Hi all!! I’m currently 52 days sober from smoking weed!!! However I am still testing positive on all drug tests :’( I was sure it would be gone by now because I’m 5’5 and 115lbs but here we are. I’ve been doing what’s recommended for detoxing — exercise, sweating, and staying hydrated. But literally nothing seems to be working. I had a MEPS physical scheduled for earlier this month but I unfortunately had to reschedule. Has anyone else experienced this?? What more could I do?? This is stressing me soooo bad because I’m trying to get to BMT before the Texas heat sets in :’) Also I’d rather drink a vomit smoothie than pop positive at MEPS. Pls help, anything is appreciated. TIA

Spent half the season listening to lions fans talk about how easy the Vikings schedule was this year and how they weren’t the real deal. Which is ridiculous since we have the same schedule. Then we got our asses kicked last week and I realized they might be right… which also means they aren’t as good as their record reflects either. Quick back story: I (39F) was always attracted more to women growing up, but thought it was just from an artistic standpoint. In HS and college I exclusively drew and painted naked women, claiming the curves made them more beautiful to translate to paper. Then I kept a close circle of friends where all the girls would make out while drunk, so it was normalized. I had lots of threesomes, always being more into the woman than the man. I turn 40 in a few weeks, and have always ended up dating or marrying very sexually selfish (and overall bad for me) men. After being single on purpose to work on myself for 3 years post divorce, I decided I was only going to date women. Then one of my closest friends from middle & HS moved back to town after his divorce and we reconnected. Which included sharing we always had a crush on each other. So in August we started dating and it's proving to be everything I always longed for but never had from a partner emotionally, mentally, and physically. The fun part is he is pan and his closest friends are gay men, so we get each other on a much deeper level than any ex who fetishized my desire for women. We've discussed being open to ENM or something along the same vein in the future because he said he doesn't want me to have to give up being with women if I don't want to. Most days I feel much more queer than I ever realized, despite being in a straight-presenting relationship. But I absolutely adore being in love with him, and love being loved for who I am without exceptions.

I'm unsure if this even makes sense or not, since this is an entirely unique situation I think, and I don't know if this counts. But to cut to the chase, I've been working since 5 (literally on the birthday) in animal welfare. Not farm work, but family work- local rescues and businesses and local animal control.
I did almost everything adults did. Feeding and watering, socializing, advertising and greeting guests while introducing the animals, helping set up and pack up, sorting and applying medicine, cleaning crates and kennels and outside pens, checking for illnesses, etc. When I got older I watched after the other kids there and walked the dogs. I went to every event and the subsequent after-party. I had my own foster puppy at 5-6.
After school whenever I was picked up, I would help at my mother's business, which occurred after my family started volunteering (6-9?). I would do adoption events on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with the charity rescue we started with. I would help every free day I had at the local animal control when my parents began working there (9-13), and even when I was doing so much that they limited my ability to work (not directly in the kennels if both parents were working) I still worked in the dish/crate cleaning room, laundry room, folding and filling litter; even then, I would be asked the odd task from other workers like holding the rats, watching office animals, cleaning pups that needed it. When times got tough and we had to move onto a property with family-friends we made in the business, from ages 10/11-13½, I worked for my room and board as a full-time employee. Wherever I went- whether my parents were employees or my mom was the boss- the staff liked me, and I was treated as an employee compared to other volunteers and lax employees who were older than me.
Thing is that with specific details, it seems kinda worse. I remember seeing and treating gross stuff (parasites, biomatter, wounds); I sniffed the scent and did fecal examinations and pulled out ticks/worms; but I also remember really heartbreaking stuff (euthanasia, animal death and failure to thrive, chronic abuse cases) and dealing with things that made even adults wretch and become distressed over.
I swaddled puppies that would eventually die of parvo virus, witnessed puppies/kittens succumb/directly after the aftermath of accidents or inadequate care- at multiples points, entire litters. I've taken care of animals who would be euthanized or returned to homes that meant certain death, and had my own parents describe to me the state of destruction of animal cases they were sent to. When the shelter went into crisis mode for hoarding cases or disasters, I would be with my parents to take care of them. At one point, foster kittens took my room (they had an enclosure, but it was open), and therefore, after, I couldn't use the bed even when we moved.
I got multiple injuries from animals by accidental scratches and I worked around a lot of chemicals and potentially harmful machinery. I was surrounded by adults all the time, but there were many moments where I was sort of unsupervised by my parents- left to watch other kids or conduct myself responsibly while taking care of things. I remember my parents leaving me with adults who they didn't thoroughly know, among a crowd, or to take care of adopters, or around anxious animals who I was to socialize and soothe. I worked in the elements (heat, rain, wind, cold) and i wasn't taken home by the time it got dark. At times, they forgot to make me breakfast or just got me chips for it. When I complained about working too much or that I wanted a vacation, entertainment or a break, my parents got huffy and passive aggressive at me. I was pressured by a family-friend in my teens to work as a dog groomer- literally given things to study and expected to follow through once their improved facility began running. IDK why because that literally requires school and training with adults.
It definitely had a poor affect on me. For years, I was constantly anxious and very depressed as a child. By the end of every day working I was very exhausted and emotionally drained, and I became misanthropic because of what I'd seen of other humans. After a while, I just...can't cry? I can't have a break down because I can't cry for an extended period, and in general, bad events don't sadden or disgust me to the extent that it affects other people. My direct thought is how to help and a procedure to do so (including emotional support ofc). I became such a workaholic that I would post-pone food or play for work and my own parents scolded me for it. I never felt like I did enough even while I felt myself succumbing to burnout (crashing and burning too). I broke down internally all the time over it. I've never intentionally fallen asleep with the intention of sleeping for the full 8-10. When reading about animal care in children's books appropriate for my age, I felt dissatisfied because I couldn't empathize with the shallow observations- characters wept over euthanasia and animal abuse where I had grown numb and procedural to it. I feel it literally rewired my brain.
So, even disregarding the other stuff, would this be counted as exploitation/abuse? Every time I mention it to some other place, they state it falls under the legal extensions of child labor (it isn't illegal) and therefore legally isn't child abuse, but I still feel so exploited and used all the time. I'm so exhausted.
