Hi guys. Just got my second roll back from the lab and of course tried to scan it right away. It is Fuji 200, shot with Olympus XA. The film is not expired or anything. My scanning setup is Nikon D600 (shooting in raw @ iso 100) with Soligor macro 100 f3.5 (scanning at f/8) and JJC digitizer. Nothing fancy, so I checked the lens and the results are really good - attached is a crop (1:1, letters "VAN") of some foil with letters taped to the digitizer and that looks sharp and very detailed to me, you can even see toner splashes.
So, at this point, I'm not worried about 100% accurate colors and white balance, it was just quickly converted without any touchups. What I don't like is the color noise and lack of sharpness.
I also have another film developed in the same place from different camera, and results are the same.
Also, did a scan of one frame to get the letters and these shapes at the film edge - do they look ok?
Overall, do you guys think my Olympus XA works ok? Is the film fine? Maybe the development was wrong? Or maybe my scanning? Or maybe I expect too much?!

2025.01.18 04:00 Eeshoo Getting up heelside on a slope without the board slipping?
I can do this just fine on flats or when there's powder so I can "dig" the board in to keep it stopped. Last time I went, the terrain was a bit hard/icy so I just could not get the board to stop from slipping or sliding while I was trying to push my butt over the board. I lose my balance as soon as I lift my butt up since the edge of the board doesn't dig into the icy snow... I saw others getting up just fine so I'm sure I'm missing some technique here.

Kia Ora,
I am preparing to start my first year of university, and I am passionate about studying nutrition, so it’s my first choice. However, I’m currently struggling to choose a university.
My first choice is the University of Auckland (UoA). Although I received a decline for the Food Science and Nutrition program due to my NCEA score not meeting the requirements, my score qualifies me for Biological Sciences. I plan to change my major once I get into UoA, but I’m worried it might be tough to switch.
On the other hand, my second choice is Otago, where I received an offer for the Nutrition program. However, there are fewer accommodations in Dunedin, and I would prefer to live in Auckland because all my friends are there.
Now I’m struggling to decide whether to accept the nutrition offer from Otago or to go to UoA.
I also want to ask, is it hard to change my major from Biological Science to Nutrition? Has anyone done that before?

2021 Charger Scat Pack Transmission Drain and Fill … bought 7 quarts of mopar 8&9 speed ATF to be safe …… about 3.8qts came out (i cant afford to do a FiltePan right now but im @ 45,000miles with Spirited Driving NOT ABUSE) , and i was only able to put 3.0 quarts back in , I used a $8 transfer pump …. But it kept spewing back at me and trickling down my arm when I hit that 3 quarts Mark ……. I drove about 3 miles total on highway @ maybe 80mph w/ 150° trans temperature & messing with the transmission range selector and it feels OK….. do you guys think I’m safe/alright ???
