Do people really consider what Steve and other YouTubers do "journalism?" This isn't a critique on Steve but on this side of the Internet as a whole.
I've always heard him and others throw around this word and it's never seemed right.
Journalists are meant to not have a bias or vested interest in the work they report on. Otherwise they typically recuse themselves or disclose the bias.
How can Steve be a journalist if he only reports on products and companies he has a direct financial link to by operating in the same space as an influencer?
He's more akin to an affiliate or career whistleblower than a journalist in this regard in my eyes.

2025.01.18 19:39 PiercethaHeavens Anyone have experience with coils as starter locs?
I recently got mines done this week and my research has shown so far that most people do twists or braids as their starters. I know coils can be used, but I'm not seeing that many that chose that route.
Reason I'm inquiring is because I want to schetmt first wash/retwist and I understand that when the hair has been braided or twisted that people will band their hair to prevent bunching. Can the same be done with coils? Also when did you do your first wash? Regardless of which method used to start your journey.

He has a TikTok that he posts pretty frequently on and I couldn’t help it. Every time I look at it I feel sick but I always want to see if he posts about her and this is my last chance.
He made a post like “when you see who your ex is with now after they said they could do better” and I just…ugh. I’m a woman and sometimes my internalized homophobia is like yeah maybe she would be better off with a man. Maybe I’m not right for her and this guy is.
He also made a video about drunk texting his ex. Based off his posts I don’t think he’s over her and it makes me feel so sick.
My brain just won’t stop playing images of them together and it’s like convincing me that she would be happier with him. Or that she belongs with him and she’s only being with me as a fling and eventually she’s going to go back to him. And what if I’m doing something wrong by preventing them from being together? It’s so fucking stupid, I know it’s normal to feel jealous of your partners ex but I just ruined my whole day by doing something I knew I shouldn’t have

For several months now, my partner, u/The_Material_Witness (TMW) and I have been working to verify the whereabouts of George Dalambiras, also known to the music world as "Alvin Dean". George's last known contact in Athens, Greece was believed to be during the early 1990s. Since that time, he and his songs have amassed a cult following - unfortunately, no one knew how to reach him.
Recently, TMW received a credible lead that indicated George might be deceased. Despite the fact this possibility was extremely likely, further investigation was required to make a final confirmation. Since then, we have been placed in contact with several of George's associates who have shared their memories of him and expressed their admiration for his talent and ability.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce George's passing. While this is very sad news, George's legacy has not been forgotten. George's legal heirs had no knowledge about his newfound popularity. He had expressed his frustration with Statues In Motion and its failure, both internally and commercially. Despite this, he never stopped making music. We are currently searching for what includes 20+ hours worth of 1" tapes that he self-produced. He had asked for these songs to be released following his death, however, unforeseen circumstances prevented this at the time. Now, me and TMW have the honor of helping fulfill this wish. Some might say, the success George sought in life, he has now received in death and we know he is looking down smiling.
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of George Dalambiras. May he rest in peace."

To start off, I’m a recent pc gamer and I bought a prebuilt starter pc on amazon so I have no idea what I’m doing. To give a little background, I’ve been playing a lot of marvel rivals but my pc takes forever to boot into the game and I sometimes experience a frozen screen, crash or lag. Someone suggested that I get a better cpu or motherboard but I need help with deciding which one to get and what they specifically do. A month ago I did increase the ram to have 40 GB in total
