2025.01.19 04:20 mega_lova_nia I've played Cyberpunk 2077 and now I'm playing Starfield. Both have taught me that you cannot simply compare games like apples-to-apples.

Before Starfield, I've played and finished Cyberpunk 2077 and It was one of the best rpgs i've ever played. But after trying out Starfield, I've realized that playing this game does not deter me from playing Starfield, in fact I have enjoyed my time so far because it scratches itches that Cyberpunk 2077 does not. It made me realize that people cannot simply compare games and narratives like apples to apples and that people should learn how to appreciate games for what they are. It is true that one game is more cared for than the others which warrants criticism, but seeing a lot of drama surrounding one over the other made me realize that if it weren't for the anime, the masses probably wouldn't flock to Cyberpunk2077 in the first place, which makes a lot of hate towards Starfield more unjustified in my eyes. I do wonder what do you guys think considering you guys have been proponents of this game from day one?

I’ve been exposed to the Divine Office for both the Latin and Byzantine traditions and have altar served for both liturgies. I am canonically Latin, but I love both traditions so much and I want to include both in my prayer life. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do that?

2025.01.19 04:20 qwas12357 BPD and hurdles to recovery

Vital Environmental Factors That Can Prevent Recovery From BPD:
If, as a result of childhood trauma, we have developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or borderline personality disorder (BPD) our post-traumatic environment can have an extremely strong impact upon our chances of recovery. I list some particularly important factors below :
LACK OF SUPPORT FROM FRIENDS, FAMILY AND THE WIDER COMMUNITY / SOCIETY
If we are not provided with such support, but, instead, are shunned and ignored, it is highly likely that our feelings of worthlessness, vulnerability and isolation will be intensified.
Support needs to be non-judgmental, empathic and validating both of our emotional pain and also of our interpretation of how our adverse experiences have affected us.
Also, those providing the support need to be 'emotionally literate' (i.e. able and willing to discuss feelings and emotions in a compassionate and understanding manner)
NOT BEING BELIEVED
Obviously, if people we talk to about our traumatic experiences don't believe what we are saying or believe we are exaggerating the seriousness of what happened to us (or the seriousness of the effect it has had upon us) our psychological condition is likely to be severely aggravated: our lack of self-esteem, sense of despair, sense of worthlessness, sense of unlovability, feelings of isolation and any feelings of anger, bitterness and resentment we may have are all likely to be severely intensified.
SECONDARY VICTIMIZATION
We need to avoid those who would cause us secondary victimization. Secondary victimization occurs when those who ought to be helping us instead harm us further. Indeed, the example of not being believed (see above) is one such form of secondary victimization.
Other examples of secondary victimization include :

On top of these problems, it can, too, be difficult to get professional support:
A recent study carried out by Proctor et al., 2020, has produced further evidence that BPD sufferers frequently find it highly problematic gaining access to effective treatment such as dialectical behaviour therapy, or DBT. (In relation to this problem, you may wish to read my previously published articles: How Malignant Alienation May Impoverish Care BPD Patients Receive.)
Whilst many professional used to believe BPD was typically unresponsive to treatment, this can no longer operate as a feasible excuse as there now exists an increasingly large and growing body of evidence that a substantial proportion of those who have been diagnosed with this extremely serious condition (which is closely linked to severe and protracted, interpersonal, childhood trauma) can be treated effectively, at least to the degree that they no longer fulfil the requisite criteria necessary for the diagnosis of BPD to continue to be applicable.
The authors of the study suggest that difficulty obtaining proper treatment is linked to the continued stigma attaching itself to a BPD diagnosis. However, as sufferers of the condition become increasingly knowledgeable about the illness and of the existence of evidence base therapies like DBT (see above), so too should their confidence assertively to request the opportunity to access such treatment. After all, about one in ten BPD sufferers eventually die by suicide, so the need for such individuals to be offered compassionate, non-judgmental, empathetic and non-discriminatory treatment can hardly be overstated. The treatment of extreme mental pain is just as much of an ethical imperative as is the treatment of extreme physical pain.
The Australian study surveyed 500 patients between 2011 and 2017 and found that those offered appropriate help often waited between a year and a year-and-a-half to receive it. The author of the study pointed out that this not only resulted in unnecessary suffering for the BPD sufferer but also placed extra strain on hospital emergency services (i.e. due to more BPD sufferers reaching crisis point, attempting suicide, self-medicating with dangerous levels of alcohol and/or narcotics, extreme self-harm such as self-cutting and self-burning etc.).
The researchers concluded by emphasizing the importance of health professionals applying NHMRC BPD guidelines in order to support front line services responsible for the welfare of BPD sufferers.

2025.01.19 04:20 PretendAd1382 Proxmox Backup Server for Unraid Qbitorrent App Data Backups

Hello. I am doing research currently in order to create a media server. I have chosen Proxmox as my main server os with a plan to build a Nas on unraid.
I want to create a backup system that properly backups my VMs, CTS, and a app data folder from unraid Nas.
I found the VMs and CTS easy with proxmox backup server, but I am having troubles figuring out the best way to backup app data folders from my unraid Nas.
I don't have much knowledge on the subject (reason I'm doing research now lol) so I would appreciate any advice on the best way to do it. I plan to run the backup on a separate system as well.
Options I've thought of so far:

  1. Running pbs and unraid with lucky backup on a separate proxmox ve server
  2. Creating a unraid VM/ct running luckybackup then use backup pbs to back it up
  3. Running pbs and unraid lucky backup in debian backup server
  4. Running Nas in an unraid VM/ct inside proxmox to use pbs for two proxmox servers
I appreciate any and all feedback. If you need more information from me please let me know. Thanks.

2025.01.19 04:20 barbarelIa Recommendations for First Trip to HK

Traveling to HK in a few weeks will be there for 5 nights. Have a long list of sights to see, was looking for some great local food recommendations (staying in Kowloon but willing to travel around as long as I can get there by transit) that aren't overpriced/bougee. Any kind of dim sum, soup, noodles will make me happy.
Also, looking for nail salon recs, want to get some nice extensions with gel and art. I'd like to spend no more than 950HKD if possible. Want to ensure place is clean and has good artists. Heard about Argyle Centre but was hard to find salons to get in touch with directly.
Thanks in advance!

2025.01.19 04:20 ICUNeedMeRN Help Needed: My Dog’s Obsession with the Backyard is Tearing Him Apart

Hi everyone,
About a year ago, I rescued Zeus, a now 2-year-old, 80lb mixed-breed dog (Pitbull/Lab/Boxer mix) when I was living in Texas. He had a rough start in life—his rescue shelter believed he had been abandoned and fending for himself for a while before I adopted him at 6 months old. He’s super active, extremely stubborn, and has been a challenge to train, but we adore him. He’s a love, truly.
However, over the past month, I’ve become increasingly concerned. We’ve been told he has bilateral ACL (partial) tears. His left leg is actively injured, and his right shows signs of an old, scarred-over injury. Despite his pain, Zeus just won’t stop doing the very things that are causing him more harm, and I’m at a loss.
Here’s the issue: Zeus is hyper-fixated on the backyard—and I mean hyper-fixated. He will sit, frozen like a statue, by the back door - staring up at the doorknob - for hours if I let him, completely ignoring people, or other dogs even. When I come home, he won’t even greet me—he immediately sprints to the backdoor, stands frozen, staring up at the doorknob until I let him out. It’s so bizarre!
We moved into a house with a large backyard a year ago, which you’d think is perfect, but to get to the yard, Zeus has to bolt down two pretty steep flights of stairs. And when he bolts, he SCREAMS like a wild banshee in distress as he barrels down the stairs, then launches himself off the bottom step. My neighbors must think I’m running a slaughter house or something.
Once he’s in the yard, he sprints to the same corner, where he’s dug a little hole by the fence. He’s worn a visible dirt path in the grass from this obsessive routine. I’ll stand watching him from the back door, he’ll sneak back up the stairs, almost prey vs predator-like, I’ll open the door to let him inside, then he bolts down the stairs again, screaming, to repeat the cycle. If I don’t engage with him or let him out fast enough, he sits around whining endlessly.
Initially, I didn’t mind entertaining his outdoor games, but his obsession is now a huge problem because of his injuries. About two months ago, he started limping, and two weeks ago, he completely stopped bearing weight on his back left leg. I took him to the vet, who prescribed Rimadyl and confirmed the ACL tears. They warned me that, given his breed mix and high energy, he’s prone to injuring himself further and may need surgery in the future.
The issue is that even with his injuries, Zeus forgets all about his pain when that back door opens. He bolts down the stairs and right to his corner of the yard. I’ve tried everything to stop him—filling the hole with objects (even his own poop), taking him out on a leash slowly—but nothing works.
I’m desperate for advice. How can I manage his obsession with the backyard, protect his legs from further damage, and redirect this behavior before it’s too late? I love this dog to pieces, and I want to do what’s best for him, but I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle. Any tips, recommendations, or ideas would be so appreciated.
Thank you for reading.
