I leased a car from Dueck (6 year term, $1.00 buy out from my understanding/memory).
6 year term ended in May 2024 (I continued paying $412.05 for the last 8 months) without a new agreement because they never gave me a detailed copy of my lease agreement and I wasn't comfortable signing anything without it. On the phone back in May 2024, the salesman told me I need to come and renew my lease or do a buyout. I thought my payments were done and I only owed $1.00, so this was a shock. He said, no actually my buyout is $5,000. I asked to see proof of this in writing and after asking for 2 months non-stop they never provided me with anything. Am I supposed to take his word for it?
Finally, after months of asking, I was given a front page copy of my lease agreement, which has nothing written on it (no cost of vehicle at time of lease, no buyout value written down, nothing). I told them I wanted a more detailed version, they did not provide me with it.
Yesterday, I was called by someone from the leasing department (for the first time since my lease ended in May 2024). She threatened me and said that since my lease ended in May, all of the payments I've made since then are NOT going towards the value of my vehicle, but rather it is considered as a vehicle "rental" payment. I then went and saw her in person....
In person, she told me the same thing but then she told me that she'll do me a favor and go back and consider the payments since pay as payment towards the balance of my car. But then she tried to get me to sign a 1 year lease for HIGHER monthly payments, which would be another 6k! If my buyout in May was 5k, and my last 8 payments of ($412.05) was going towards my buyout, then why would I owe 6k more? She said it was because of interest and it being a shorter lease term.
She asked me what I should be owing based on my calculations? I told her "I think around $2700 (which was incorrect math, it should be $1700). She said she'd get them to calculate it and come back to me. When she came back, she told me that's the same number they calculated ($2700). This is how I know they're just pulling numbers out of thin air.
Then she told me to get a vehicle inspection done and bring a bank draft on Wednesday for $3700. I was like "wait, why an extra thousand?" she said it's because of taxes and fees. I was like "taxes and fees don't add up to 1k". She said their admin fee was like $500 and it absolutely cannot be waived. I told her I'm not comfortable paying that. She said there's nothing she can do and I'm lucky because it's usually $700. This is ridiculous because they wouldn't even give me my balance owing in writing, so I'm supposed to just TAKE THEIR WORD FOR IT?
I'm being played, very obviously and I don't know what to do!

Planning to make my own, just for the novelty of saying “I made a bone folder.”
Recently, I’ve gotten in contact with someone who can hook me up with some bones. They also offered boar’s tusk, which I’d really prefer to use.

We have recently gotten a little lady who we wish to get spayed when she is old enough. The breeder recommended letting her have one heat cycle before desexing her as it will allow her to fully mature. I’m reading conflicting information on this and there seems to be no right or wrong answer?
We were told by the Vet with our Labrador to wait until he was 12-18 months if we could to allow for bone growth and hip joints to form properly. So I understand for some breeds it is better to wait.

Just a heads up for y'all.
I feel pretty pissed off, this space is suposed to be a healing space for people who are vulnerable and struggling, i don't appreciate karma-farming bots, even if they're insightful.
