By embellish, I mean making your feelings sound deeper, stronger, or more poetic than they really are — saying “You’re the prettiest person I’ve ever seen” instead of “You’re so attractive,” or “I want to be with you forever” instead of “I think we have a good future together, short-term or long-term,” for example.
If I told someone I want to be with them forever, I’d feel like I’m lying because I can’t picture a relationship lasting forever, and there’s always the chance of things happening — us breaking up, seeing other people, etc. It feels like an empty promise. But neurotypicals who don’t struggle with metaphorical language or understanding feelings use these phrases all the time, without meaning them literally. It’s more about their own experience than what’s actually happening, and they don’t feel deceived. It’s more like pretend play than lying.
So, how can you tell if, when you’re hyping your partner up, you’re being sincere when you use figurative language?

Hi, according to the webpage below, if I am granted an initial work permit, I am also automatically granted an eTA. But my question is, if I leave Canada for a brief trip and then re-enter Canada (but still hold the same work permit), will I have to apply for an eTA again, or will the initially granted eTA cover that as well? Thanks!

While my question is about work permit, I guess the situation with a study permit is also similar. So I guess a common scenario in which this question is tested is when an international student goes home for holiday and then returns to Canada for the next semester.

2024.12.01 02:30 chiquitatarita Finally piecing this together after several design changes!
 | Saw this adorable Party Animals line and had to buy it to make a quilt for my brother. I couldn’t find the right pattern so I decided to just make my own. Started with a layout featuring 20 Ohio Stars and the rest the big squares and then strips. Changed the layout to need 30 Ohio Stars and got the brilliant idea to use flying geese instead of strips. I would need 80. Debated between two layouts but went with this one because the big blocks were impossible to cut with an even 1/4 inch seam allowance and still be 7 inches unfinished. The uneven white strip showing in the center of a big star was a deal breaker. Did a layout test when I was half done with the geese and found out I didn’t like the white rectangles on the border so I would need 100 geese. I finally finished all the pieces today, laid it out, and started joining. I know my brother will love it and the little animals crack me up. I’ll add a small border once it’s all pieced. Hey all! I thought I’d make a post here as an experiment. I’m a hobby photographer interested in photographing people and looking to expand my portfolio. I’m most interested in photographing portrait/lifestyle, maternity/pregnancy, and people with their pets (especially this last one)!
I don’t yet have an online portfolio but I’m happy to provide some recent photos for a shoot I did for a friend so that you can get a sense of my style (think dramatic, moody, cinematic, but also happy). Photos would be taken outdoors in our beautiful surroundings and the shoot would be an hour to an hour and a half. You would be provided with 50 (or more) high quality edited photos.
If interested in getting some photos done for free please DM me with what you have in mind and we can connect further. The only “catch” is that you’d be okay with me adding some photos from our shoot to my instagram once I get my page up and running.
