I’m new here. It’s hard to talk about this stuff but seeing I’m not alone is really helping me. A bit of backstory: I married my high school best friend. We have been friends for 35 years, together for 21. We used to have a great sex life and tons of chemistry. I have always been a sexual woman. Affectionate, etc.
Now it’s been 9 years. He’s gained weight. A lot. Says he has ED but how would I know, he never wants to try. I’m so resentful. When sex stopped it all stopped. Feel like my personality is different. Miss being hugged. Always sad.
My therapist introduced a concept to me called “radical acceptance.” It’s basically where you accept a shit situation so you can lessen your anxiety/anger and live your life. Is this a crock of shit? I’m struggling with it.
And yes I would like to leave but same story. Money, kids, my own poor self esteem, etc.

I work for a non profit organization doing immigration work. I LOVE my job. Great work-life balance, fulfilling, pleasant coworkers whose values I largely agree with. But my wife and I just had our first kid and want to have more. Kids are expensive and I only make $60k per year. I sadly need to consider leaving my job solely to afford these babies.
If you’ve moved from non profit work to for profit work, did you struggle getting into for profit work or was it a smooth transition? How’s work life balance (I know this is largely dependent on the firm)? Did you continue doing humanitarian based immigration or move to family/employment based? How big of a pay increase did you see?

I am currently using a junction box and Polaris connectors to split a 60A circuit for 2 TWCs.
I am considering redoing the installation and getting some advice from the inspector. Before I do that I would like to better understand what using a sub panel requires.
I see sub panels come in different sizes with a different number of slots.
How many amps do I need?
Do I need 2 additional 60A circuit breakers to put in the sub panel? So each TWC will have a dedicated breaker?
How many slots do I need in the panel? Just 2?
Any recommended model? It needs to be surface mounted and as small as possible.

Glass Jars
Glass jars are some of the most popular containers used for candle making. They can withstand temperatures up to 200°F (93°C) before they begin to crack. However, it's important not to pour your hot wax at this temperature to avoid breaking the glass. The key factor with glass jars is the thickness of the glass. Thinner glass can handle less heat before breaking, whereas thicker glass can endure higher temperatures without cracking.
Ceramic Jars
Ceramic jars come in a wide range of colors, while glass jars can also come in different colored stains, we enjoy the tactile feel of a ceramic candle jar in our hands. Ceramic jars can withstand temperatures up to 250°F (121°C). However, it's crucial to ensure the ceramic is of high quality and comes from a reputable supplier. Low-quality ceramic or poorly applied glazes may cause the jar to crack or break. Keep in mind that not all ceramics are made the same—what works for one application may not necessarily work for candle making.
Metal Tins
Metal tins are another common container used in candle making. They can be a more affordable option and are able to withstand higher temperatures—up to 450°F (232°C). However, since metal conducts heat, the tin will become as hot as the temperature of the wax inside. This means you should avoid touching or moving the tin until it has cooled down completely.
Drink-Inspired Candle Jars: Why Safety Comes First
We’ve occasionally spotted people using "candle jars" that are not the safest choice. Although some of these jars are beautiful and their designs can be stunning, we do not recommend using them for candles for a few key reasons—safety being the most important.
There has been a trend of creating candles that resemble popular drinks, with jars designed to look like the drinks themselves. While they may look visually appealing, and even delicious enough to drink, the primary concern is the safety of the glass structure.
For example, we’ve seen espresso martini-inspired candles that look lovely, but the glass structure may not be suitable for candle making. The glass itself can typically withstand only about 160°F (71°C). However, some waxes—such as beeswax—need to be heated to 250°F (121°C) or more. If you accidentally pour hot wax into a jar that can’t handle such high temperatures, the glass could shatter, spilling hot wax everywhere and potentially causing serious damage.
Even if the hot wax doesn’t break the glass immediately, lighting the candle could cause the glass to crack. When the candle is lit, the wax pool temperature can range from 170°F to 190°F (77°C to 88°C), which may exceed the glass’s tolerance, causing it to break if it can only withstand 160°F.
As a general rule, if you use a container like a martini glass for everyday purposes, it is probably not safe for candle making. Also, remember that the thicker the glass, the better. If you find a thick, durable martini glass that’s designed to be candle-safe, it should be suitable for candle making.

Zdravím,
Na začátek asi trochu rant, ale již dlouhou dobu mě frustruje dominance automobilismu v naší metropoli. Faktem je, že máme jeden z nejlepších systémů hromadný dopravy na světě (zdroj). Rozmohl se tu ale nešvar ve formě nepřiměřeně vysokého počtu automobilů na hlavu v Evropě. Praha jich má na hlavu dvakrát než Berlín nebo Vídeň (zdroj). Asi jsme už všichni viděli obrovský americký SUV parkující v úzkých uličkách historických částí města, které pochopitelně nebyly dimenzované na takový nápor. Pravidelně jsme i svědky zablokovaných tramvají, které kvůli jednomu špatně zaparkovanému autu musí přerušit jízdu a cestující jsou nuceni pokračovat pěšky, zatímco situaci řeší odtahová služba. Při pohybu po vnitřním centru často doslova narážíme do zaparkovaných aut zasahujících do chodníků, což jasně ukazuje, že chodci jsou tu druhořadí. Asi nemusím zmiňovat hluk a smog, který zhoršuje kvalitu života ve městě a negativně ovlivňuje zdraví obyvatel.
Je mi jasný, že místní závislost na automobilech má historické a kulturní kořeny. Ve zraněné postkomunistický zemi s nízkým sebevědomím se auta stala symbolem statusu, západního životního stylu a svobody. Dnešní generace boomerů v mocenských pozicích pak výrazně ovlivnila to, aby se infrastruktura města přizpůsobila jejich životnímu stylu. Chci taky zdůraznit, že nemám nic proti autům jako takovým. Jsou to praktické, estetické stroje a plně respektuji, že jsou pro určitou část obyvatel naprostou nezbytností. Je tu ale i velké procento lidí, kteří se můžou pohybovat po městě hromadnou dopravou nebo pěšky.
Zajímá mě tedy, jak můžu jako jedinec přiložit ruku k dílu a podílet se na konkrétních akcích a projektech, případně kam psát a nějak to téma dál rozvíjet. Vím, že je tu AutoMat a pravidelně je sleduju, ale zajímají mě vaše nápady a tipy. Zároveň ocením jakýkoliv další kontext týkající se tohoto tématu a to samozřejmě i od lidí, kteří se mnou nesouhlasí.
