Hi! I'm trying to decide what to get for my 4.5 year old that wants to learn how to read. She already knows most of her letter sounds. The only ones she doesn't are the ones with multiple sounds, she just knows one sound per letter. Anyway, I watched a video comparing Pinwheels, AAR, and LOE and kind of ruled out LOE because I'm not sure if my kid learns best logically. I am leaning towards Pinwheels bc she's active and it seems like there are a lot of different ideas and extra resources but I hate that it's all PDFs and I need to assemble it myself and it seems like a lot of moving parts to keep organized. I have ADHD AND a two year old daughter that's also going to causing chaos and I'm concerned that it will be overwhelming with all the parts of Pinwheel. I liked that ALL About Reading is neat, visually easy to follow, and open and go, but worry that it might be a bit too bare bones with not enough to do?
TLDR
If you used Pinwheels, did you find it to be overwhelming and too many moving parts?
If you used All About Reading, did you find it to be comprehensive enough with enough for your child to practice or did you find yourself buying supplemental materials?

I’ve been watching some of the archived WSOP ME coverage recently and have been rethinking my approach to all ins in the early levels of MTTs, especially deep stack ones.
i.e starting stacks around 150 BB. You have KK or AA, somebody opens, you 3bet, and they 4bet. Could it be better strategy longterm to flat rather than shoving? or is it better to shove because you’re likely to win the flip and be in a good position for a deep run? I’ve been playing the latter way but am curious about what others think

For anyone looking for a one-by-one Cloze card in Anki, look no further. Together with ChatGPT i have created following Note template. Below the screenshots you find the javascript I used. As soon as Anki checked my upload, i will also link a test-deck.
Disclaimer: It works a bit different than the normal Cloze. The javascript actually just changes the background-color of the hidden text to the same color as the text is. When the text is revealed, it changes the background color back to normal.

2025.01.18 18:39 Aegonblackfyre22 200 hours in and tech research is still one of the most confusing aspects of any strategy game that I have played so far.
 | Can someone help? I'm on turn 86 and since i'm Kush I started with Stonecutting. Never in the 86 years of gameplay have I gotten the ability to research Polis and then Forestry which I could really use by now to start making my Medjay Archers. They are not listed as being ijn the discard pile, but it doesn't matter because I never had a scholar ruler so I can't redraw techs anyway. How exactly am I supposed to go back and grab the techs that I still need? If you see, I have techs that are so advanced so it's not my science flasks that are the problem. This happens in almost every game unless I am lucky, why so much RNG around getting technologies?
