Hey, so my female friend suddenly became cold, bitter, dry and extremely distant over texts. Two weeks ago everything was fine, like always. Last week she stopped texting me first, friday arrived and she told me to stop sending her reels. At first I thought maybe she was just having a rough time (reasons) and didn't wanna talk. But this has lasted until this very day. She keeps me in her close friend's list, talks to me back at school like nothing's wrong, etc. Yesterday and today I asked - "What's wrong". Got a nothing burger. She says everything is fine when I clearly know that something is up. She had left me on delivered for around 24 hours since the last message.
It was never like this before, and I sincerely did not do anything wrong, I didn't say anything that could've hurt her in some way, nor did I do something awful. Like a light bulb she switched on me. Is this just a classic example of ghosting? Did she find a boyfriend and he doesn't let her talk to me? Did she got bored of me? Did she got tired of our dynamic? Seriously, I can't know till she doesn't say it herself, but as you can see she's simply not willing to.
Our dynamic has shifted throughout the year from a situationship to aquantances to just besties, but our friendship has remained genuinely solid, until obviously now.
I plan on meeting her and asking it directly, but honestly no matter what reasons she gives me, I don't think I can stay friends with someone who acts this way.

Hi everyone, I’m getting my first infusion today and I’m really nervous. I made the mistake of googling other people’s bad experiences and things that could go wrong. I’m not so concerned with the actual procedure, just side effects I guess. The last time I tried an oral iron supplement I was violently ill.
My biggest concern is that it won’t help my symptoms; my doctor still doesn’t think the majority of my issues are related to my iron deficiency. My ferritin is 9 and hemoglobin 12. Brain fog, chronic fatigue, increased anxiety and panic attacks, depression and mood imbalances, tinnitus, night sweats, headaches, trouble focusing my vision, lightheadedness and bouts of vertigo and dizziness are my main concerns.
Does anyone have any success stories to cheer me up? 😂

2025.01.29 20:50 NoConclusion3635 I can't tell if my anxiety makes me seem 'suspicious'
Quite frankly, I've had anxiety issues ever since I was a kid. But over the last year or so I try to go for walks at the park. I do my best to mind my own business. But sometimes, I don't know if my anxiety is apparent in my body language and makes me seem off-puting to the extent it makes me suspicious? I was toward the end of my walk today and a cop had parked on the side of the road that leads to a neighborhood, but when I walk in front of where he's parked, he slowly drives off the side of the road and toward me, but by that point I'm already out of the road and back on the park path.
Anyway, interactions like that always make me wonder if I'm coming across as suspicious to other people even when I'm doing my best to mind my own business. And in situations like that my imagination goes into overtime. Anyone else experience similar?

I was hired remote 90 miles away from my "duty station" as an employeed IT contractor, It began with RTO 1 day a week which I pushed back on, but agreed with my employer to do it in an act of good faith/good customer service. The commute takes 4 hours, 2hrs inbound and 2hrs outbound. If I lived locally I would absolutley not care about RTO.
However today my Account Executive (Employer) made a comment that contractors were going to be made to RTO 5 days a week.
This to me seems to be 20 hours of OT that they are not paying for, Am I incorrect in this line of thinking?

Hey everyone, I’m (6ft Indian male) 27 and just recently got out of a long term (5 years) relationship and I’m ready to start putting my self out there again. I’m planning a 2 week trip to see Amsterdam and Berlin to party hard and see the cities while staying in social or party hostels!
I definitely don’t want to come across like I want to prey or be weird but does anyone have any advice on putting myself back out there? I really want to use the experience to learn about myself and gain confidence. Im a bit nervous about the whole thing.
Ive never been to Europe, so I don’t know if German or Dutch women (and ppl in general) have weird misconceptions about Indian men. I’m definitely above average looks-wise bc I spend a lot of time taking care of my health and fitness and I think I’m a mostly normal guy lol.
Any advice is much appreciated!

So ive had my black box for five months (installed into the car as i do not have a cigarette port) and the sensitivity appears to be non-existent. Since getting the box, my driving score has not improved despite me changing my driving style in a way that's supposed to appease it (5/5 on speed, 4/5 night driving and 2/5 smoothness). This has never once updated or changed and has remained at "needs improvement." I don't drive like a maniac (not that it'd be possible to do so in my 1 litre Picanto) and have never had complaints about my driving. I commonly commute during rush hour traffic (6-7am and 4-6pm) for university and I don't know if that's affecting the smoothness score due to frequent braking... Basically what Im trying to ask, has anyone else had this issue??

Pretty much as the title states, I'm a first time modder and followed an in-depth tutorial on installing mods for GTA V, I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly, but make when I launch GTA via steam, desktop shortcut or rockstar launcher it just gives me am infinite black loading screen and a blank icon in the hotbar.
I've tried updating my graphics drivers as some tutorials suggested, and I don't think it's because I have too many mods and it can't handle it, because I've literally only got one.
Does anyone know if there are other necessary mods I need or if I could've done something wrong?

2025.01.29 20:50 Archididelphis Season 4 survey continued: Mute; ehhh...
I'm continuing my trip through episodes I've never watched from season 4, and got to one of the most talked about but seemingly least correspondingly liked, Mute. Here are my thoughts, which went long enough that I'm giving this one its own post.
- What I find striking about the episode is that it's not so much polarizing the fandom as it is consistently mixed in appraisal. Most people see it as flawed but having some merit, and it definitely never got the outright hate that The Bard and a few other hour-long episodes do. My own appraisal is pretty much in agreement. The acting and dialogue are about average, with a little extra wordiness. The story is done well enough that it could really work just as well if you took out the sci fi element and made it a straight drama, which considering the level of the concepts is in itself kind of THE problem.
- For extra legwork, I speed-read through the Matheson short story, which I had not only read but acknowledged as an influence on a neurodiversity-themed anime fan fic I have out there called Music In The Spheres. What stood out to me is that one thing the story does well is portraying non-verbal intelligence. In rational hindsight, this should have been a red flag made of other red flags that the story as written was literally unfilmable. That went straight into my most immediate beef with the actual episode, the supposedly pre-verbal telepath can still understand verbalized thoughts. This was clearly a necessary conceit for the audiovisual medium, but it also directly waters down the posited central conflict of verbal and nonverbal communication.
- My further thought on looking through the story is that there are problems the episode inherited from it. One is definitely the teacher, revealed as a closeted telepath who was subjected to abuse for her gift. In the story, it gives an angle to sympathize with the authority figure, but it didn't get developed there or in the episode. Then what really stood out reading it in the anthology Twilight Zone: The Original Stories is that it's substantially longer than other Matheson stories adapted for TZ, including Death Ship which also became an hour-long episode. By further comparison, it's just clunky, and not up to Matheson's usual economical standards.
