So, this one time, my friends came up with the dumbest but most hilarious plan to prank THE Nitin Gadkari—yeah, the R&T minister himself.
It all started last Diwali, on Laxmi Pujan day. I was heading to my nani’s house because, you know, family vibes. I live in this high-rise apartment with like 20+ floors, and when I got to the parking area, I saw police cars, metal detectors, and bodyguards everywhere. My first thought? “Okay, someone important’s here.” But I didn’t care—I was in a rush. I hopped on my bike and zoomed off to nani’s place.
Fast forward, I’m chilling at nani’s house when my friend (let’s call him Apple for fun) calls me. He’s all hyped, like, “Bro, guess what? Nitin Gadkari is coming to our building to visit his friend on the 11th floor!” Apparently, the guy he’s visiting is super old and can’t really walk.
But here’s where Apple gets that glint in his eye—the kind that screams chaos. He’s like, “Let’s prank him.” His genius idea? When Mr. Gadkari gets into the lift, we’ll stop it at random floors and join him, one by one, pretending to be regular folks. Apple planned to stop it on the 2nd floor, I was supposed to jump in on the 6th, and another friend on the 8th. I’m like, “Bro, what if they don’t let us in?” And Apple, with zero hesitation, goes, “I’ll act like I’ve been waiting forever and say I’m in a rush.”
But wait—what if they tell us to use the other lift? Apple had already thought of that. He roped in his little sister to block the second lift in the basement. This man had a villain arc going on. The plan was bulletproof… or so he thought.
I told him, “This is dumb, but I’m at my nani’s place, so y’all are on your own. Just record it.” He’s like, “Bet.” An hour later, I get a text: “Plan failed 💀.”
The next day, I roll up to Apple’s house like, “So, what happened?” And this is what he tells me: The plan was to stop the lift on the 3rd and 9th floors. But when Mr. Gadkari got in, the lift just zoomed straight to the 11th floor. No stops. Nada. Turns out, the lift operator had turned on “non-stop mode.”
Apple and the crew were livid. They stormed up to the guard, demanding answers. And the guard? Cool as a cucumber, he’s like, “Oh yeah, the non-stop button was broken for months, but we fixed it for Mr. Gadkari’s visit. It’s only for emergencies, but people were abusing it, so we turned it on just for today.”
Bruh. Apple’s master plan got shut down by a button. A BUTTON. To make it worse, his little sister was fuming because she didn’t get the chocolate they promised her for helping. She looked like she was ready to murder someone. So, being the good friend I am, I bought her a chocolate to calm her down.
Actually, I’m glad their plan failed because I’m 100% sure if Apple had ended up in the lift with Mr. Gadkari that day, he would’ve probably asked him, “When will they finish the bypass they’re making?”
Moral of the story? Never let engineering students cook up a plan. They’ll overthink everything and still lose to a button.

Hallo wir renovieren gerade das Kinderzimmer meines Sohnes. Wir wohnen seit drei Jahren in der Wohnung und hatten noch die selbe Tapete an der Wand wie beim Einzug. Jetzt haben wir die Tapete wechseln wollen und trotz nass machen und einweichen lassen kam an einer Wand fast der ganze Putz mit runter. Der ist regelrecht von der Wand gebröckelt. In den anderen renovierten Räumen waren das nur zwei bis drei kleine Stellen, die man leicht wieder verputzen konnte, aber die ist so groß, das wir das selber nicht hinbekommen, die zu schließen, da wir das einfach nicht können.
Ist es jetzt unsere Aufgabe uns drum zu kümmern oder wäre das die Sache des Vermieters? Und wenn der Vermieter zuständig wäre, was kann man sagen, damit das nicht so lange dauert, da wir im Moment alle Möbel im anderen Zimmer lagern und da nicht mal Platz ist unser Bett aufzubauen, schlafen wir zu dritt auf der Couch was für mich als Schwangere im achten Monat aber teils echt unangenehm ist. Für ein paar Tage bis das Zimmer fertig renoviert wäre, wäre das ja in Ordnung gewesen, aber wenn wir jetzt Monate warten müssten geht das nicht.

Ich habe eine Fiktionsbescheinigung erhalten, auf der nur das Kästchen „der Aufenthaltstitel gilt als fortbestehend (§ 81 Abs. 4 AufenthG)“ angekreuzt ist. Diese Bescheinigung ist bis Ende Juli gültig. Ich habe sie allerdings nicht speziell für meine Reise beantragt. Kann ich trotzdem ins Ausland reisen und anschließend wieder einreisen? (Ich habe noch nicht ein Aufenthaltstitel)

I find it very interesting that Tiktok getting banned in the USA does not raise a single question around free speech suppression.
X and Facebook have the worse algorithm when it comes to giving a fair chance for creators to make a living. Also, both companies are known to collect users data just like tiktok does, but somehow, the government is putting the ban in place to "protect users", while Zuck and Elon can operate without any problems.
When other countries try to enforce their law on Facebook or X, the USA goes ballistic on them, and Elon is the first to call out these countries because they are "suppressing free speech" by literally trying to apply their local law.
Why the double standard?
