Hey everyone,
I (25 M) am feeling really stuck in my career and could use some advice. Here’s where I’m at: • I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing majors), but I don’t really know much about making proper marketing strategies. • I worked as an Administrative Assistant at a civil engineering company, but I left because I hated it. I had to push myself to go to work every day. • Now I’m in Oman working at a startup as an Operations Manager. Since it’s a small company, I’m also doing content creation and design stuff (like video editing, graphics, etc.). But I’m starting to feel the same way—just not happy or excited about my work.
A bit about me:
• I know a lot of different things—video editing, basic animations, graphic design, MS Office, and other IT-related stuff (not programming)—but I don’t feel like I’ve mastered anything. • I’ve been applying to jobs in different fields but haven’t gotten any responses yet. • How do I figure out what career path suits me? • Any tips for making my job applications stand out? • any other advice
I just want to find a job that feels fulfilling and doesn’t make me dread going to work every day. Any advice or suggestions would really help.

2025.01.18 13:09 RobustPolygon Everyone says "Start with Y0", but TBH, it feels OLD...
I previously played about 20 hours of Like A Dragon and enjoyed it, and I'd like to go back and keep playing it and perhaps Infinite Wealth.
I've never played any of the other Yakuza games and I thought maybe I would go back and start with Yakuza 0. However, after trying to get into it, it just feels.... so dated and so old. The quality is all over the place.
Within the first hour you have multiple different tiers of cutscene quality, some with weird no voice acting and just text, some with weird still/animated images and voice over, but no lip sync, etc...
The combat/controls feel really dated and a bit "clunky".
Overall the game just feels like an old, very dated experience from my first hour or so. And it makes sense, it's a PS3 game really.
TBH, if this the level of quality I can expect from the series, I'll probably opt out and just play LAD/Infinite Wealth which are much more modern.

Posting this to my main account for accountability :)
The last time I attempted a no-buy was in 2020, and it went okay until the panini hit in full force. Anyway, I find the idea of a low buy YEAR incredibly intimidating. It seems like something that I’m doomed to fail. Then today, I saw a content creator say that the first time she tried it, she set a 1-month period in order to set herself up for success.
That sounds good to me! I think a month might be too easy for me and not long enough to reset my habits though so I’m gonna go with three months. I know my rules sound really chill and easy for other people but they’re honestly kinda challenging (and yet doable) for me. Here’s to hoping I make this work!

I’ve had a messy relationship with my dad. For most of my life, it was good, but there was also a lot of stress and hurt. Now, I’m just tired of it; and I want to stop being in contact. Since we’ve had good parts to our relationship, I feel like I’m grasping at straws to find fault with him so I don’t have to go back to being close to him. I can’t be at peace in a relationship with him anymore.
One thing that has been on my mind is that, when I was a kid, he used to be nude around me. He’d bend over and flash his asshole at me. And we’d play around. We had this game where I’d have to be quick and pull his towel off his waist while he was nude underneath. And he’d also fully lie on top of me (dressed) sometimes while I was in bed. I thought it was fun to see how strong I was that I didn’t get crushed.
I didn’t think normal families did this. I just thought we were a unique family with a special bond, so it wasn’t sexual abuse or anything. But now that I’m a bit older (18), I’m wondering if it was weird.
There were a lot of stuff he did that hurt me over the years. But I don’t know if I have the right to be mad, since he’s been mostly nice to me now. But if he was actually creepy, then I’d feel at peace not having to patch up with him.
