It takes me a while to see things sometimes. My tech isn't the best and I'm at a severe awareness disadvantage. 😂 But I just stumbled across a lot of things today and I wanted to say, before I leave for a bit...
Knowing someone has been willing to advocate for me, to stand up for me, especially during some of these recent darkest moments of my life, means more than I can explain. It's been very hard at times in the past couple years, but to then have to go through it all over again... Honestly, it's helped me get through things I don't think I could have otherwise.
It's funny how you see me so clearly, even now, after all this time, when I have no idea what your current situation even looks like at all nor how you've grown. I won't assume I know anything, but I'm proud of you for this. I won't read into things too much though lol; just know I appreciate you. It's good to know that you care, or at the very least you care about injustice. 😅 Ironically.
You have this way with words that’s becoming more and more impressive and at a shockingly rapid pace. You don’t just say things; you capture them. You take all these overwhelming emotions—beauty, pain, love, agony, terror—and turn them into something that feels alive. You distill and refine and you bottle their essence to display for everybody to see. Sometimes it feels like you’re speaking a language I can’t fully understand but I immediately intuitively know I need to hear. You help me order my thoughts.
It’s honestly inspiring. And it’s not just the words themselves; it’s the fact that you care enough to put them out there for me at all. That kind of thoughtfulness isn’t something I expected for lil ol' me. 😔
Thank you for seeing me and for making sure I didn't feel so alone in all of this.

When I first watched the show 15 years ago I just cared for the gore and action. Now that im 35 I can appreciate the humility that came with the show. The pain in the characters and the loses that they endured that I honestly didn’t really care for first time around. After all these years I still tear up at certain characters deaths and struggles. Anyone feels the same way looking back years later?

So usually when I follow a sweater pattern and need to decrease 2 stitches from a row, it's says to
K1, K2tog, K68, SSK, K1
But I am currently trying to make a sweater without a pattern (for the challenge) and when I looked at a knitting decrease calculator online and it's says to
K17, K2tog, K35, SSK, K18
In the first one the decreases are at the ends (but one stitch) of the row. Whereas with the second they are about a quarter of the way in from each side.
Does it make a difference (other than aesthetics) where the decreases are in the row.
And is it the same for increasing?

2025.01.19 00:09 ChrisGnam I got swimmers ear and can't bring myself to get back to swimming now.
I swam for ~10 years in high school and college. I then didn't swim for about 6 years, but picked it back up a few months ago after a new community center pool opened on my street. The facility is beautiful and crazy convenient, so I started going, but after a month I got my first ever case of swimmers ear. The experience was so awful it's difficult to describe. And now I can't bring myself to go swim again.
It feels dumb to react this way over a "simple ear infection", but it was genuinely one of the most painful experiences I've had in my life. I had to take 3 days off of work when it was at its peak because I literally couldn't even think straight. Which, again, sounds so lame to even say.
I swam for 10 years growing up, without any kind of an issue, but now that I've gotten it once I'm terrified of it happening again. And I feel like since I got it after just a few weeks back to swimming, that maybe now that I'm older I'm more susceptible to it or something.
Ive read things like ear plugs, drops, and forgoing flip turns may help. But is any of that a true gaurantee to prevent getting it? Any other steps in can take?
