My partner and I had a trip lined up to visit Barcelona in October. We were very excited to visit for a quick trip, so we of course scoured this subreddit. I remember coming across a post of a Latino's experience in Spain, which didn't seem too great, so it worried me a tiny bit. Well, we have since returned, and the trip was amazing!
For some background, my partner and I are Mexican Americans, speak fluent Spanish and this was our first big trip anywhere (maybe rose colored glasses?). Also, we stayed at a hotel.
The big thing that I see are people encountering rudeness and/or racism. I think the post I had looked at talked about this. Now I'm sure this exists in Spain, like anywhere else in the world really, but we didn't encounter it. I will say that as Americans, we noticed that people weren't in our bubble or being overly talkative with us. Maybe that's part of the rudeness people think they detect? We didn't mind this in Spain. It was actually refreshing for us to be left alone. We mostly stayed to ourselves, but we'd make it a point to talk to the cab drivers and our waiters to find out more about their lives and how Spain is. Not one of the people we spoke to was ever rude to us. I think as long as we initiated the conversation and weren't rude ourselves, they were fine talking to us and sharing their experience.
I've seen stuff about crime happening here. Luckily this didn't happen to us. We're not new to being in dangerous cities/areas, so we knew to keep to ourselves and not fall for people's random traps. We had one sketchy individual approaching us and asking us for help. When my partner told him no, he asked again and we just walked off. Just take proper precautions and I think you'll be fine.
We spent each day going to one or two touristy spots and then explored the city. We stayed in a hotel in the Olympic Village. The major pro of this, and our reason to return to a hotel here in the future, is the beach being across the street. Beautiful view. We visited the beach every day and even at night. It felt safe and others were at the beach late as well. A con was that this felt far from the heart of the city. Any time we had to head to our tourist events or explore a specific restaurant, we pretty much always had to take a 15-25 minute cab ride. This wasn't too bad though. The rides felt safe for the most part and it was easy to get one by either spotting a taxi on the street or ordering one through Cabify.
I was a bit worried when I saw that person's post about visiting Spain. I'm happy to say that I didn't have a bad experience. This has been one of the best experiences of my life. We went to beautiful places and met some great people. I cannot wait to return and I'm thankful to have experienced Barcelona's beauty.

Life After and Before this Sub Well the story for me getting into perfumes was due to getting triggered by a remark from a brat cousin over my Zara Perfume. He said it’s bullshit and synthetic. That didn’t sit well with me so I started looking for Perfumes and I bought the Police Gold which was a blind buy and I had no clue how it’ll turn up, but tuned up really well and that was it for me. I had an expensive perfume which got me compliments. Then my friends gifted me Jaguar which is also good. A random day I saw a YT video which talked highly about V&R Spicebomb Extreme and I decided to buy it only to flaunt in front of my cousin and dammmmmm, This shit was good.
This got me into perfumes and another random day I came across this Sub. It’s been 13 months since then and there has been no looking back. Buy until you go broke, that’s been the thing for me. Kasam se bohot kharcha ho gaya 😅😅
I haven’t even tried some of these decants till date and some of these have been with me for over 6 months now. I am not good with reviews so I’ll put up something that makes sense to me with whatever I have used.
Perfume for lifetime:
Dior Suvage Elixer: Boy o Boy, this is the best thing I have ever seen. This has the usual Suvage DNA but this is way more spicer and has a beast performance compared to all other flankers in the line. The thing that makes this different from other perfumes is the layers of dry downs. After 6-7 hours it shows new colour and profile every hour and a two.
Perfume I’ll NEVER buy again:
Rasasi Fattan: This is more like Siger-Pattan for me. I know freshies or green perfume don’t last long but maybe this is not my taste. Just don’t like it at all
Hidden Gem:
Mercedes Benz Le Perfume: I know this is clone of Tom Ford Ombré Leather EDP but the initial hours of harsh leather and animatic notes that we get in Ombré is missing here and sweet Patchouli shines throughout. If you haven’t tried, please do give it a short.
The one I’ll never buy Full Bottle for:
Afnan 9PM: While this is a pleasant scent but I do not get the confidence of buying complete bottle of the same. The scent profile is good, the dry down coconut stays for long with you even though it’s not one of the notes mentioned so if you like sweet vanilla blend, then go for it.
Guilty Pleasure:
Montale Black Aoud: If you have smelled Fennel (Sauf) and you like the smell, this Is what you need to try. This is not for blind buy. A very different scent profile but something I enjoy and is quite specific to me is what I have got to know 😅😅

I’m planning of buying an iPod 5gen from Elite Obsolete Electronics. Modifying and doing the DYI thing on this goes beyond my skills.
I’m planing to rip my cd collection. I think it’s it might around 3,000 songs. I’ve read some iPods have some limitations regarding the songs it can handle. Don’t know what battery should it have.
