2025.01.19 03:59 hawkssb04 Looking for an ideal 20-week or 24-week training plan for an Olympic distance triathlon
Full context: I'm not a novice triathlete, but I'm definitely not a veteran or expert. I compete in one or two sprint distance triathlons per year over the past three years, and generally finish in the middle of the pack. I'm 38 years old, about 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds. I plan to be down to about 170-175 pounds by race day. My race isn't until late July, but I want to allow ample time to build up to a distance that is double what I'm accustomed to, and to shed the weight safely. I'm debating if should spend a month working out regularly, but mostly focusing on weight loss, followed by starting a 20-week training plan, OR going straight into a 24-week plan. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Also, running is my poorest leg, by far. Swimming is my strongest, as I generally finish among the top 5-10% with my swim leg times. The swim will also be current-assisted (downriver) in this race. I'm tempted to just take it easy on the swim and prioritizing bike/run in training.

Anyone have recommended dog friendly hotel spots for a mid week getaway? About 2 ish hours from the E. Bay.
Looking for hotels because VRBO/Airbnb are ridiculous in dog fees for urine stench places. they are clearly not using the wild cleaning fees. I went on a ton of road trips since 2020 and have sworn I’ll just go hoteling instead.
We went to Carmel recently and loved how dog friendly it is, open to any other ideas.

While at a unrelated doctor’s appointment a few weeks ago, the doctor made a off handed comment about my sons fontanelle spot. He is 5 months still, open and a small indention but he doesn’t have any signs of dehydration. Has consistent wet/bm diapers, eats regularly and his very happy, energetic guy with normal physical and cognitive development (we meet with a pt, ot and speech therapist monthly). We mentioned we have an upcoming well check this week with our pediatrician and he said “Oh yeah ask her!”. So it doesn’t seem urgent I geuss? But now I’m starting to worry. Is there any concern with having the fontanelle still open at 5months? Why would he bring it up if not? Have tried googling it but no help since he doesn’t have a single dehydration symptom. Is this common for a 5 month old?

Hi all,
I am looking to buy everything I need to make good espresso at home. The machine being the most important piece of equipment to me. I currently have an OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder which hopefully will get me through until I upgrade. I have been debating between two Breville models: Barista Express Impress and the Bambino Plus. Since I already have the OXO grinder I am leaning more towards the Bambino Plus. I am also open to any other machine/tool suggestions. I couldn’t really find any other machines in this price range. Also, after watching endless YouTube videos I think I want to keep the grinder separate from the machine unless someone can convince me otherwise to get an all-in-one as a beginner. I’m really into putting in the effort to perfect science of the whole thing. Any advice/product recommendations would be helpful. Thank you!
