I’m an 18-year-old guy preparing for neet in Kota, where I attend coaching classes daily. For the past three days, I’ve been dealing with something that’s really bothering me. On my way to the coaching center, there’s a group of 4-5 girls who stand in front of their hostel and shout things at me like “Hey, look here,” “Dear, walk slowly,” “Hi,” and “Hello.”
They also call me “handsome” and keep trying to get my attention every time I pass by. At first, I thought it might just be harmless teasing, but this has been happening every day, and it’s starting to feel invasive and uncomfortable.
I believe harassment is unacceptable regardless of gender, but I’m not sure how to respond to this situation without escalating things or making it worse. Should I just ignore them and keep walking? Or should I confront them politely?
If anyone has been in a similar situation or has advice on how to handle this respectfully but firmly, I’d really appreciate it.

I 17M recently got a bf. We've been dating for just over a month and have been getting on really well. We always love hanging out with eachother and will always see eachother on the weekends. Now I'm in college and because my college uses staggered timetables me and my bf weren't able to see eachother during the week other than a Thursday so I would hang out with a high school friend of mine for the rest of the week. Then after Christmas my bfs timetable changed and he was able to hang out with me during our breaks and we now hang out every Tuesday and Thursday. Because of this I've starting not seeing my friend as much but I will still see them on a Wednesday and a Friday as those are the days our timetables allow for us to see eachother. So last Friday I got to college early and sat outside by the outdoor heaters and a few minutes later one of my friends other friends showed up. They recognised me as we are kind of friends but we have never really spoken. They sat with me and we were talking then my friend. We'll call her Sarah. Showed up and gave me a really dirty look and said "you know you really need to stop using us cus you cant hang out with your bf". She then sat next to me as I tried to explain to her that cus of timetable changes we can only hang out on certain days but she wasnt having any of it she then aceee distant and intentionally tried to alienate me from the group as the others wanted to play a game and Sarah said out loud and to my face "oh make sure "James" doesn't get to play". Then sarahs other friend. We'll call her Claire. She then said "james why are you using us are we not good enough for you" this then started a lot of rude remarks from the pair of them stating that they wished I never got with my bf cus he is "pulling us apart" they ended up calling us "a pair of fucking (f slur)" by that point it was already time for my lesson but I left the moment she said that and now looking back I realised she had been a fake friend to me the whole time at college. So now I'm thinking of I was wrong to see my bf more and not see my other friends. AITA

Hi guys and gals. I’m learning Spanish for no other reason than wanting to spend my time productively instead of just relaxing and playing games.. I’ve been learning Spanish for the last 5 days and can read and write very simple sentences.
After reading online about ways to supplement learning, I’ve bought a couple simple books to read with 140 different words as my first goal.
Currently when I read something, for the most part, I almost … decode it.. as I go, which wouldn’t make for very effective talking in the future lol. Is there a way to more effectively learn it, or is this the norm?
I realise I’m likely setting sail on a good couple years crusade, and I’m fine with that. I’ve been studying on average 5 hours a day so far, but I’m going to keep that at a minimum of 3 hours every day in the future.
TLDR: at what point does your brain understand the words as you read them without having to consciously think about each word you read? What was your experience?
Any other info I can think to provide:
English is the only language I speak currently.
In my early 30s. I don’t think I’ve got old man brain just yet, just the body (fingers crossed)
Currently studying with Duolingo, lingua and lingq, although the latter two are ideas I read on here so they’ve only been added the last couple days. I understand Duolingo alone isn’t going to teach me it, I guess I’m just using that for these early parts?
The book I want to read is ‘El escape cubano’ by Mira Canion.

Played the game and dropped it after finishing ARR. My total playtime is around 250h.
I felt like the combat is so boring even for targeting MMO standards. I feel like the only tactics I had is just dance around the big bad avoiding AoE attacks. No Elemental weakness nor Elemental resistance is also pretty bad imho.
The story is pretty weak tbh. Characters aren’t interesting other than Tataru (I kinda like her because she’s a goofball tbh) and the constant fetch quests made progressing through MSQ a slog.
Side contents are also weak. Gold Saucer has nothing to do other than playing extremely simple minigames, triple triad, chocobo racing and mahjong.
The progression is so streamlined that it made me feel like a chore. The lack of side-progression is also terrible.
Tl;dr: I finished ARR and I find the game to be quite boring.

Hi all! I accidentally got an iced coffee on my carpet on Monday and I’ve tried everything to get the smell out. I tried blotting it with carpet cleaner, vinegar, bicarb soda, steam mopping with vinegar init. Doing a bicarb and vinegar paste and vacuuming it up when it dries and finally got a cleaning company to come in Friday and professionally clean it.
The carpet has now dried but the smell still lingers despite having the window open all the way, a candle being lit and it being summer here with 30 degree weather.
Does anyone have any advice on what else i could possible do?

Hey y'all — I'm in a weird spot and could really use some advice from other ND people who just... get it.
I'm AuDHD, been diagnosed since 2021. I've lived in the same town for my entire life (22 years) but have been planning a move to a new city and state for over two years now. I kept hitting roadblock after roadblock, but finally, the stars have aligned and I am actually getting somewhere. I got accepted into college, I just found a place to live this week, and I booked my plane ticket.
I'm moving entirely by myself, which I have never done before. This will be the first time in my life I will be in a living situation without one of my family members or a good friend present. I actually don't even know anyone in the city except for my partner, who I've only been together with for a few months.
Unfortunately, the reality of the situation is starting to sink in and I am starting to panic now that I actually have a place. This goal that felt so impossible is actually tangible and real. I should feel wonderful and excited, but instead I feel increasing amounts of dread as the clock runs out. I know that this will be good for me in the long run, but there are still SO many things I don't know how to manage and have yet to learn.
The place I am moving in to has 4 other roommates who have lived with each other for a while and seem to be fairly close. I obviously don't have that rapport with any of them. I feel awkward and out of place and I'm not even there yet. I've lived in shared housing, shelters, and other non-traditional living environments since I was 11, so fortunately, I do know how to communicate issues and keep common spaces clean, but I struggle greatly with the social aspect of things.
How do I get to know these people? I'm not expecting us to be the best of friends, but I would at least like to know who I'm living with and be on friendly terms with them. When is it appropriate for me to use common spaces? What sort of other unspoken rules are there to shared living that I should be aware of?
I know that I'm paying rent and have just as much of a right to be there as anyone else in the house, but damn. This is hard. I am also the youngest person in the house, so I don't want them to see me as lesser or inferior to them. I just want to finally be in a place where I can live without judgement. How do I even begin to get to know these people?!

2025.01.18 10:43 neocongb Offer accepted by seller before Xmas, found out yesterday from EA that they decided to sell to someone else over 2 weeks ago.
So in late November we found a house that we loved, sorted our mortgage out, put our house on the market and put our offer in on the house which was accepted.
Seller was on the market due to a relationship breakdown and when speaking to her during the viewing told us she was happy to wait for our house to sell as it gave her time to sort something out for herself.
Fast forward to yesterday, we get an email from our solicitors advising that they had requested the memorandum of sale from the estate agent to be told that they weren't the instructed solicitor in the matter.
Called EA to find out what was going on to be told that the seller had decided to sell to someone else (FTB) and that this had been arranged between the seller and EA over 2 weeks ago!
Just really looking for some advice on how complain about this to EA because as far as I'm concerned we had formally entered into a contract to buy?
Might be worth noting that the EA in question is dealing with both properties so they knew full well that we had a vested in buying said property.
