I have been on a decluttering journey for four or five years. Decluttered every room of the house plus the garage. Up to now I must have decluttered hundreds of items. However, I still wasn’t happy with how some of the rooms looked.

So this is what I did this week. I imagined my best friend who hasn’t been at my place for several months comes over. What would her first impression be? Would she see any clutter? I started with the bedroom/office, because I spend the most time there.

The change of perspective worked really well. I noticed clutter that I wouldn’t even have identified as clutter before. Ashamed to say, but in this room alone I counted 18 cluttered spots. A few examples. On one wall there were outdated notes and to do lists. Went straight into the trash. A Disney comic book collection that I owned for years but never had time to read and wasn’t particularly interested in anymore. Why is that even here? Listed on Ebay and sold the next day. A large piece of wood attached to the desk that a router and cables were fixed to two decades ago. No longer needed. Went straight into the trash. A broken laptop and printer. Took them to the recycling center. Some reusable shopping bags hanging on the side of the desk. Took them to the basement where shopping bags are stored. Several rolls of wrapping paper in a corner. Why do I have to look at them every day when I use wrapping paper maybe 10 times a year? Took them to the basement.

Really happy with the result. Bedroom/office looks great. Probably the best it has ever been.

The only downside is that when I thought my decluttering journey is almost finished, I realized I will have to go through every room again with the friend perspective in mind. So more work ahead.

Just finished my 4th play through. Sekiro got much more enjoyable after the first play through since then the fighting really clicks. I've been fencing (épée) for several years long time ago, and Sekiro is the first game which really captures the feeling of fencing with its deflect/counter mechanism.
One reason why I struggled so much in my first play through was my misconception that I need upgraded prosthetics and combat arts to win the fights. Once I realized my mistake and focused on core game play the game got considerably easier. Which brings me back to the topic of this post: Everything using spirit emblems is just for taking shortcuts in the easier fights, and are more or less useless for the proper boss fights (with maybe couple of questionable exceptions).
Prosthetics and emblem using combat arts don't play any significant role in any significant fight. The reason is simple: You run out of spirit emblems long before the fight is over. Even the Ceremonial Tanto and losing half your health gives basically just 1-2 extra hits. And not only emblem using combat arts are limited they are also usually quite slow to use, and very often cause enemy to do counter damage.
Just for fun, now that I finished upgrading all prosthetics I tried Lazulite Sacred Flame against Owl and it was as useless as I thought it would be: Burning all spirit emblems (=6 shots) to it caused measly total of 1/3 of the first health bar damage. And that is supposed to be one of the heaviest hitting prosthetics. All the hard fights are much easier when you forget the prosthetics and focus on the coreography.

I have been wanting to build a gaming PC for a few years now and I finally got some money saved up. I am hoping to spend 2k or less but can go a little over if it comes down to it. I will need everything, PC, monitor, mouse, keyboard and such. I play games like the Fallout series, DayZ, Green Hell, Baluders Gate 3 and Elder Scrolls, Would love a setup that can handle those games with mods and last me for a while before needing to sink a bunch more money into.

2025.01.18 19:00 SaltyAdminBot Theory on the potential "Big Disclosure News" that may be about to take place.

When I should have been asleep last night, my brain decided to start putting puzzle pieces together and here is what I have come up with.
Since November we have had the NJ ""drone" flap along with the sittings in the UK and then extending to other US states and around the world.
In the last couple of months, all the major players in the UAP scene have been increasing their media presence and speaking about a big event soon to come, potentially in January. As time has moved forward, this chatter from the major players feels like it has increased exponentially in the last week or two. Regardless of what you may think of any of them in particular, they all seem to have a lot to say right now.
We have also had several new "Whistle Blowers" come forward recently along with a new one that will release, hopefully, compelling video on News Nation this evening.
The regular podcast scene has been hitting the UAP stuff pretty hard too, with Lue appearing on shows like Smartless and with Don Jr..
Then we can add in the Ecosystemic Futures podcast and the resent revelations discussed there, in particular episode 69 that features Dr. Hal Puthoff. As a side note, I personally think he is a keystone figure in this and if given total immunity, would most likely "spill the beans" so to speak to the Senate and Congress. If you are not familiar with the Ecosystemic Futures podcast, it is geared toward attracting investors to emerging and cutting edge technology and have recently had multiple episodes on the UAP topic. It is not the normal UFO bro type podcast for sure. I believe it was yesterday in an NSF zoom call, that Anna, who also is a host on Ecosystemic Futures, made a comment about something potentially significant happening soon.
Adding to this, several key players, like Lue and Dr. Puthoff have mentioned that they are heading to DC now. Lue also mentioned going to the Vatican to meet with leaders from different religions to discuss this issue and how to help people deal with it.
There has also been a closed hearing for the Senate Select Committee for Intelligence that showed up on their calendar. I believe it was scheduled for midnight on the 20th, that could potentially have just been a place holder time and date, but that remains to be seen. Could Lue, Dr. Puthoff and other key intel members and whistle blowers be briefing them?
We are also about to have a change in the administration, with many of the members of the new administration being pro disclosure.
Rep. Mike Turner has also been removed from his position at the head of the House Intel Committee. I think that is a key indicator of what may be about to happen, out with the old and in with the new.
Lue had written a Presidential Briefing document to express the need for a UAP Czar type of position that could potentially get past the "Gate Keepers" and then be able organize and start some sort of official disclosure procedures. Perhaps Lue with be this Czar.
President Trump has already said the current admin is withholding info on the "drone" flap and will release it, hopefully on day one.
So to me, it sort of looks like there is a coordinated effort by some of the major players and most likely, some players behind the scenes that we don't yet know about, to push disclosure through as quickly as possible once Trump takes office. I think some, if not all of the major tech bros that have donated to Trump and that are part of his inner circle are behind the scenes pushing for this too. Why? Because they want access to the exotic materials for research and commercial exploitation of the tech derived from such materials.
If Trump does allow disclosure, he could also use it as a way to attack the democrats and the outgoing administration for withholding information from the American people. Even though it has been happening through multiple administrations, having someone to blame for the cover ups could be advantageous from a political perspective.
So, as we all try to read the tea leaves and predict what is coming down the line, we can only hope that we actually get real, undeniable proof, evidence, etc of what the government knows. Well maybe at least what they want us to know. While I think the Disclosure Avengers are assembling, I don't think this is endgame, I think they will crack the seal and start a series of increasingly significant disclosures over time. So, perhaps the timing of a new administration will potentially allow of a faster controlled disclosure. Only time will tell, so hurry up and wait I guess. But don't get your hopes up too much either.....
Edit: Just found this thread and they seem to share the same thoughts. Guess they were typing it while I was thinking about it last night. It has a lot of links worth listening to and watching.

We’ll be having an early dinner one day on the weekend with some coworkers while we’re in town and want some drinks after dinner. We don't want to go somewhere that's too loud, and somewhere big enough to seat 5-7 people in a lounge setting so it’s easier to talk, spirit-free drinks options.
Some of the group doesn’t mind breaking off for a tea and dessert place instead, are there any options like that are open later?

I'm not entirely sure this should go here so please excuse me if it doesn't. I'll delete if necessary. I'm venting because talking to the person involved here has repeatedly done me no good.
So, for context I'm F mid 50s and my partner is M, 60. We're both disabled and live on a low, fixed income. We get food stamps monthly but they don't cover the cost of all the food we buy. I do the grocery shopping (mostly delivery) and always ask him if there's anything specific he wants. His answer is either, "surprise me," or, "you know I'll eat anything you make." I generally only cook once a day so I buy convenience foods that he can fix himself like sandwich meat and bread, hot dogs, cans of things he can warm up, etc. The idea is that if he gets hungry before I've cooked dinner, he can make himself something simple. I also buy things that I expect us to share. Those are mostly treat items, but are also just things we both like to eat. When the groceries arrive, I show him the things I got specifically for him, and point out the things that are for both of us. I ask him not to eat things I bought specifically to cook with, and also to be considerate of me with the things for both of us. He nods and says he understands.
Three days ago I made a huge roast in the crock pot. Like 8 pounds. It was so big it almost didn't fit. I told him I planned to divide it in half, making pulled pork for sandwiches from half, and to the other half I'd add vegetables and we would eat it as a pot roast. I put it on low and we went to bed.
The next day I got up and immediately checked the roast. Easily 3/4 of it was gone! I asked him and apparently he'd gotten up in the early morning hungry. Instead of going to the convenience foods I'd bought for him, he sat down and ate several plates of the roast. By the time I got up and went to fix it the way I'd planned there wasn't enough left to divide. So I told him off, added potatoes and carrots, and now have to figure out what to do with the nice rolls I bought for the sandwiches.
He knew my plans for the roast. We had a long talk about it as I was searing and seasoning it to go into the crock pot. Not only did he ruin the plans, but he ate so much that a meal that should have lasted 3-4 days was gone in 1. Remember, we have to be careful how we spend our food budget, as I said above. He does stuff like this all the time, like he's the only one who lives here and has to eat. Like this huge roast in the crock pot magically appeared for him to scarf down like a dog that hasn't eaten in a week. I don't exist, I guess, because he eats like all the food is for him.
I wish I could go out and buy hundreds of dollars worth of snacks and big meals for every week, but we just don't have enough money.
I had also bought 3 containers of ice cream because it went on sale for an ultra-cheap price. We both had some the other day. Well, today I wanted a bowl of ice cream, and I thought there should be plenty. Nope! I opened the freezer and all 3 containers were gone. I got 1 bowl. He ate 2 3/4 containers of ice cream within the same time frame that he hogged most of the roast. We can't buy it often, so when we can I would like to equally share it.
I went and screamed at him, and he understands why I'm angry. He said he had nothing to defend himself. I asked him why he keeps doing this (because this isn't the first time) and he shrugged his shoulders.
I'm at my wits' end. I don't know what to do. Do I have to get another Fridge and put a lock on it? I don't want to be the food dictator, but not only does he not consider me when he goes on his eating binges, but he knows we don't have enough money and food stamps for him to plow through a week's worth of groceries in one day. I bought a half gallon of orange juice in the last shopping order. It didn't last 24 hours, and I had one small glass. I'm tired of having to explain this to him over and over because he's just not listening. Why do I have to be an asshole and yell or hide things?
He is not overweight. We've had the same discussion over and over and over. I'm about to just say f-it, and buy one meal worth of stuff at a time, no goodies, and stand guard over whatever I bought so that maybe I might get to have some too. I'm so far beyond pissed right now that it's not even funny.
What do you do with a selfish, inconsiderate eater?
