So at my workplace, ive been told by numerous people today that im looking depressed, and im very quiet, im not talking as much. I had just came back from a medical leave i told nobody about.
Even some of the people i liked were saying this.
Idk but personally i dont feel like entertaining people and trying to start conversations with them when they never try to. Not only ive been told this at work, but also at my boxing gym and other places. Idk if somethings wrong with me or what, but trying to make people laugh or happy i dont feel like doing, or this could be my poor social skills, ive never had lots of friends.

I went to play Blackhawk my main weapon before GEN four with the P90 because it has a high fire rate in the magazine size is pretty good but when I loaded in, I couldn’t aim down the gun.
Is it something on my end or is it happening to anyone else with any other guns?

Many probably used the old code for not dimming inactive tabs, then a recent update (133.0) broke it by removing #titlebar. The fix is thankfully simple. In userChrome.css, replace #titlebar with #TabsToolbar

As the title states, PyQt5, PyQt5-sip, and PyQt-builder have had their names changed in the gentoo repo to pyqt5, pyqt5-sip, pyqt-builder.

Why? I have no idea. Perhaps the old, working names violated the naming convention? Or, perhaps the regular guy was out of town on holiday? No idea. It's a mystery that may never be solved. But it is what it is right now.
I discovered this quite recently when portage broke because a required dependency for Carla (PyQt5 pyqt5) caused portage to spit out errors that could only be satisfied by deselecting said package. When I tried to reinstall Carla PyQt5 and it's dependency PyQt5-sip began causing problems....
Whats in a name? Apparently a lot, because my solution was to change "PyQt5" to "pyqt5" in the carla ebuild located in my local repository. And when you google pyqt5 the result ( https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/dev-python/PyQt5) now returns a 404 error, but if you change the address to https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/dev-python/pyqt5/ it works fine.
Anyway, this was a bit of a rant... that was suppose to be a heads up for anyone else who encounters problems with the PyQt pyqt family of dependencies. Good luck out there!

2024.12.01 02:26 HallZac99 I think Mortal Kombat could stand to take itself less seriously and embrace it's inherently juvanile, trashy spirit.
The original Mortal Kombat was, let's be honest, very silly and very stupid. With ninjas and cyborgs and secret agents doing kung-fu while ripping spines out of people and exploding into blood and guts. It was, both in aesthetic and tone, basically a dark edgy 90's Image comic if it was drawn by Boris Vallejo. Ultraviolent b-movie shlock. And for as poorly as the old MK games have aged, they still retain a certain charm in that.
Fast forward to today and, if I'm being completely honest, I find MK really boring, unfun, and gross.
Ever since the 3D era they've become more and more serious. The world was more well-built and realized, the characters more nuanced, the graphics have gotten better and better, the stories more in-depth. And yet, that ultra-violence never left. And as the series got even more serious and even more realistic looking in the Neather Realm era, the tonal dissonance of the story and gameplay has only gotten worse and worse. Characters who were pacifists or just nice people would suddenly start breaking ribcages and stabbing hearts the moment gameplay started. Characters who had a strong, loving connection would just casually torture and murder their loved ones. It's nonsensical, but it doesn't feel intentional, like we're meant to be in on the joke.
And as the graphics have gotten more realistic, the gore and fatalities have gone from funny, cartoony slapstick to torture porn filth. Modern fatalities can be creative, but they're just nasty now. When you're giving developers PTSD, you know you've gone too far. Fatalities just aren't fun anymore for the most part.
And as for the story... it's a joke. They've written themselves into a corner 3 times in the span of only 4 games. A simple tournament story has ballooned into trend-chasing multiverse nonsense where nothing matters or has any lasting consequences because one of the main characters is literally god. All this and the characters are still grim growly men growling grimly, written like this the most seriously serious thing to ever be serious about. And anyone who isn't Jonny Cage has little to no personality, just quips and drama.
And if this was ALL done ironically, if this was meant to be funny or satirical or tongue-in-cheek then it might work. But it isn't. And frankly, modern MK is just really boring and really gross.
I personally think the serious would do good to embrace its own silliness, its own tackyness. Go for more of that B movie shlock charm. Go for a less realistic art direction so the fatalities don't actually make people sick and can be fun again. Go back to shirtless macho men and bikini ninja babes. Honestly I don't think they even need to change up the writing much, with a less serious presentation seeing these he-man action figure-looking characters have gritty character drama would actually be pretty funny. Just remember to give them personality. And enough of the multiverse, give us actual stakes.
This is just my thoughts and feelings. Maybe this is all rediculous, but I look at MK1 and the franchise as a whole and I have no idea where they could go from here.
What do you guys think? Am I talking out my arse here?
