Skilled music can be rigid and good and stuff, but it has to be fun sometimes. You have to be able to not resist having fun. It's music. You're expressing yourself. And you never express the feeling of fun? You never express leaps in logic musically?
No? Then your music can't be trusted. I can just picture a heaven-tier spa or an ironed button up shirt in my mind. I don't need a perfect piano and euphoric synths to evoke them.

2025.01.19 07:25 Popular-Curve-7839 Some things I've learned from drawing.
I started taking art pretty seriously around 8 or 9 years old, I'm turning 20 soon and want to give some advice I learnt along the way if that's allowed on this sub. But of course with almost every single advice from the internet, take this with a grain of salt.
- You don't need to find your style right now, maybe even ever.
- Pay attention to the way you hold your pencil.
- The fundamentals are actually really important.
- If an idea isn't working, change it.
Some other tips and tricks I've learned:
- Zooming out, like way out of a canvas and looking at your drawing from afar helps with proportions in my experience.
- Studying animation has helped me a lot with flow, movement and story.
- If you don't like lineart, then don't do it. I don't most of the time and it's a lot more freeing.

The whole TikTok ban fiasco, got me thinking. Why should care if China has my data? I stoped using TikTok a while ago, so even if the Chinese were harvesting my data using TikTok they haven’t for a while. But why should I care? What is China going to do, dox me specifically? Send a pipe bomb to my mailbox? Leak my algorithm and interests to a bunch of random people? Same with any country. Who cares if some random person buys my data? The real question is my can’t I sell it myself?

Yesterday I was working in a new place getting to my co-workers, and a guy mentioned
“hey you this guy X and this girl Y, are from T country”
I answered “ohh ok I lived there, do you know what part are they from?”
He said I have no idea.
Context because of my accent they probably know either I’m from there or I live there.
Context, In Spanish you know where you’re because of your accent. There at least like 40 different accents. So that’s why he mentioned that.
But out no where I made this commentary you know what’s funny probably their are from the Amazon, is a huge region but with only 100.000 people living there and most of them are Piaroas or yanomamis, so not too many Caucasian or westerners, it’s not even 0,5% of the population of that country.
Context Because the girl was Caucasian and the guy was creole the creole are people mix race between black, European and Indian, 80% of the country it’s creole. So it was very far fetched for me to guess that.
Context because of it’s very unlikely for anyone of that country to make such RAMDOM commentary.
Context is so far that region, that only rich people who likes nature adventure are the ones who go there. But I got admit is very beautiful it looks like Jurassic Park time stops there 2 million years ago it’s very indescribable.
Anyways today, I saw the X guy, hey I heard you were from T country, he said “yes”.
What part? I ask.
He hesitated, because even if you are from that country you probably would say what? Or like where is that.
And then said I’m from the Amazon. Then ask him if he was from the X city and told him I was there in 2019 before Covid yada yada.
I mean this is not glitch in the matrix but is like synchronicity of the matrix, it’s really odd.
It’s like you’re overseas and someone says oh that guy it’s from US, and you say oh he’s probably from the American Samoa’s or say this guy it’s from Wyoming, without even knowing the guy, and find out you guessed right. It’s like 1 in 1000 chance to be right.

Hi guys, I need a transcriber that can transcribe Filipino-English conversations. So far, I think goodtape is good. Its accurate even with the Filipino convos. Ive tried it before. However, upon reviewing the features of their pro subscription, it says I can transcribe up to 20 hours. Now Im not sure if that means I can only transcribe 20 hours worth of recordings a month or its the limit of each file but I think thats not really enough. Has anyone tried it before? Do you guys have other recs?

My question is to the guardians who, when I point out the shortcomings of the UI and features currently implemented, comment that "it's still early access" or "it's a matter of your skills". Do you think "stressful UI", "ideal lines that do not indicate brake position", "RAMMER AI", etc. do not need improvement? I think optimization and server enhancements should be the top priority, but it is a bit heavy-handed to try to shut down any mention of future-proofing.

2025.01.19 07:24 the_pacman_88 Musk’s remarks and how maybe it is time for us Pakistanis to sit back and reflect.
Elon Musk retweeted/replied to a couple of tweets highlighting how Pakistanis were not the best diaspora when it comes to integrating into societies abroad. As a reaction, people here got furious, declared Elon an anti-Pakistani, said it was propaganda against us, told how the West is always biased against Muslims, etc. Even the Redditors here, who by far are considered the left-most Pakistanis, went berserk and called him and everyone tweeting such facts, names.
While I know the facts Elon retweeted might be doctored, present only one side of the picture, and hide important nuances of the situation, can we really debate the fact that we actually are the worst diaspora to exist? I’m well aware of the overseas Pakistanis doing excellent work as doctors, engineers, etc., but there has to be some truth to what everyone is saying out there. The Middle East and Gulf countries(who are apparently our best friends), Thailand, Turkey, Mainland Europe, etc. all have rigorous and distinctive visa policies when it comes to us.
We have created a nation that thinks in extremes, is greatly orthodoxical, is nostalgic, doesn’t believe in amicable relationships, and always finds a way to cheat, whether in business or daily life. This is what Sushma Swaraj told us some 15 years ago. She told us that we were creating useless people who would only know how to resist, oppose, etc.
The Sharia movements in the UK and Germany, the grooming gangs in the UK, the beggars network in the Middle East, this all can’t be propaganda against us. No one wants to trust us, and why would they? Do our people not cheat at the first chance they get? If you look at any Pakistanis doing business here or abroad, most of them would be cheating at some level.
Then comes the religious vomiting we do everywhere. We need all the rights as a religious group living overseas. We would use loudspeakers for Azan there, but God forbid if a Bhajang is heard in a locality in Lahore, we would burn down the mandir. We would be standing at Big Ben or Times Square (M. Hijab reference), and would openly call Christianity and the Trinity a false concept, but God forbid if someone even asks a question about Islam in Karachi, we all know how that would end. We would love to call an Azan at Westminster or Golden Gate Bridge, but God forbid a non-Muslim does something like that in Multan.
While I totally understand how propaganda works, and how facts can be doctored, I see no reason why the whole world would be conspiring against us. Are we leading the world in any way possible? Are we good at anything? Why would the whole world conspire against the most incompetent people ever? Maybe it is time for us to sit back, take some responsibility, and try to create a generation that could actually offer something to this world. We can’t always declare anything that goes against us as propaganda.
