I'm 35 years old, and my dad just died Sunday Jan 12 2025. My mom died June 13th 2024, but my whole life I never felt like they ever cared about me. My dad was super abusive, and my mom was a pathological liar. I had a mental breakdown in 2012 when i was 22. My mom had to stay with me in order to be released bc I was on suicide watch. After 1 week of being out, she begged to move in with me bc she couldn't stand my father anymore. I let her, bc I was so alone I figured at least someone would be there to care right? Wrong. That was the moment I started being her caretaker, and for 12.5 years, that's what I did. The last 4 years was the hardest. She got cancer around the time covid happened, and she deteriorated slowly. I was there when she died, choking on her own bile as her heart stopped. My dad didn't really help at all, even with just being there for me, so I cut him off. Now, as of last Sunday, he is dead too.
My family never really cared about me, they mostly used me for money or for their own emotional needs, but their presence was at least the illusion of support. Like I knew it wasn't ever real, but it was something, and I somehow convinced myself something was better than nothing. Now I really am all alone, and all I can think is "I would give anything to have had a caring family, at least I wouldn't have to have mourned my mom alone, and maybe I wouldn't be mourning my dad alone." More than anything I just wish I had someone to hold me and tell me everything is okay. I wish I had a mom or a dad or a grandparent or a sibling who would be able to be here and just hold me so I wasn't alone. I just feel so empty and hollow and forgotten, and I find myself questioning if life will ever get better.
I'm afraid of reaching out to friends bc this last 9 months have been hell, between my mom dying, my relationship ending due to him lying to me, being trapped in a bad financial situation due to that lie, then my father dying. I can't run to my friends with this constant negativity looking for support all the time. They have their own lives, and that would have been unfair. I just don't know where to go or what to do. I just keep praying I don't wake up the next day, bc I'm afraid I'm going to lose even more.

Eu(H) tenho uma amiga aí já faz uns 7 anos mais ou menos, temos 25 anos, e nesses longos anos de amizade já passamos por muita coisa juntos, boas e ruins, então confiança um no outro é praticamente 100%. Puxando pro lado emocional da coisa, nunca rolou nada demais, sempre foi uma parada mais de amigos mesmo, claro, as vezes você bebe e faz uma ou duas coisas que normalmente não rola, mas falando de sexo e ficar por afeto, nunca aconteceu entre a gente. O ponto é, ela acaba saindo com muitas pessoas diferentes, com intenção de curtir, ficar memo e etc. E sendo bem sincero, o padrão dela não é dos mais altos, não me incomoda ela sair, não sinto ciúme, o grande ponto é, nesses anos sempre fui o melhor amigo possível, presente, elogio, mimo, estava do lado dela quando precisava, fiz das tripas coração pra ver essa menina bem, e no fim eu sinto que não sou válido. Tenho muita vontade de pegar ela, mas se em 7 anos, eu sinto q ela nem me considera uma pessoa "namoravel" imagina só tentar ser pagável e rejeitado também. Entendo que pode ser por ela me considerar amigo e iaraiaraiara, mas po se ela falasse algo nesse nível ou tivesse me elogiado alguma vez, já ia melhorar muito essa sensação. Agora mesmo ela tá aqui comigo, bebemos ontem e ela tá dormindo do meu lado ainda, fico no limbo entre ser carinhoso e respeitoso ou tentar levar pro outro lado, mesmo sabendo que se pá não dá em nada.
