Hi everyone,
I’ve been feeling a bit conflicted about a situation and wanted to hear your thoughts. I have a friend who I study with occasionally—maybe a couple of times a week for about two hours. We’ve worked on past papers together, and I even encouraged him to focus on certain questions that came up in our mocks.
The thing is, when we got our mock results back, I did quite well (two A*s and an A), but my friend didn’t do as well as he expected. Now his parents are blaming me, saying I’m a bad influence and partly responsible for his low performance.
They think that because we hang out sometimes (even outside of studying, like running errands or just relaxing), I’ve distracted him from working harder. But here’s the thing: I’m not with him all day. Outside of the few hours we study or hang out, I have no control over how he spends his time. I know he plays a lot of video games, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t study much outside of when we’re together.
My friend knows I’m not at fault and even told his parents about my grades, but they still think I’m the reason he’s underperforming. I feel like his parents are using me as a scapegoat to avoid addressing his habits or the actual reasons he didn’t do as well.
I’m thinking about limiting the time we spend together to avoid further drama, but it feels unfair since I genuinely try to encourage him to study. Has anyone been in a similar situation, or do you have any advice on how to handle this?

2025.01.18 10:20 Killun0va It seems Rem haters have found a new place to channel their negativity through on Twitter. The Re:Zero marketing team.
There’s some people on Twitter, who are angry at the fact that the promo image isn’t related to the season which is a fair take. However the majority of people are upset at only Rem being there, and then stating a multitude of fake reasons why she shouldn’t be there without addressing any other characters because they are too blinded by their hatred for Rem. These people don’t actually care they just want to hate Rem more.
I’ve never had a good experience with these type of people. When I first started watching Re:Zero I liked Rem a lot and because of that I would get spoiled from the LN all the time for just liking Rem. I had to start reading it earlier than I wanted to because of these people. There has been nothing but negative conversation from them. All of them either want her dead or just be completely forgotten about. Which is ironic because they all claim they love Subaru so much but that’s the exact opposite of what he would want.

 | Hi! I posted a while ago about a cat I rescued from the streets, Ace, who had to have her leg amputated due a bad fracture. I adopted her now that she's in recovery from the operation (done 3 weeks ago). She's about 4 months old and was really really scared of humans in general. When she was in the clinic she was a menace to society (thankfully the vet was super brave to deal with her); now that she's home she's slowly becoming less feral. For example, she plays a lot with her toys, explores the room and doesn't try to kill me when I sleep 😁. She still hides when I walk too close and spends most of her time in her little cage (an old dog crate, that I leave always open, with a pillow on the inside). Following the advices I read on Reddit, I let her have a bit of catnip from my hand, and I think that really helped... she always sniffs my hand whenever I approach her and doesn't try to bite me like she used to, and is comfortable with me being near her cage (NOTE: when she's in the room and not there she hides from me). In these last few days she started taking food from my hand and let me touch her paw - I couldn't be happier!!! But she still won't let me pet her. So I'm asking: is there hope? Am I on the right way? Is she starting to trust me? I really hope she becomes an affectionate cat, but for now I'm happy she's safe and off the streets.
