Hi! I am someone who is quite young. I have lately been getting into true crime stuff lately, especially some of the more morbid/creepy stuff such as unsolved murders, unsolved disappearances, unidentified bodies, etc. Some of the cases are quite fascinating! Anyway, I have been doing this for the last two months now, but I really want to stop. This content has been making me extremely paranoid, even in my relatively safe area, and concerned about the safety of myself and my loved ones. I have now routinely had sleepless nights thinking even the slightest noise means that someone is in the house and am now overprotective, especially of my little brother who frequently goes outside to play.
I really don't want to live a life like this. I hate this new paranoia I am having, and have been desperately trying to wean myself off this stuff for the last week or two, but every time I try, I get reminded of some weird case, instinctively look it up, and end up down the rabbit hole again, as I did tonight. I am honestly sick of it and I wish I never found this stuff to begin with, but I literally cannot forget this stuff no matter how much I try to distract myself away. Do you have any advice as to how to get away from this kind of stuff, or what kind of things you would do to get away from this true crime content?

I’m sorry for how the words I said might have come across as accusations. That wasn’t my intention. I realize that my frustration caused me to act poorly, and I’m sorry that I made you feel like I was questioning your honesty or trust.
I’ve been hurt and confused by some things, but I also recognize that bringing them up like this wasn’t fair. They are questions that I’ve had for a while but I was either afraid to ask or afraid of the answers. I care about settling this so that we’re not hurt more, and I’m willing to listen if you’re open to talking about it. If not, I still want you to know some things instead of ending on a bad note.
Going through my journal that I’ve kept for about a month and there’s a theme: I want to wait on you. I want it to work with us. I know you need time to deal with whatever. And I need time to deal with whatever. I know you’ve been hurt. I’ve been hurt. We’ve both been through shit the past few years. And I thought we were coming out okay. I say I’m done, but when I say that it’s that I’m done with dealing with how you’re making me feel. I still feel like the other woman. I still feel shitty and shame. I know I’m using a lot of “I” but I need you to know how I feel. You don’t want to talk about it. I still don’t think you know what you need or want. If I’m wrong, tell me. I’ll tell you what I want: I want you. I need us to be OK. That’s what I’ve told my therapist I need us to be together or have peace. You have been my best friend through some shit and you’ve helped me through it. You’ve been there for me when I’ve had no one. Thank you for being that person for me.
Don’t know where we are or where we’re going or where we’ll be but this I know: • I love you. • I’m sorry for the things I said tonight. I'm an artist, and I have looked at the arguments for and agaisnt and it's hard for me to see a positive outcome either way. Especially with the push towards artists being paid to draw from certain people.
So I thought I would see what programmers think about the AI situation since programming is also an area where AI is looking to replace people.
I learned to code a while back but I thought I was too slow to be good at it. And it also kinda upset me with how the documentation made me feel kinda like disposable goods. I had thought about learning more and brushing up my skills but why learn another way to be a Dunsel.
What are your thought?
