2025.01.18 13:15 Blyat-16 Why was the Japanese invasion of Korea in the 1590s so brutal?
To put it in context, I am well aware that other European endeavors at the time like the English conquest of Ireland, Spanish activities in Americas, or the 30 Years' War were also tremendously brutal, but in this case the Japs sorta seemed to have gone even further with their viciousness by mutilating Koreans and taking their body parts home (which also supposedly goes against Shintoist tradition of respecting corpses but I am not too sure so correct me if I am wrong), and so why was it the case? Admittedly this question may seem painted in light of their WW2 actions so I just wanna know, what motivated the cruelties in this particular instance?

Hi last night my (26F) dismissive avoidant bf (28M) and I had a terrible fight that ended with him yelling that he’s done with me.
The details of the fight are pretty bad and involve verbal abuse and pushing. I am anxiously attached and ended up pushing him to have a conversation with me multiple times through the night which didn’t help things.
Honestly I know he’s not the one for me and I just cannot be in such a hot and cold relationship and have known for a while but Idk what happens that makes it so hard for me to leave.
This time I want it to end for good. But we live together and it doesn’t make sense for me to get a new place as I will be leaving this city to go to uni for my masters in a few months. I want to opt for NC but don’t know how my trauma triggered anxious style will be able to deal with this while out living situation is not sorted.
More than anything I’m ashamed of myself for letting this happen. I am independent, educated and make good money. I have made effort to heal through therapy and self research.
My chest hurts as I go through this. I am devastated with how everything turned out. The events of last night are horrific and involve him pushing me in a bar, being drunk and yelling at me on top of his lungs on the road outside the bar where people were looking and saying a lot of hurtful things including how he has an avenue of women far better than me, calling me a bitch and the biggest mistake he’s made. When he kept asking me to leave and I didn’t (I know I should have I really needed a conversation) he pushed me. The fight started cause I thought he was pushing my friend to dance when they visibly didn’t want to and so I asked him not to make my friend uncomfortable and he flipped.
I need help to get through this successfully this time.
