First off, I cannot remember a lot about this movie and I don’t know any specific actors that were in it. What I do remember is a man is sent in by the FBI or some other law enforcement agency to help them get this small town preacher or maybe cult leader? I could’ve sworn the preacher was played by Ed Harris, but I’ve searched his IMDB and never found what I was looking for, so maybe played by someone similar to him. A scene I can vividly remember is at the end when the agency is coming to raid the church, and the guy who was sent in to get the information is like sobbing on a pew because he feels bad for giving the preacher up. That’s all I can really remember.
I watched it when I was younger and it definitely wasn’t made after 2004, possibly closer to ‘99-‘02, but I can’t give a specific year. I have tried googling what I remember so many times and haven’t come across something that looks familiar to me. Any help is greatly appreciated!

2025.01.18 01:51 ell_o_ell *Very* slow internet connection for over a month, and delayed engineer appointments

Figured I'll post it here too. Hello! I'm in a strange situation atm and I don't know what to do. I live in Barry, Wales if that matters.
I decided to upgrade my internet from Sky Broadband Superfast (61Mb/s) to Full Fibre 500 a day or two before Storm Darragh. They said they wouldn't be able to come out until Jan 20th due to holidays and stuff, and I was totally okay with that because the price would also drop from about £46 a month to £35.
The problem is that our internet connection has gone from the guaranteed 61Mb/s speed I used to have for YEARS to about 15-20 Mb/s ever since the storm. I also keep disconnecting from the internet, atleast 5 times a day,
I've asked them what I can do about it, and they told me to run through their broadband checker thing on sky.com, but it keeps telling me that I've got an engineer booked for Jan 20th, and so nothing can be done about the shitty service.
Now this is where it gets a little confusing:
15th jan: I get an e-mail saying the engineer is no longer coming out and that I need to re-schedule. Later that same day I receive an SMS saying an openreach engineer will be coming out on the 20th jan.
16th Jan: I call them and ask why it's telling me to re-schedule and whether he's coming or not. They confirm that he is infact coming.
17th Jan: I receive an e-mail AND an SMS saying that the engineer isn't coming, and that it's been re-booked for the 14th of February.
18th Jan: I checked just now, and the sky site says the engineer is still coming on the 20th of January. I'm going to call them again later today.
Can anything be done about this? It feels really, really shit to be paying like £46 a month for *extremely* slow internet that keeps disconnecting, and messing with my work because I have to be online.

Hi everyone,
I’m a 16-year-old student from Quebec, and I’m trying to plan the best pathway for eventually earning a Civil Engineering degree. My current plan is to start at Algonquin College in a related program and then transfer to a university in Ontario (like Carleton University) later.
Here’s some info about my situation: • Grades: I have 75% in SN Math and 75% in Secondary V English, so my grades are pretty average. • Programs I’m Considering at Algonquin: • Construction Engineering Technician (2 years) • Civil Engineering Technology (3 years)
My concern is that if I apply directly to university later, they might ask for my high school transcripts, and my grades might not be strong enough. That’s why I think starting with a college program and working on improving my academic record could be a good plan.
I have a few questions: 1. Will universities ask for my high school grades even if I transfer from college? 2. Between the 2-year technician program and the 3-year technology program, which one is better for transferring to university? 3. Has anyone successfully transferred from Algonquin to an Ontario university for engineering? How many credits transferred? 4. Should I consider upgrading any courses before starting college to make future transfers easier? 5. For Quebec students, how was the transition to studying in Ontario, both academically and socially?
I’m open to any advice or tips from people who’ve been through a similar process! Thanks in advance for helping me figure this out.

2025.01.18 01:51 Clean-Ad-884 Neighbor Threatens to Remove Our Fence and Charge Us For Removal

We have been living at our detached house (House 98) for 25 years without issue. Our neighbor House 96 retained a lawyer and is demanding we remove a portion of our fence and wooden retaining wall otherwise they will hire a contractor and remove the fence themselves and then come after us for the cost of doing so. Our neighbor, house 96 was living there before us and they had a fence erected before we moved in, we erected our own fence shortly after we moved in 25 years ago.
Originally, the sketch only showed an encroachment of our wooden fence, we took that down to be amicable, now they have a new updated sketch showing encroachment of our metal fence and our wooden retaining wall.
They provided a sketch survey of our encroachment and the wooden retaining wall in the back is encroaching by 3cm and the metal fence in the front is encroaching by 6cm. The wooden retaining wall is a material structure as it prevents soil/earth from our neighbor House 96 from spilling on our property. Removal would be detrimental.
If we do not remove the encroaching structures in two weeks, they will hire contractors to remove the encroachments and bill us for it because they want to erect a brand new fence.

Are they allowed to remove the encroaching structures without our consent?
If they do remove the structures can they send us the bill, even though there is no court order?
If we go to court, what will be the outcomes, would we have to pay for their lawyer fees
The wooden retaining wall serves a joint purpose, removal of it would be significant, can they remove this structure unilaterally?

I am currently a senior in college who was supposed to graduate this May. I am studying one major that is a split between 2 majors (half and half) but realized I liked studying half of my major instead of the other half
With hopes of switching majors, I continued what I wanted to study and have finished all major requirements with classes left that are general education requirements. I have applied for a major switch twice, which is the max limit and have been rejected so now I feel devastated not knowing what to do because I was supposed to graduate in May with the major I was going to switch to
I have talked to my advisor and they said that I’ll have to continue my current major or switch majors but right now that is not feasible for me. I am reaching the unit cap and continuing my current major would need 1.5 more years and I would need to study something I wanted to switch out of to begin with. Not only that, the classes are prerequisites of each other so there will be a semester where I only have one class and that does not satisfy the requirement of receiving financial aid (need to be half time or full time student. If I applied to another major, I would need 50 more units. The main issue is that the school I am attending is expensive. Cost of attendance is 90k+ a year and I can not afford that. The reason I am able to go now is because my tuition is free thanks to financial aid but with my reaching the unit cap and needing more units, I will no longer be able to afford going to school
I have emailed the dean and the email was forwarded to the assistant director. I explained my circumstances of finishing the major but because my gpa is not a 3.8 or above, I was rejected. In my essay, I have explained factors for my lower than average gpa and am not sure if that was taken into consideration at all. Right now, I am looking at the option of dropping out and I really do not want to do that. I have also looked into transferring but that is not really a feasible option as I am into my last semester as a senior and am 95% done.
If there is any advice on what I can do, I greatly appreciate it

I stopped going to school when I was 12 because of social anxiety (and covid didn’t help either) and have basically been alone in my room for coming up to 5 years.
For hours a day I pace around my room, Pretending to be in different scenarios, Involving different fictional worlds and characters. My daydreams are so vivid, I actually gain feelings for these fictional characters, These feelings become so real, I think about these fictional characters during the day sometimes.
In a few months I’m going to start learning how to drive, And before that I’ll probably have to start working to afford a car. And I’m just wondering if any veteran daydreamers can help me because I have a few questions. I can’t ask my friends or my family because they’re all what I consider normal, And have never experienced anything like this.
Are these daydreams going to affect me in the long term? Like make me crazy or something.
Is it difficult switching from being in your head all the time to being in a work environment?
Should I go to efforts to stop these daydreams? Or should I embrace and continue to find comfort in them?
It’s became so easy being addicted to escaping reality I didn’t even realise how far gone I was until today when I tried to not do it at all today and found myself doing it on accident. I’m completely normal when I’m around other people, Except when there’s music sometimes. And it’s hard to tell if it’s taken a toll on my social life because I barely had one to begin with. (Any help would be greatly appreciated and apologies for all the waffling it’s just alot to get off my chest)
I’ve spent these past years building the perfect world in my head for me, I really don’t want to have to stop so much so that it makes me emotional, Like I’d be leaving a piece of me, But I also understand if I have to?

Got a Havanese puppy about 9 months ago and she is almost 1 year old now. She has always had a habit of eating her own poop. I have read some articles online that say it’s somewhat common and that they will grow out of it. But now that she is almost a year old I’m worried she won’t just stop all of a sudden. Anybody else have this issue and did it stop? Or do you have any tricks to get her to stop doing that?
