I’ve tried Craftoria, All the Mods 10, and StaTech Industry, but I can’t find a pack that satisfies me. Craftoria and ATM 10 are overwhelming and too easy (free vein mining and teleportation and no or almost no custom recipes). StaTech Industry is fun, but I love to explore and mine, and I can’t do that with the changes to ore gen.
- 1.19.2, 1.20.1, or 1.21.1
- Tech-focused pack, not skyblock. Has at most one big magic mod (Botania excluded as it’s a tech mod).
- Polished and not bloated. I.e., I don’t want many mods that add the same or similar things. I’m fine with a lot of mods, but there should be a purpose to them.
- Custom recipes/items are appreciated but not required.
- Contains Mekanism and Create. Optionally Ender IO.
- Contains Tinkers’ Construct or Tetra (except if it’s 1.21.1, where they don’t exist).
- Quests preferred but not necessary.
- No vein mining (right off the bat; vein mine enchantments/tools are good).

TL;DR: Currently have an HD 598, love them. After 10 years, it's time for a real upgrade.
When I bought the HD 598 10 years ago, I felt like they were my first "real" headphones, like a veil was lifted. I am now looking for a real upgrade.
An open-back wired headphones for up to $500.
The 6XX are quite cheap and have good reviews, but I fear that they are not a sufficient upgrade over my 598. I am also considering Hifiman, but have heard they have quality control issues.
I'm really open to suggestions.

2024.11.30 05:26 gunslingster My terrible experience with HOA
When I was 26 in 2022 I naively purchased a condo in the LA area. The place seemed nice, and there were a lot of units (180), so I figured that with so many units the fees would stay reasonable and what not. When I moved in the HOA fee was around $250. About a month after moving in, the fee got raised 20% up to around $300. This wasn't too alarming, as I figured it was because of inflation. Another month or so later the entire place was fumigated. This was frustrating as we had to evacuate the residence for about 2 days just after moving in. They also charged a special assessment, somewhere in the range of $250 per unit. This was also pretty alarming, since I didn't really know much about special assessments at the time. It was a red flag as it meant the reserves were probably very low. After this there was about a year where everything was going pretty smoothly. Then a new board was elected. One of the first things the new board members did was cut the 24/7 security guard that was on site. They most likely did this due to mismanaged finances. Shortly after cutting security, the mailboxes started getting broken into. Not just once. They got broken into around 10 times over the span of 2 months. I also had a bicycle and motorcycle stolen over the span of about 6 months. All this theft starting occurring after the new board got rid of security. Around the same time an emergency special assessment was voted on for the roof, and I had to fork over $4500 right around Christmas. I was absolutely appalled, as were many other people who lived there. The roof could have easily been repaired instead of a full replacement. I did not have time or energy to be an HOA board member. At this point, I was completely fed up with how the HOA was handling things, and decided that my best option would just be to sell, and take whatever financial loss. I put the place up for sale in 2024 after 2 years of ownership. Luckily I got a reasonable offer, but while in escrow I get another notice for a $1200 assessment for balcony inspection and repair. I just throw my hands up in the air and fork over the money. There is no way to get out of special assessments as they must be paid before the sale. Living there and being part of this HOA was the most stressful living situation for me by far. The HOA completely ruined it with mismanagement. I do blame myself as well since I do not due my due diligence on this specific HOA and their financial situation beforehand. The entire situation caused mental and financial stress. I do not recommend HOA to anyone.

I have not yet read the whole thing yet because I was obviously side tracked by a small discovery I made and wanted to share, but this might be something that some people already knew, but didn't really know why?
Histidine decarboxylase - is the enzyme that transforms and produces histamine. It's the ONLY pathway to creating histamine in the human body. But with a little bit of my own research it showed that this process can actually be blocked to prevent the production of histamine. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a way to block histamine in the gut, other than waiting and using DAO to destroy it? There is.
This histamine synthesis can be blocked by two commonly available molicules found in food:
Eugenol - from clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and basil and bay leaf.
Epicatechin Gallate - from Green Tea, buckwheat, and grapes
It also can be blocked by chemistry, but these options are not generally available to us, thus not nearly as interesting: α-fluoromethylhistidine (α-FMH) - Chemical compound histidine methyl ester (HME) - Chemical compound
I do find it interesting that anything with Eurenol in it I seem to react very strongly to it. With Epicatechin Gallate the only one I can even tolerate is the Green Tea, but it's really 'not my cup of tea', because I can only take so much of it.
How about you? Do you have any cross-the-board reaction issues for these products with the natural compounds?
Just curious, but I need to get back to reading.

At the end of September, I started covering a grade 3 classroom until the rest of the year. Until this week, I was too shy to mention anything as I’m a new teacher but I spoke up today about spending my own money buying stuff because there was nothing in my room. Admin told me to go into a room that wasn’t being used and and take whatever I needed as it I had nothing in my room (pencils, erasers, scissors, nothing). They were shocked and so confused why my room was completely empty. I went into the room and had a mental breakdown. The teacher I’m covering took everything from the room and hid everything in the closet of that room. I know it was her stuff because they were labeled with her room number. My kids have been fighting over basic essentials that they need in class like scissors and I go and see that there are nearly 50 scissors just sitting on the shelf!! I understand if you spent your own money on things but come on, you’ve got to be kidding me?? All the manipulatives that we use for math, all locked away in the storage (Base 10 blocks, shapes, number lines, clocks, etc). For months I’ve felt like a failure because I was just using use pen and paper since I had nothing else to teach Math with. It’s ridiculous that some teachers feel entitled to stuff that were purchased with board money. Please don’t be that person - take whatever you purchased home if you’re going on a leave, but you have absolutely no right to take stuff away from kids that were purchased with board money. Safe to say I will be talking to admin to tell them what happened and thanking them for letting me finally have resources to teach after months of just crying every day because I felt so incompetent.

2024.11.30 05:26 GlenElephant Plex + Synology + HDHomeRun - cannot detect live tv tuner
Just upgraded to the lifetime pass and I am unable to detect my local HDHomeRun when attempting to "Set Up My Plex Tuner." All devices (NAS + HDHomeRun + this computer) are connected to the same router. I can watch live TV via the HDHomeRun app on this PC, in fact just watched the end of the Georgia / Georgia Tech football game, and I've had no problems direct playing various files from my NAS to devices throughout the house.
But I cannot get Plex to detect my HDHomeRun even if I manually enter the IP. It's like it doesn't exist to my Plex Server and I'm totally lost. I just deleted all my various database files in vain hopes that'd solve something based on some other Reddit posts, but to no avail.
Have I turned every device off and back on again? Why yes, of course.
Anyone have any ideas?

2024.11.30 05:26 RelativeDouble4479 BO6 MNK is terrible
After hitting crimson in ranked in BO6 I personally believe BO6 has been one of if not the worst cods to play on MNK. I thoroughly enjoyed MW2019 and MW2/MW3 even though the AA being completely broken in MW2 with AA locking on through smokes yet I was still able to look past it.
Let alone BO6 being mid on its own with its extremely poor map visibility such as Derelict being covered in over the top foliage and not being able to see clearly into buildings from outside due to lighting/shadows this plus the player model visibility makes it ridiculous to see. Alongside majority of the maps being complete dogshit with some of the worst spawn mechanics I've seen in a COD in awhile. As well as the TTK being inconsistent half of the time due to bad netcode, it nearly made me believe in Skill based damage.
Playing BO6 MNK I actually felt at a disadvantage compared to controllers. I completely agree both have their pros and cons with AA on controller and MNK flicking and better pinpoint aim it felt equal. But with the firing visibility such as visual recoil bouncing up and down alongside the excessive smoke and muzzle flash it makes it unnecessarily harder to take fights at distance or impossible with iron sights. I have barely used any optics in past CODS as I like having that attachment slot for something else but in BO6 it seems like its a must do for majority of the weapons. But this doesn't seem to be a big issue for controller players as AA sticks and and helps guide them during strafing so regardless of the visual recoil, smoke and muzzle flash they don't have to adjust. Majority of my complaints come from me getting blasted by a controller player using a Jackal and any smg/rifle for that matter and watching the kill cam and seeing them see a nametag, ADS and shoot and half the time I cant even see my player model that their shooting at in kill cams as the visual recoil is bouncing up and down. Majority of the time their not even paying attention to my player model all their doing is paying attention to the nametag aiming in on it and letting AA do the rest. And the controller only settings do piss me off a fair bit for example controllers having the ability to turn dive off but MNK don't. Half the time I want to dropshot but end up just lunging forwards or sideways and learning to let go of WASD to stand still to dropshot just doesn't seem feasible. All this combined just makes it feel like I'm at a complete disadvantage in a gunfight when vsing a controller.
I play with a friend who's a controller main and has a KD of 3 and he turned off AA to see what it was like for a couple of games he averaged negative for most of the games or barely scraped a 1 KD and refused to turn AA off again.
I understand COD has been and will always be a FPS made for consoles as that's where 80% of their sales come from and they will most likely never fix these MNK issues as they have increasingly gotten worse over the past few CODS. I am wondering if any other MNK or controller players feel similar or is it just me.

I was never a strange person. I was quiet, mainly focused on school, and would talk to my friends and acquaintances, but somehow I become labeled weird despite me doing nothing wrong. I always hate talking about my high school experiences because their are people who truly believe you have to do something wrong to not be like, or be outcasted, or bullied, but in my case I did not wrong…except exist. I didn’t know at the time I may have been autistic. I struggled with eye contact, was often met with silence when say perfectly normal things, many people would weaponized these traits and make it seem like I did stuff on purpose, so they created a rumor saying I was ignoring people on purpose when in reality. I was just socially awkward. People would then ignore me in social settings because I struggled with eye contact.
I was a person that smiled a lot and I always acknowledged everyone, so as you can imagine, I was stunned to find out that was a rumor. It just kept circulating despite not being true
It was the most painful experience of my whole life because I was dehumanized completely. I was treated like and object and even though the school was completely aware of what was happening they did nothing to combat the issue. Teachers were aware, they did nothing, I even had a teacher ridicule me for just sitting in my chair.
This experience taught me that my existence isn’t acceptable. It doesn’t matter if I’ve done nothing wrong if people believe I have. I have such severe trauma from this experience that everyday I’ve relived it.
This bullying at my school had went on for 5 years. When I graduated the same people would still bully me. In high school, I recall find ways to end my life because I couldn’t take it anymore. I would be sick all of the time from stress and often stay home from school and just tell my family I was stressed when in reality I was being tormented endlessly by people who just found a target to harass.
I felt so upset that my school never did anything about bullying this far. The rumors weren’t true, but every single day of school I was harassed.
