2025.01.19 06:17 multistradivari Anyone else get nervous for the first 5-10 minutes when getting to the range?
I tend to be nervous and jumpy from the loud noises for the first 5 - 10 minutes when I walk up to and set up in my lane. And yes, I wear ear protection! Once I start shooting myself, I settle down and I’m able to zone in on stance and target and I start to relax. Anyone else go through the same nonsense? Been shooting for about a year and go to the (outdoor) range about once a month. Any tips?

Aside from noticing changes like a lower libido, I’ve also found that I’m enjoying things less overall. For example, I used to struggle with binge eating, constantly dealing with overwhelming urges that I frequently gave in to. Now, those urges are completely gone, and binge eating no longer feels appealing in any way. Of course, these changes are definitely positive and I'm finally enjoying life with less anxiety. I’m not complaining at all—just curious about what aspect of the medication might be causing this shift.

Hi there.
I am starting a 7mo lease on Monday as part of a contract to buy (settlement in August).
For now it's going to be a pretty familiar situation where we (me and couple who will take the master br) are splitting rent two ways and bills three ways.
But after settlement this is all new territory for me. I've been looking up tax and whatnot and it seems I will have to declare their rent as income. All cool.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this but.. just wondering if anyone has any random thoughts, whether just advice, or thoughts on the ethics of this situation for me and for this couple with a live-in landlady (me).
If it's relevant, I'm going full povvo mode to pull this off.. having enough to make the deposit in August is going to be a mad struggle. I'm trying not to let it effect them though and I'm going to make sure I get all the furniture etc even if it has to be free or virtually free.
I was hoping to reduce the rent further once I become the owner, but maybe I can't? I haven't fully broken down the costs yet to be honest. I was about to say I don't know what my repaymenta will be but that doesn't change value they receive so it's kind of irrelevant, isn't it.
It's not like they are in a position of extreme hardship or anything. They have just arrived in the country though, fleeing political situation in the US. I really want to keep them as I already like them so much. And yes it would benefit me to have them until at least after settlement, but I'm not TOO worried about having vacancy for a week or three at any point if things don't work out and I need to advertise the room again.
So if there's any mistakes you can see me having the potential of making, post-settlement (or before, I guess) can you please let me know.

Hey yall. My wife and I are mid 30s. After the Lions lost tonight, she started sobbing. She took the loss hard and started using the loss as an allegory to life.
Her job is super stressful, election didn't go the way she wanted, has been diagnosed with a condition that has effected her ability to do the only hobby shes ever known, and has lots of people in her life that...look to her as a source for stability...while not feeling really stable. Had to take the car into the shop, dog needs $1000 worth of work, and Im doing my best, but was laid off in June '24 and I'm basically making enough to keep my normal monthly contributions the same. She's definitely strong but has taken some "life lumps".
Shit is hard. I want to help, but her issues are scaring me away (especially sexually). If I say that to her, she will hide her feelings from me. She already says "you love me, but you're not attracted to me." I feel like she's attacking me when she's sad or drunk.
Before bed she said "If you love me, you'll have sex with me tomorrow afternoon". That type of shit makes me almost like a unich.
I want to do counselling for her, AND us. I think she is breaking mentally. She has always pushed back against it but how do I...make it happen? Also, are there affordable options yall have used?
Thanks. Mind is in about 70 places right now.
