2025.01.18 10:01 AllWeHaveIs_Now Guidance for a classically trained pianist on how to find a music theory / piano teacher to help me learn how to play rock music by ear and improvise
I am an intermediate/advanced classically trained pianist, and I am interested in making the move to playing rock and other contemporary music. I have recently completed an intro to music theory college course (to brush up on what I learned in my teens a few decades ago), and I would love to hear advice on different places/ways to find a piano teacher who can continue teaching music theory and helping me start to learn how to play rock songs by ear and improvise. Local music schools with formal programs are not a good fit since I need flexibility on lesson recurrence and willingness to accommodate my sporadic travel schedule. My ultimate goal is to start up or join a rock cover band for fun, and I'm convinced I need the structure of lessons to remain focused enough to achieve this. How do I go about finding a teacher who is a good fit? I live in the DC area but am also open to online lessons. I would greatly benefit from some detailed guidance. Thanks in advance.

2025.01.18 10:01 salehtanbouz The latest update has made me love the game again
I have played fifa since 2009. Every year we’ve had problems but thats normal and i have never complained i just adapt and move on. But fc25 was so painful to play even when i win it wasnt enjoyable. I used to play 3 games and just get a headache from how bad the gameplay is. I attack and my opponent literally moves his player to a midfielder even though his midfielder is like 50 yards away. Every fifa ive been elite and i get rank 2-3. Except this fifa the best i could do is div 1 and i got rank 3 once and never happened again. I was so close to quitting and i promised that this would be the last fifa i ever play. Until the latest patch. I play 10 games and i enjoy it. When i concede i deserve to because ive done a mistake. I havent had this much fun on a fifa game since like 2015-17. The gameplay is so good i literally caught myself smiling for no reason while playing. And within 2 days of the patch im in elite and im 6-0 in the current WL. On top of all that the joy i get of seeing these Ai defending bots have no clue what theyre doing is the best feeling ive experienced on fifa. This is the first time ive posted on reddit but i just hope someone from Ea sees this so they know theyre doing an amazing job again.

Like the title says, I'm so lonely. It's not like i don't socialize but I just can't to find friends to hang out with. I used to hang out with my roommate but lately our schedules haven't been matching so it's been a while since we hung out. We're still very good friends and today, finally we were both free at the same time. But he had plans with another girl and I'm alone. It just hit me then. Even though I socialize and have acquaintances, I never get invited to go out, or anything. Neither do I have anyone, I can call to hang out with except my roomie. I know how to socialize. Heck I'm even a part of the board for an engineering society, as well as a part of my college's aerodesign team. I've never had problems working with others. But even after everything, why am I so alone... It's so hard having to go through weekends after weekends just by myself...
