On Thursday i replied on a persons comment and she replied back after a few back and forth I checked out her profile and seemed interesting with some common interests so i dmed her. We hit off instantly talking about our interests likes career it was always going well I was getting butterflies feeling. We chatted all day and night long exchange instagram I told her I like her she replied the same.
As we started opening to each other the chats also started nsfw and we were a match there too. Now I had told her I would be going out with my friends yesterday the day before and yesterday she sent me all reels and message which I could not see as I was with friends but when I came back I told her I was with my friends as stated. We then chatted all night. And then when I woke up on the morning I was blocked by her from everywhere. I really thought I had a good connection with her and this happens? What did I do wrong? Why did she do this?

2025.01.19 13:09 Awkward-Sky-5982 Guys i got a couple of questions and pls don't spoil me
Im currently at the end of season 3 when they get for the first time to the basement to be precise. I love it so far and didn't find it anything confusing which i love contrary to jk and other shows where they show u random powers without ever explaining them. I think aot did a really good job in explaining everything, but i still have two questions that i keep thinking about.
My 2 questions: First is if all titans are previously humans that got transformed and that the only way for them to return to human form is to eat a human with titan powers, why didn't the titan that ate eren in season 1 gain his powers?
2nd question: why didn't erens father just continue his mission on his own instead of making his son take it, it wasn't like he was dying or eren was dying and he tried to save him. I just think that he was so close why give it all up and surrender his power and knowledge just to give his son who is clueless the power?

Hello everyone! I've been coming here to read a lot of the posts and responses, but I haven't posted anything myself before. So I thought about making a post about my strategy and getting tips on how to improve it.
Who am I?
35 years old man, working as a data analyst (5 years experience). Single, living in an apartment that I rent. I currently have a salary that I consider quite comfortable : I've earned 53,7 K€ netto last year. This includes everything except the meal vouchers. Being a renter and having no kids, I manage to save a decent amount of money : 33,8 K€ have been invested last year. I've also switched last year to a 90% contract to enjoy life a bit more (estimated loss - about 220€ a month). No car, no pets, no crazy expensive hobbies. My only extravagant expenses are various travels (I spend easily 5K€ a year for those).
My goal
Like most people here, I would like to give myself the opportunity to FIRE. I've estimated that I would need a portfolio of 765K to do it, inflation included, and by considering that my expenses and current situation don't change significantly.
My current portfolio
I'm currently investing in a mix of ETF's and bonds (mainly crowdlending). My current bank is Belfius, and I invest mainly through their platform Re-bel. Although they are not the cheapest broker, it suits my current needs (about 10-15 transactions a year, no need to declare TOB myself). I thought about switching to Degiro or Trade Republic, but I thought it would be a bit more hassle for no significant gains. The crowdlending is done through Ecco Nova.
The current amount of my portfolio (saving account included) is about 70K. Here's the breakdown :
- Savings Accounts (Belfius Fidelity, 2%) : 8,0K€ - Time-deposit account (2,66%) : 1,0K€ - Belgian State Bonds (2,24%) : 1,1K€ - Crowdlending projects (6-8% netto) : 9,5K€ - Amundi MSCI World Information Tech. - UCITS ETF EUR cap : 6,2K€ - Amundi Physical Metals Gold - ETC perpet : 5,6K€ - Amundi S&P 500 - ETF EUR UCITS cap : 15,7K€ - iShares Core Global Aggregate Bond - UCITS ETF EUR Hedge cap : 1,0K€ - iShares Core MSCI World - UCITS ETF USD cap : 20,8 K€ - iShares S&P 500 EUR Hedged - UCITS ETF cap : 1,0K€
The approach is to buy mostly S&P500/MSCI World and hold them on the long term. I'm also buying a World Information Tech to increase the performance, and bonds to decrease the volatility. The Gold ETC was bought for diversification reasons (it seems people tend to buy those when the market isn't performing great).
What I'm thinking about the future
In the near future, I'm thinking about continuing investing by keeping a relatively similar portfolio composition. I would like to slightly increase the weight of my MSCI World/S&P 500 ETF's and slightly decrease the weight of bonds. I might introduce a little bit of cryptos for diversification sake (not more than 5% as I don't want too much volatility). I've also been disappointed in the performance of my Hedged EUR ETF's and I'm thinking about selling those.
In the more distant future, I'm seriously thinking about switching jobs in 1-2 years and to work abroad for 3-4 years (and then come back). I'm thinking about Switzerland (good salaries, no capital gain tax, and proximity to mountains which I love). Hopefully it will give my a short boost to my FIRE journey.
In the long term, I'm still hesitating about buying property. On the one had, buying an apartment on my own will cost a lot, and will require time, money and energy to manage it. On the other hand, it will be easier to FIRE if you don't need to worry about rent. I still haven't reached a decision over it.
What would be your advice ?
What would you advice me to improve my FIRE strategy? Specifically, do you have any advice to improve my portfolio composition? Or any general tips regarding ways to generate revenues according to my current situation? Any tips are welcome !

My sister (38F) and I (35F) have never had a good relationship. She’s always been critical and dismissive of me, and we drifted apart over the years. She has two children (10M, 8F), and recently she and her husband were involved in a serious accident. They’re both okay but have started planning for the worst, and she’s asked me to be the guardian of her kids if something happens to them.
I was taken aback by her request, given our rocky relationship, and told her I wasn’t sure I was the right person. She got upset, saying I was their only family, and it was my duty to step up. I love my nieces and nephews but feel unprepared for such a responsibility, especially given our history.
Now, our family is pressuring me, saying I’m heartless for not agreeing immediately. AITA?

I've had my computer for almost a year now and for the past 2 months or so whenever I turn it on it makes a weird screeching sound and I don't know where it comes from. It stops after a few seconds so idk if it's alarming or not. it also doesn't make a sound if I restart it. Any ide what could be causing this sound?

2025.01.19 13:09 mrsniffles1 FOIA requests helpful? Did you know the helpful materials existed before requesting? How did you estimate the cost you were willing to pay?
I recently made a request that turned back nothing. Now I'm wondering if that was because my cost estimate was too low or if there was really no relevant results from any search. The response did not really indicate specifically.
For those who have had success with these, how have you tailored these requests over time to make them worthwhile?
