2025.01.19 14:06 Aero_Z IKEA LED bulb quality/flicker
Hello
I got many IKEA Tradfri bulbs and it looks like they’re pretty sensitive to voltage fluctuations. When voltage drops or increases due to some heavy appliance like stove or oven cycling then bulbs on that phase flicker once. Same problem with all E27 806lm and E27 1055lm bulbs. No issues with regular IKEA GU10 bulbs. I also bought a regular Philips LED bulb for my desk lamp and it never flickers. Also no issues with the led strips that have a driver that smooths out the voltage. Voltage fluctuations are pretty common and can’t do much about those but is there anything to do regarding the bulbs? Or IKEA is just cheap quality and I should get something else? Philips HUE? I got the Dirigera hub, not sure if I’m able to use HUE bulbs with IKEA dimmers and Dirigera.
Any ideas, suggestions?

Ok so when I suggested that I want to read Tokyo Ghoul in front of some people, some of them told me to not bother because the manga is just being “edgy” for the sake of being “edgy.” However, I wanted to give it a shot and I recently started reading the manga and honestly it’s so freaking good, like it got me hooked and the storyline is so cool. BTW I love the idea of Kaneki being able to drink coffee :D. I have a question though, I kind of like stories that explore complex or dark concepts with depth and emotions, does it get to that point?

Do you know what fps increase I could expect from upgrading my 7700X to a 9800X3D?
RAM: 64GB DDR5-6000 GPU: 3080
4.0 runs pretty smoothly on my system (aside from all the server-related issues), but what FPS increase could I expect? I believe the 7700X performs roughly in the same ballpark as the 5800X3D overall.
Optional: Is there a reason to upgrade the 3080 only for SC atm? I am playing on 3440x1400/144.

"Last Friday I made a nice 50 kilometer bicycle ride in the region. It was a bit cold and windy, but there was a bit of sun and it was dry, so it was quite nice. When planning the route (via Komoot) I always try to pick the roads that are low traffic. In the Netherlands we have a lot of dedicated cycling paths, so I have a lot of routes to choose.
When I was cycling along a canal I was able to reach a decent speed. At the end of the past I approached an intersection. When I braked, I noticed something was wrong. My rear brake made a scraping noise, and the caliper of my front brake no longer returned to its original position after I released the brake. I had to push it back with my finger. The first issue was clearly caused by worn out disc brake pads. The problem of the caliper not returning to the original position was probably caused by dirt in the mechanism. Anyhow, I needed to do some maintenance." - friendlymoose

Firstly, I’m not sure if family / unmarried visa are allowed here but I consider myself their partner. Apologies if it isn’t.
I’m curious if anyone has tried to submit a visa application then has been refused or accepted. Me and my British partner known each other for what seems a short amount of time ten months but where I currently live there is nothing more out here for me if that makes sense. I would rather move over there to be with him and build a life.
He meets the financial requirements of sponsoring me. We have met in person once and he’s coming to visit later this year so we won’t be submitting anything until after that time. I don’t want to be refused and have to wait but friends and himself reassure that we have a chance? I don’t think they fully grasp the reality of getting approved.
Thank you. (I did post in the general UK visa thread but then saw this sub thought I could get a better answer here or advice.) Will answer any questions.
