I rescued a puppy (now 4 months old) a month ago and she was really shy and reserved, so it's been hard to get her out of the house and further than the mailbox. Today though, I managed to get her out and we went for a half hour walk with my son! I'm not very fit, so this isn't something I would have usually done without her. I'm glad I got her, she's been really great for my mental health and she seems to be doing really well!

I’ve seen this odd repetition used a few times, such as “a crime is a crime is a crime,” and sort of get what it means but I don’t quite understand what the need for the last “is a [x]” part is. I couldn’t find a way to google this that actually gave me an answer, so I am here.
Doesn’t just “a crime is a crime” work? Why does it repeat?

So I'm currently a Shift Supervisor at my location and kinda want to do more here, mainly just to build up my resume. I'm the only Spanish speaker at my store and well I get called over tons when I'm working to go translate for the pharmacy, so I thought "might as well work here and get paid for it." Thing is, I'm not sure where to start. Can I just apply at an internal job posting for a pharm tech position and is there any kind of additional education I need to have like a college degree or something?

The question arose in a different conversation, and the rules seem to imply that you can do so.
True Strike reads in part as follows:
Guided by a flash of magical insight, you make one attack with the weapon used in the spell's casting. The attack uses your spellcasting ability for the attack and damage rolls instead of using Strength or Dexterity.
Sacred Weapon reads as follows:
When you take the Attack action, you can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to imbue one Melee weapon that you are holding with positive energy. For 10 minutes or until you use this feature again, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls you make with that weapon (minimum bonus of +1), and each time you hit with it, you cause it to deal its normal damage type or Radiant damage.
Thus, it would seem to me that True Strike makes an attack with the weapon used in the spells casting, and uses your spellcasting modifer for the attack and damage roll, and Sacred Weapon allows you to add your Charisma to attack rolls made with the weapon you've imbued with energy.
Is this the correct reading of the rule, or have I made an error?

2024.12.01 02:37 ednamodeant [ab] is there anything that can be done to detect a missed miscarriage earlier?
I just had my first early ultrasound and I'm measuring 7weeks + 1 day with a heart beat of 144bpm. All good news but high anxiety me can't help but worry about a miscarriage. I won't be going in until week 12 so that's 5 weeks of potentially knowing nothing? Is there anything I can do in the meantime or is it just wait and see?
At week 4 I had light bleeding, went for HCG test and my doctor told me I'm likely miscarrying since it was low. Shot my anxiety through the roof. But second test came back doubled so turned out okay?!?! Then the week after my sister in law experienced a missed miscarriage at 8 week ultrasound. Baby stopped growing at 7 week + 1. Cue anxiety back up again. If she had gone in at 7 weeks like me she likely would've measured fine and seen a heart beat. I can't help but worry that if something goes wrong for me I won't know until 5 weeks from now....any thoughts? This rollercoaster is killing me.
