Don't be deceived. If Jagex or the notorious, game ruining CEO named Pip is doing what I suspect he's doing, this survey was intentionally stirring the pot to allow for a second "less radical" proposal to be introduced that is still absolutely absurd. In comparison, however, it will seem less radical than the current survey. In response, players may not feel so strongly about these less radical changes, but don't let the dog shit on your shoe. Hold Jagex accountable for their actions. OSRS was built off players leaving en masse when Pip pulled his game ruining tactics, and I refuse to stand by and do nothing if history chooses to repeat itself.

2025.01.19 05:09 begin__again Questions/concerns about withdrawing from my taxable brokerage account
Hi everyone,
I have a taxable brokerage account with Vanguard that I opened back in 2019 as I had excess cash with no immediate spending plans. Since then I have put about $85k in it, split 80% VTSAX and 20% VTIAX. As of today the balance is about $124k.
I am looking at purchasing a house in the next few years and would like to withdraw about $60k to help with the down payment. I was planning on doing this using Vanguard's minimum tax cost basis method. Aside from making sure I have a portion of this set aside to cover capital gains taxes, is there anything else I should be worried about?
I am not invested in VTSAX/VTIAX in any of my other investments. My annual salary is $130k/year, but I max out my 401k and HSA contributions so I don't think I run the risk of exceeding the income limit for Roth IRA contributions, which I already maxed out for the year.

As part of my grieving process, I’m rewatching Twin Peaks for the thousandth time. I had never really thought much about Audrey telling Donna that her dad used to sing to Laura when they’re sitting together at the RR in season 1, episode 3, but this line really stood out to me for some reason on this rewatch.
My initial thoughts lead me to Leland/Bob’s obsession with music and show tunes, but I wonder how this line lands for others? I haven’t watched The Return since it first aired so apologies if there’s some allusion to this there that I’m also missing.

2025.01.19 05:09 Ok-Assist3888 Best way to play Switch in Handheld??? GameSir G8+ VS Nitro Deck/Nitro Deck+/ tricked out 3rd party Joycons/ Plenbo G-case
So there’s a bunch of us playing switch at my house. I think we have 6 total between the kids. I love playing in handheld mode but the Joycons are too small for my hands, even with Hall effect sticks installed and new buttons it’s just tiny for me. So within the household I have gone through a ton of different ways to play a Switch on handheld mode and this new GameSir G8+ is impressive so far. Before I start, I’m not going to do a super detailed breakdown of each device. Just a general overview of how they stacked up in my opinion. VS Nitro Deck and Nitro Deck+: the OG nitro Deck is far superior in my personal opinion because of ergonomics. The sticks being in the (WiiU/Steam Deck) setup in the (Nitro deck+) was an instant turn off. It’s nice, the added feature of docking capabilities is cool, but I would compare the OG to the G8+. Nitro Deck cons: buttons are mushy, and some people complain about the weight. I like it to be a bit heavy so it’s no bother to me. Both controllers have APP support and function very well. If i have to go build quality it’s the Nitro Deck. It’s tough as nails. If it comes to more compatibility and feeling better in the hands I’ll take the G8+. Winner? Hard to say. Both are great and worth the money. If it were for a kid I’d definitely go Nitro Deck, Adult I’d go the other way. VS Hori Split Pad Pro. Cons: I’ve gone through 3 of these over the years. Now I do play a lot but these are a $30ish setup and it shows. It’s not bad by any means but can’t keep up with many of the other options. You basically pay for what you get. Some people I’ve talked to are still rocking the sand ones from years ago. Next is the 3rd party Aliexpress “Pro” Joycons. The Orange (Naruto theme) set is made by IINE. Price is roughly $50 and it hits almost every mark. It’s comfortable, it’s got all the bells and whistles (macros, microswitches in buttons, RBGs, Hall Effect sticks ect) the only letdown with this controller is the build quality. It’s easy to repair luckily, because my son has brought it to me a number of times needing adjustments or replacement buttons/hall sticks. It’s a gamble. They are really nice but for $50 I feel like you can do better. Next: LinYuvo splitpad. For the $30-$50 range this is the one. All the bells n whistles listed on the last controller and a better quality of build. Only gripe is programming the macros buttons is not ideal. You hold the M123or4 then add your inputs, then hold the M button again to lock the macros in. Problem is, if you hold the M buttons too long the controller thinks you are trying to reprogram it. It’s very annoying so I turned them off. Besides that they are great. Last but not least is the Plenbo G-Case. I don’t own the Bluetooth version because of the high price of this one. It’s definitely quality in every way. Sturdy, extra battery packs, it’s dockable in the case, there’s several options for grips which is cool, and it breaks down into a controller nicely. Cons. This is a big one for me. You still have to use the Joycons. Even with mine being modded, I swapped the sticks, added clicky buttons and a dpad. Still too small for my hands. I like it but the GameSir has my vote on this one. So far it’s my favorite next to the original Nitro Deck. What do you prefer or play with? Holler in the comments! Have a great weekend!
