I ain't no pearl-clutching, scary movie hating, fundie, but got-damn do I hate the new Wolf Man commercial.
We're a big sports family and me and my 3.5yo son like to watch all the sports, go to baseball, hockey, and soccer games together, and I swear, it's been playing on every. Single. Streaming sports event I want to watch with him as we run and jump around.
Chiefs vs Texans on ESPN. Wolf Man. Lions vs Commanders on FOX. BOOM Wolf Man. Top Golf League on ESPN+. Wolf Man... Seattle Kraken vs LA Kings on Amazon. WOOOOOLLLLLFFFFFF MAAAAAAN.
I don't need my son to hear "DaDdY wHaT's HaPpEniNg tO YoU??" From a scared little girl as they scream and stab on TV during midday/primetime events.
When I was a kid I rolled my eyes out of their sockets when my mom would turn off the TV during commercials for movies like Scream, or The Ring (and Pokemon too since I grew up in a more conservative religious household, which just added to that feeling lol). So I vowed back then to not be such a wet blanket if I had kids. But, now I'm sitting here, a father, decades later, just questioning my own existence.
Were the scary movie ads the same as when I grew up in the 90s-00s?? I don't know man... But I feel this is the only sub I can vent to and see if there's any other millennial parents out here thinking the same thing.

Currently going into my second year of University in England doing a degree of Construction management. I have the option to either major into building surveying, or quantity surveying. I understand the differences between the two, although have a few questions.
- Do you feel that working as a quantity surveyor is a fulfilling/satisfying job?
- Do you have much interactions with other people around you, or is it more of an isolating office job? And on this topic, do any of you work from home/have the option to?
- What is your average hours worked weekly? Is it long hours and stressful? (Obviously within reason)
- What would you recommend overall to do with your job trajectory/choices if you could tell your past self? Would you still have gone into QS or would you have took a different route (And if so for what reasons)
- Does QS have a bright future ahead of itself in terms of employability and demand?

Buenas, tengo una duda con la gratuidad. Entré a la U en 2019, y cuando rellené el FUAS en 2018 no tenía RSH y mi viejo ganaba buenas lucas, me dieron solo el CAE. Entré a derecho y entre congelar y todo, me salí de la carrera. Ahora voy a estudiar lo que me gusta pero ya no tengo el apoyo de mis viejos. Estoy desde 2022 en RSH de mi abuela, teníamos 40% y de la nada subió a 90%. La razón: soy carga de isapre de mi papá (padrastro) de muy alto valor. Hay un complemento que es para "apagar" el indicador de salud, y es por enfermedad de alto costo (la tengo, y es crónica) así que deberían de modificarme el % nuevamente a 40%. La cosa es, ahora en febrero haré el FUAS y no sé qué tanto tengo que mentir, porque necesito gratuidad si o si. Cuantas Lucas mensuales debo declarar si somos solo 2? Yo trabajé como 10 meses entre 2023 y 2024 en retail, ganaba un moco eso si, tenía pensado en declarar solo eso porque mi abuela no trabaja... así que sería un sueldo de 250-300 dividido en 2. Recomendaciones o algún truco o maña para que me salga?
