I've been having a lot of trouble dealing with the effects of infidelity/cheating. I have been seeing professionals about it but they have not offered much understanding nor help. I was never looking for reassurances, just tools that I can use to move forward in my life.
To give a little back ground; Most of us have been victims of cheating, some even dont know it. But personally I have been more traumatized by the cheating that has happened to those around me, as oppose to the cheaters I dated.
I have both family and friends that had long fruitful relationships, only to have it end due to cheating. The devastation that those people dealt with would have put me in my grave. It did for one acquaintance I knew. Furthermore, one aspect that I can't seem to grasp is how many cheaters seem apathetic about the hurt they had caused. Little remorse, even if the couple had children.
There seems to be a pervasive sense of "life is short, and if an opportunity presents itself, I'll take it."
When I brought these issues, feelings, and concerns to different therapists, Their responses offered little insight.
- "People make mistakes, humans are flawed and complex creatures" ( Well duh)
- "Many great things in life carry risks, love is no different" (Yes but love is an intrinsic part of the human experience, yet all the data seems to point to people being unfulfilled with their partners. divorce rates, adultery rates, hook up culture etc. How can I or anyone else continue to justify the risk)
- " Some people never fully get over their trauma." (Oh great, good to know)
It was not always the case, but now I find it extremely difficult to even attempt to form intimate relationships with the opposite sex because all I can see in my head, is a nameless/faceless person giving them the most enjoyable night of their life while they tell me how I could never satisfy them like they could.

I'm looking at building a bar in my basement and tapping into existing plumbing and vent is proving difficult. Since the sink would hardly be used I'm hoping there's an option to use a 5 gallon water jug and 6 gallon waste bucket. I'm not seeing many options. I see some options for ice makers and coffee makers that produce 40 psi. I'd like something that activates when the sink lever is opened and doesn't require it to be turned on every time. Not sure how to find this or if it even exists. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is this even legal for a basement bar? I do have hot and cold lines available but I don't want to use this option because it would have to drain into a 6 gallon waste bucket and I wouldn't want to risk an overflow and flood.

So with Criminal Minds it's a regular thing that the BAU routinely outright breaks the law in order to catch an UNSUB.
Almost every week Penelope hacks into something like expunged records, private medical records, people's private devices and always without a warrant. As they often joke about them going to jail if this is found out.
Not to mention all the times that they'll kick in a door while despite not having a warrant or probable cause. In fact in one early episode the local cop of the week outright says that she wants them to wait so she can get a warrant and not poison the case.
Elle straight up murders a man, and the BAU goes okay and she's allowed to quit until she comes back.
Now yes. These are often bad people, except when they get the wrong person which happens pretty frequently. But the point is that they're constantly breaking the law.
All it would take is one of them at trial slipping up and saying something like "Well, the UNSUB's childhood therapist stated that they had begun starting fires, and that's what led us to him." and the lawyer pointing out "How'd you access that information? It's supposed to be confidential and legally protected." or some cop of the week coming forward saying that the feds kicked down the door and arrested the wrong man without a warrant. Then suddenly there are dozens if not hundreds of cases that are going to lose huge amounts of evidence and convictions because they just do whatever they want.
Not to mention that they're a team of six people flying around on a private jet. Which seems like an insane waste of resources. Especially when you consider half the time they just pull the UNSUB off the suspect list that the local cops have already put together.
They could easily get a much better result by just having them work remotely assisting the different police departments. AND could help an extra FIVE departments at a time without wasting hours gathering, going over the case, flying there, and then taking control of the local area.

2025.01.19 03:20 JimmyLizzardATDVM We introduced a brother to our 2 year old boy (spoiler - they’re already besties)
Wanted to share some snaps from the introduction of our new little fella and how they’re both getting along so famously after a month. We introduced them properly (ie separate room, over a week with slow progress).
Although our 2 year old (Bowie) has had some extra anxiety, he’s fast learning that he’s still one of our family, that we love him just as much and that he still gets lots of love and attention.
It’s been stressful, but worth it. We tried this 12 months ago, and unfortunately he came to us with some kind of kidney issue that was either not picked up by the vet or was caused by the desexing drugs (which is very rare). We had to send him across the rainbow bridge as recovery was impossible. We drained our savings trying to save him, and I still cry for the boy we never got to fully love and share a life with.
But things have gone so well this time, we have a strong, healthy boy (Franky) who is just a dream. I guess it’s also a reminder that even though we go through painful things, we should keep trying when we’re ready. We finally have the family we always wanted (not having kids).
