I apply my bags very well, and although thats a bit of a brag, it’s the honest truth! I can go up to 2 weeks with my bags. My average is about 8-10 days.
My skin is perfectly fine (other than some hypergranulation around the edges of my stoma that I’ve had since surgery). All the barrier application I do stays intact for a long time, and zero output gets onto the skin even after that long.
Sources online say that the protective properties of the products are only meant to last for around a week. I sometimes worry that things may become toxic after that long.. though, everything’s been perfectly fine up to now.
My bag change system if anyone is curious:
- powder and 3M spray over my hypergranulation; the crusting method.
- barrier wipe over the area where my flange goes
- curved cut-out strips of duoderm around the entire stoma. This helps the barrier products stick better.
- apply a very thin layer of paste. Let dry a little.
- when using a flat, apply a barrier ring on top of the paste (I use cheap rings from Amazon). When using convex bags, cut barrier rings into quarters and stick them into any divots/curvature of the skin.
- apply a layer paste (thicker layer than the first) over top of all the barrier ring or barrier ring pieces. Fill in all the gaps, especially the gap between the barrier ring and the stoma.
- apply the bag
- apply Tegaderm around the edges of the flange to prevent any lifting.
- heat and massage (kneading motions) for 5 minutes after
- and finally, wear the belt for a few hours to secure everything

i’m defeated.
i’m tired of politics. everything about it.
people are clearly breaking or bending the law and they’re facing zero repercussions. billionaires are being placed in office positions with little to no experience in the department/ position they are being recruited for.
people voted against their own interests, get over it.
i feel like no matter how much we complain or fight, it’s all landing on deaf ears.
i can’t quite imagine how our country is going to be in the next 4 years, but i know it’s going to be filled with more bad than good ONLY because of the character traits of the person that was voted in.
he’s disgusting, baseline. but you cannot deny that he’s a felon and rapist (there’s probably more). that’s who is representing our country now. like it or not.
i’ve given up. everything we say, every piece of data we have, every piece of evidence and proof we have of things like post-birth abortions, climate change, etc., they just say is untrue.
no matter how much true shit we throw at them, they deny, deny, deny.
when what we say is ACTUALLY TRUE, they just deny it.
i’m over it. i’m done explaining smart to stupid. it doesn’t work. even breaking familial ties doesn’t work. nothing works.
i didn’t think that the democrats did an awful job pushing Kamala on the ticket. her rhetoric was decent in my opinion. take the presidential debate, for example. i thought it would be clear that the winner was the woman that pushed for tax credits surrounding children, small businesses, and housing. instead, the man who claimed that haitian immigrants were eating the cats and dogs of ohio “won”.
i’m done. people are ignorant. it’s bliss until it fucks you over.
good luck, everyone. i’m done trying to stoop to their level of understanding. we are straight up telling them all these things that trump may or may not do that’s god awful for the country and they still voted for it.
fyi: i have not given up the fight, but i’m done trying to explain why tariffs are bad to grown ass adults, etc. just as one example.
i think it’s as simple as saying people will not seek out information that will destroy their own image. if they researched literally ANYTHING, the maga base would crumble. these people like to complain. they can’t get enough of it.
as an example, if you just looked up “are children getting transition surgeries in schools?” they’d realize that that’s not true. shit, even if they HAVE kids in school currently, they would know that that’s not true.
now, shit is going to fall apart. feel free to tell me how it’s going to get better.
reminder that these folk, these people in office, are supposed to be serving US, NOT the president. these are public service positions, but not so much anymore, no? tell me why i should be excited for a second trump presidency.

I am a Christian but I’m doing school a project on Hinduism. I am interested in knowing what Hindus themselves say constitutes being a Hindu. Mormons believe in a lot of the same stuff that Christians believe, but most Christians do not consider them Christians. Many muslims think Alawites aren’t muslim. But although Hindus seem to allow for a lot of variance in belief from person to person, I am still not certain if they think that you must believe(or “know” or however it is described) in Brahman’s existence or must see it as God/a god(possibly not necessarily needing to worship it directly or at all). In general, I want to know about Hindu views on the necessity of beliefs about and in Brahman. I’m not asking if it’s common but rather if believing certain things as a Hindu is possible. Also, if they are possible, what are such people called? What IS a Hindu?

after 3 years of being high every waking second of every day and flunking out of college, i’m finally ready to take my life back. i’m ready to push through pain, boredom, and anxiety if it means this never ending brain fog goes away. i am ready to deal with my emotions even if it hurts. i went through all this trouble to get back into college, i am not going to throw it all away again and waste my time and money anymore than i already have. no human being was ever meant to have a cart in their pocket 24/7 it’s actually insane. i have to stop this myself, no one will do it for me. this is my life and ultimately my decision. i’m 21, i don’t want to look back just ten years from now and realize most of my 20s are a blurry haze, let alone 20, 30, 40 years from now. in january i’ll be visiting japan for two weeks where weed is fully illegal, so i’m excited for the nonoptional break. it’s easy when you have no choice though, harder when the weed’s being handed to you by your brother or girlfriend. i have to exercise my willpower or this will not work. i am strong and i can do this.

I (32F) live in a pretty quiet neighborhood and mostly get along with everyone, other than one neighbor Lisa (35F). I’m really active in the pro life movement, which I know some people don’t agree with, but I try to not shove it in anyone’s face. I plan rallies, hand out flyers, and sometimes host meetings at my house.
Couple weeks ago, I organized a small rally at the park near my neighborhood. It wasn’t a big deal, just a few of us with signs trying to talk to people. Lisa showed up and started yelling at us, saying we’re spreading hate and that we’re ‘anti women’, which makes no sense. She even brought her kids and had them scream to drown out our speakers. It was honestly so immature, but we just ignored her.
But then i find out she called my work to try and get me fired. She told my boss I was some kind of begot and shouldnt be working there. Luckily my boss knows me and just blew it off, but I was SO pissed. Like, I’ve never done anything to her, and she out here trying to ruin my life over this?
Now here’s the thing. Lisa has a nanny for her kids, and everyone knows she’s undocumented. It’s not exactly a secret, but no one’s ever done anything about it because we all just stay out of eachother’s business. After what she pulled tho, I couldn’t just let it slide. So I called immigration and reported it. Her nanny left the next day, and now Lisa’s freaking out, saying I “broke up a family” and “ruined her life” because now she doesn’t have childcare.
Some of my neighbors are saying I went too far and should’ve just let it go. But others are saying she got what she deserved. Honestly, at first i didn’t feel bad but now im not so sure.
Am I the asshole?
