I went to a dealership in NJ/USA looking to pay cash for a new midsize SUV.
I offered 25K OTD for a car listed at just under 26K. The dealer's first offer was 41K which was 10K over MSRP.
We missed out on the same car, options, color, everything that was listed in NY a week earlier and sold for less than 25K. Not sure if it was a setup but the dealer we were working with today tried to make it seem too good to be true. Like "Oh shucks the car was just sold, wanna see this more expensive one?" type of situation. I didn't think so because the dealer we saw last week was walking around all the lots looking for a car that had just been sold and moved to customer parking while the lady signed her paperwork.
Knowing that price and seeing this car listed at 26k I feel we made a legitimate offer. They had 5 on their site all the same price
Am I way off on my offer? I feel crazy that I was almost laughed out because of my offer, which is less than $1000 difference from list price, while they threw an offer at me more than %30 over the price of the car

I (22m) am currently living with my parents, but my dad recently got a new job and is moving out of state in probably 2-3 months, and due to school, I have to stay in state and find somewhere to live.
My gf (20f) said she is willing to move out with me so that I can afford something other than a room with 3 random roommates I don’t know. We have talked about how it will be stressful affording it, with my school, and with her wanting to start school. We have been together for 18 months.
Anyways, my gf currently had about 1000$ to her name. I’ve talked to her about how I’ve been stressed about needing to move out, thinking about getting a second job even with school, etc. My gf spent 750$, plus owes her mom 750$ for helping with the down payment, and owes the place she bought the puppy from 1500$ in a loan.
I was not happy in the slightest when I found out that she owes 2200$ for a puppy that she hadn’t talked to me about at all, and now currently has about 200$ to her name, while I have to find somewhere to live in possible 2 months, I have about 4000$ to my name, but most of that if not all will have to go to my school (just the way the loan works, it’s not college).

7.5 years ago I turned a gaming rig into a to an unraid server. 1080ti, 4x 8TB gold drives, 500gb SSD cache. Big ass case. Lots of noctua cooling.
She’s been a champ but after 7.5 years including some hard gaming and some crypto mining in there I think I’m on borrowed time. I’d like to do a full rebuild. Last 4-5 years she runs Plex media server pretty much 24/7.
- New case. Need it to be mainly focused on HDD space really. Easy to swap drives.
- 2x cache drives. Probably 500gb or 1TB.
- 4-6x 16TB HDDs (good brands to go with here? Used from serverpartdeals?)
- Which mobo and CPU? Currently have AMD Ryzen.
- GPU I probably should retire the 1080ti - or just keep it for the transcoding?
I understand the process will take some time but I do want to get this moving. I’m disabled with a terminal illness and I want to get this done while I can still use my hands.

I’m fairly certain I had a package stolen in transit today. We were supposed to be getting a package with some Christmas gifts in it. That package had a hand written label on it with our name and address. Instead of the package we were supposed to get, the handwritten label had been removed and put on a new box, new label printed, and shipped to us. Inside that box was a sweater that was supposed to be being returned.
Pretty sure there was some switcharoo and our package is gone. The sad thing is it was some hand made gift bags and some baby clothes so it wasn’t anything even worth taking but the things inside were all wrapped in gift wrapping so I’m sure someone might have thought there was something good in there.
The customer service people are no help though, telling me the package is still in transit. Is there anything else I can do and how long does it take for them to decide it’s not going to show up?

I have my PS5 connected by HDMI to my TV (Samsung - UN43MU6300) I have a soundbar (Samsung - HW-N550 Powered 3.1-channel sound bar with wireless subwoofer). This is connected to my TV by an optical audio cable, but i think I could use an HDMI cable if that makes a difference. And I have a wireless rear speaker kit connected as well (Samsung - SWA-9500S Wireless surround speaker kit for Samsung sound bars with Dolby Atmos) So I guess that makes the entire thing a 5.1 setup? I don't know. I included pictures of my TV settings menu so you can see what my options are with that. I’m not much of a TV guy but we made some upgrades to our living room and we want to get something nice. We game a lot and are creeped out by burn in and the room has some sunlight so I think we are candidates for mini-LED over OLED.
Obviously the 9 will be better than the 7 and I’m sure we’ll be able to see a lot of that in store this weekend. But aside from the initial impression with demo content what should we look for while we try and assess if the 2x increase in price is justified for us?
For reference we have a 46” Sony KDL 1080p that I bought at clearance outlet 10 years ago.

I’ve been having a hard time getting this information or understanding how this works and my S1 hasn’t really been informative. All I know is that you have to be attached to a unit for 30 days consecutive or non-consecutive for it to be awarded.
I was TCSd to Iraq from my unit 160th SIG BDE in Kuwait. I was there for 7 months. But my orders state in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. And I fell under the LNEC (Local Area Enterprise Center.) that covers the whole base or supports majority of units and foreign forces.
Am I allowed to wear this ribbon?
