I am getting nervous because next yeat I will need to renew my mortgage. I currently owe 313k to the bank and have a 2.99% interest.
I will likely renew at 3.5-4%, which generates some extra costs
I therefore decided to throw everything I have into this (i can send to my mortgage around 400$ biweekly)

Hi all, 1st time poster here! We bought an old house in France and have some carpet in the living room. We cannot say for sure when it was redone, but it was in the last 20/30years. I did an asbestos test of the carpet glue residues and it came back negative, but I keep finding this cement-like material. Is this just glue from the old carpet? Thanks all!

Hi all, I didn’t a search and saw plenty of “I got a cat, need advice” sorta posts but none pre-cat. I’m an experienced dog owner and love all animals, but haven’t had one since my last pup passed. Im new to owning cats but have many friends with them.
I now have a new job that requires some travel so I am looking at a cat since they’re a bit more self-sufficient and can be cared for by friends easily when I am away. I’m looking for some pre-adoption advice. I’ve got a couple questions below, but feel free to add your two cents for a newbie! Thx in advance.
Single male early 40s, apartment living. Northern Virginia area
- Kitten vs. adult cat? Should I shy away from kittens to start or is it all good?
- One vs. two. I’ve heard there’s a condition where a solo cat/kitten can really develop bad traits due to lack of a playmate. How true is this and is it worth it to adopt two from the same cat-family/brood/what do you call it?
- I’m a former foster dad for rescue pups and my last dog was a foster fail. I’m fully behind adopting but are there any indicators of a responsible rescue vs. a crappy one? Any advice on that side of things?
- Anything else you think I should know prior to adoption!
