Weaver, and the Nightmares is very chilling and impactful. It could be annoying backtracking sometimes - especially for the treasure hunt and smuggling quests - but definitely worth it. However, as I fled the station at the end having saved everyone I could, it was a little bit, "That was it?"
Alex turned out to be a more interesting and empathetic character than I expected, and I wish I'd gotten more time with him, or heard more from him. There was supposedly a dilemma between blowing up the station and deploying the nullwave transmitter, but I only heard a little bit of chatter near the end about it. I wish they'd spent more time on that. (Also I forgot to actually craft the nullwave transmitter, so maybe I missed out on some stuff there.) So as the credits rolled, I was left just a little underwhelmed, I thought they would have put more weight on my choices. There had also been a few scenes of mental flashes, but nothing that really led anywhere.
Then the post-credits scene played. Getting an achievement called "I and Thou" as Alex, Mikhaila, Danielle, and Igwe talked about the choices I did make hit MUCH harder than I expected. As usual, I'd played as morally good as I could. Honestly for most RPGs I think killing is a bad gameplay choice, because it cuts off any content that character might provide in the future, and that strategy really paid off here.
I'm going back now to New Game+ to see how the Typhon powers are - so far so good. However, being able to fully explore the lobby and hack nearly everything right away is pretty awesome. In games, I tend to prioritize abilities that a) generate more XP and b) let me access more areas, so being able to be almost fully powered (minus some suit and scope chipsets) is pretty great.
I don't know if I'll do another full "evil" playthrough, though I think I can get through it faster now than I did before, having done every single side mission - but I'll get through as much as I want before going on to Mooncrash.
Your mileage may vary, but I think $30 is a fair price to pay for this game, and anything less is a good deal. I spent 47 hours on my first run through alone.

2024.11.30 02:50 Dense_Local_3835 PLEASE HELP American exchange student being kicked out of Japan
This is my first time using Reddit. I’m so desperate and out of options I don’t know what to do with myself. Basically, I attend a program apart of a 10 month exchange student experience and my initial return date back to America was January 12, actually the 18th since my real family was planning on traveling around Japan with me before we returned home so I could show them around and experience new things. I was so excited to show them my language skills. In the past during my stay, I had received a couple “warning letters” and ”guidance letters” regarding certain mistakes I made like sleeping in and accidentally being late for school at the start of when I first came. When I first came, there was a lot of struggle and difficulty I had when adjusting. However, since then I improved drastically.
Ever since I moved in with my second host family (predetermined from the start, I didn’t choose to move), the new host mom has been very judgemental and sort of cold. All the times I received guidance warning letters had been under her roof, and not the first host family. When I first came, things were so nice with them but they slowly started to fall apart. The main problem I had was that anytime there was a slight issue, my host mom would report it to my exchange student program instead of telling the issue directly to me. This resulted in a warning letter issued by the program, combined with my oversleeping issue. The reason I am being sent home early after a streak of being good, is because I foolishly cut and hemmed my rental skirt provided by the school. the reason I did so was because when I was first receiving my uniform at the beginning of the year, I was told my the senpais and a English speaking teacher that maybe I could get my skirt tailored when I mentioned that I was unhappy about the length of the long skirt. I thought that this meant it would be okay to have it tailored since I was also having issues with the proper waist fitting.
Unfortunately, I was feeling risque on my birthday day and rolled up my already hemmed skirt by a little bit which my teacher noticed and reported to my host mom whose always out to get me and snitch. My host mom then talked to the school who talked to my organization. Then a meeting was organized on 11/25 where they discussed the issue with me and I tried to explain my side of the story since no one had mentioned it to them before. I thought this was just another one of those times I was getting in trouble again and once the meeting was over I thought that problem was over and done with. On Wednesday during class my parents messaged me and told me that the american program was informed by the Japanese program they were thinking of exterminating my program early. My stomach dropped and I felt so sick and couldn’t believe it. yesterday, it was official when they handed me the paper and I tried everything to stay and pleaded my case and apologized the best I could. However, their decision was final even though my official location coordinator couldn’t even attend the meeting since she had matters elsewhere.
I offered to pay for the skirt so many times yet they said this was considered a terrible rule broken because we’re not allowed to have short skirts and I should’ve known better than to cut it even though I was TOLD I could. Even though, my summer skirt PROVIDED by the school was even shorter than the length I cut my winter skirt to. I don’t know what to do and the fact they’re sending me home early when I only have a month left of my program and almost that entire month is break from school. I’m so unbelievably sad and in disbelief. I had finally made friends after struggling and being alone for almost more than half of my stay here. I don’t want to return to my family and let down everyone after telling all my friends and family I would be back januapry 18.
I feel like I didn’t do enough with my time and I would do literally anything to stay. Dude, I even thought about breaking my leg or arm or some so I could “heal” here or something. is there anyway I can find a way to stay even though they already gave the final decision? I’m so ashamed and just want to disappear.

2024.11.30 02:50 Blossomjay231 Help me find the title of this book please
Okay so I've been trying to figure out the name of this book. I hope someone can help me. I think it's a historical romance. The heroine is the daughter of a abusive king. The entire kingdom treats women poorly. The heroine wouldn't look people in the eye. Now I think the mother tries to escape with her 2 daughters and comes across a army that I believe is their enemy. The leader eyes the 2 girls and barks our orders and they started seperating the oldest daughter from her mother and sister. The oldest daughter pledges herself to the leader thinking he was gonna try to take her little sister. He took the oldest daughter and for some reason he pretended he couldn't understand her language. He of course ends of falling in love with the heroine and I believe he kills her father at the end. Oh and I think the main character's entire kingdom was blonde. Oh and the main character has a brother too who takes the sister of the leader of that army. I know it's all over the place That's everyrhing I remember about the book. Hopefully you guys can help! Thanks!
