Originally my motivation was Moomin as that was the whole reason I wanted to learn Finnish. But over time I have started to lose motivation because I have all these clips telling me that Finnish people barley speak to you so what is the Point? I have my dad that is up my back about learning Greek because of our heritage and a trip this year but I am just so overwhelmed as I am expected to also learn French and I just have no idea where to fit Finnish in. I dont wanna stop as I can have a simple conversation in Finnish but I don't see the point in continuing the language. Im stuck and have no idea what to do sorry if this turned into a vent.

I am currently reading "Baba Yaga laid an egg" by Dubravka Ugrešić for a book club and I feel like I lack context to understand the author's views. I hope someone who read this book can help me out. I have three questions: 1) She supposedly left Croatia because of the nationalists who were persecuting her for her views, since she was identifying as a Yugoslav writer, and refused to acknowledge that Croatia, Serbia, etc are fully independent countries. This reminds of those people who feel nostalgic of the Soviet Union for some reason. Please correct me if I am wrong. What might be the reason someone still identifies as Yugoslav? 2) Even though she apparently claims all Balkans should stay united nation, I noticed the tone being quite arrogant and condescending when she describes Bulgarian people. Is that so or am I wrong? 3) Is she actually popular and appreciated in Croatia, or is she more of a Western author who writes for the Western audience? I often read books from different countries that are popular in English translation, but locals despise them or are simply unaware of their existence. I was wondering if this is the case with Dubravka Ugrešić. I would also appreciate recommendations of other Balkan authors.

With February approaching, we are probably getting close to an official announcement of MADEIN's reported February comeback. Till now the posting guidelines on the sub after Gaeun's incident has been this:
1) DO NOT make new discussion posts related to Gaeun's case to the subreddit, discussions should be posted as comments in the megathread. When we get new updates about the case they will be posted separately and added later to the timeline in the megathread.
2) Social media posts from the remaining members of MADEIN are allowed to be posted as long as it's not related to group activities. This rule will be revised constantly with the community as we get more updates.
So, as we promised to revise the rules as more time has passed, we ask the community to give us feedback what kind of content should ou should not be allowed to be posted during the upcoming MADEIN comeback. For now with the rules as we have them what will NOT be posted is:

News updates about the group like when the comeback will be happening and other relevant news will still be posted since I believe a lot of people are here to get information about the girls and not just Gaeun's case, which will still have the megathread pinned and any news about it will still be posted. One thing I would like to know is: do people want to allow updates about their schedules being posted? Like when performances and variety shows appearances will happen but without the performances and episodes being posted here after.
Post in the comments your opinions about the rules and if some or any of it should be changed or added for this comeback. Hi! I got the DeWalt orbital palm sander DCW210 and it has been running good for a couple of years. Now, in the middle of a project it’s acting up. The sander runs fine for a couple of minutes then it shuts off, after a couple on/off tries it runs again for a couple of minutes or seconds in some cases.
What could be the problem? I have no coverage on guarantee left so would be nice if I could fix it. I’ve taken it apart but no obvious issue showed inside.
Could it be the power switch that is worn out or dust inside?

You are all [hopefully] grown adults, and you should make your own financial decisions. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt, but I thought I'll share what I think.
First of all, it's not even inauguration day. I don't think dumping everything they have right here, right now would be smart - because if played long-term, it can become an endless money supply for Trump's team.
It might be a meme coin (arguably, any fiat money or crypto is a meme coin, from a certain point of view), but it now has his name attached to it. It's only been like 3 days, or what? The fact that everyone starts talking about it means it keeps attracting interest. If so, we're just getting started.
I don't believe this will be a Hawk Tuah scenario - at least not in the nearest future... I don't have illusions regarding Trump and the ways he lives his life and conducts his business. Two possible scenarios: either they will sell 80% of what they have right here, right now - and back it up by it being just a meme coin... or this thing is here to stay.

Except Japan. The Co-Prosperity Sphere, even being located at the other side of the world, holds similar foreign policy to Italy and similar ideologies (Japan usually goes PatAut/Natpop in KR). Japan is hostile with Germany, but also hostile with the Third Internationale now that there is a Syndicalist Russia right next to its doorstep.
It is only logical that the Italians would seek an alliance with the Rising Sun, as the only other possible contender, the Entente, normally signs a treaty with the Reichspakt, fulfilling only half of Italy’s ambitions.

Okay, so hear me out on this one:
I'm super new to the Bambu game. I set up my printer literally three days ago and finally replaced my Anycubic Vyper. So I've not built any fanboii-ism towards Bambu, although I'm blown away by the fact that I have been printing for three days without a failure (yet) and without ever needing to use my feeler gauges, calipers, micrometers and whatever else I needed for the Vyper ot produce decent prints.
I was really annoyed by their announcement to lock down their APIs. At first, I thought I was boarding a sinking ship. But then, the fact that they provide their Bambu Connect thingamajig irritated me from the start. Like... why go out of your way to provide some access to their API at all when you want competition out? Politics, PR? Nah, they could lock down their API and just leave some calls like they are now if that was the case. Their Connect-Application is just more maintenance than doing the same thing via the servers. That is what previous lock-out-attempts like the one Reddit has done have pulled. "We need to lock it down for security", but some calls are just left open. So... what if this IS about security?
It's not a good look on Bambu either, but paints a different picutre. So, let's look at this.
I've taken a look at the changes they describe that will be happening to their APIs and even with my hobbyist-skills in networking and IT security, they baffled me. The way they describe the new API-auth-system means that until then, there is almost no verification of anything once you're in. If the servers do not require any form of authentication for single calls, we can deduce that the servers save some sort of session-auth. Provide a legit auth-key, and you are on the guest-list for that account on that machine. Like... you can grab a session token from somewhere and just access people's printers from then on, the data that runs through their cloud, heck, even potentially brick printers and hold them for ransom. And you can do that from anywhere in the world, with huge server-farms or botnets.
That should never have been possible in the first place, of course. Yet, it could explain why they provide the Bambu Connect software. What they are doing is moving all external access to the edge of their cloud. That's where the external access should always have been, of course. Yet, juggling around with OAuth and verfied API-Calls and the like (which again: they should have done in the first place) can of course break things severely.
Now, I didn't really believe that this was the case at first. Because if they wanted to secure stuff, why not transition to a secure way of doing things gradually so OrcaSlicer and such could keep up?
That is when I came upon an article in the Bambu Wiki:

Given that companies usually don't lie about these things, this is bad. So there have been spikes in weird traffic on specific dates, culminating in a ridiculous spike in January. Everything always happened on one date and one date only. This probably means that someone is testing some way of accessing their cloud for not-so-legit purposes. The huge spike in January looks awfully like they succeeded and now try to scale up their approach.
So what if what they are doing isn't about locking out competition, but a frantic attempt to fix an API-implementation that was just incompetent from the start? The network-activity they shared on that article is insanely alarming!
