Granddaughter was born very premature. Lived 30 days and died last night. Rest of the family is very religious. I’m atheist. Hundreds of people have been praying for her for the last month. I thought that was nonsense but kept quiet. Now we’ll be bombarded with justifications and more prayer and platitudes. Hate every bit of it.

2 part question. I'm about to embark on my first piece of furniture making. I want t o make a record player cabinet. 1st question, what thickness wood should I shoot for? I'm having a round time finding solid recommendations.
Second. And more importantly. I've ended up with a good amount of 1 1/2 thick rough maple. I do not own a bandsaw. I know thr technique to resaw these on a table saw but will test leave the pieces too thin for my project? It seems like a waste of a bunch of wood if I cannot split these. Any help os greatly appreciated.

2025.01.19 16:25 LunarVGaming Question on color accuracy of the G14 2024 (DCIP-3 NON-HDR mode)
Normally if I put my 2024 in HDR it automatically goes to the DCIP3 color space since well, most HDR movies and media is color graded in DCIP3, nothing weird there. I just wanted to confirm if any other G14 2024 users out here with G-helper have noticed the same thing I have in SDR DCIP3.
In SDR DCIP3, It seems more "green" in tint. When watching media its color accurate but non HDR DCIP3 seems greenish in tint change? Just wanted to confirm and make sure I wasnt going crazy, thanks!

If you were going to shift what time of day you have your lights on/off by one or two hours, would you rob from the "daytime" hours or from when the lights are on?
Said differently- I currently run my lights on from 9a-9p. If I wanted to adjust it to be 8a-8p or 7a-7p, should I turn my lights on 2 hours earlier tomorrow morning (shorting the amount of darkness the plant will receive by 2 hours, just once), or turn the lights off 2 hours sooner tonight, shorting how much light it gets today to only 10 hours, but again, only once.
Which is more/less likely to cause herming type of stress? Or is it the same you think??

2025.01.19 16:25 Countryrootsdb How do I fix this door?
Door is crooked within the jamb. Normally I would sink deeper screws at the top hinge but I don’t have much wood before the faux door adjacent.
I have tried a 1/4” of spacer at the bottom hinge, 1/8” spacer at middle hinge and it made a little difference but the top gap is still big enough to allow wind through.
Any suggestions?

A cyber crime investigation has resulted in a local man being arrested on a child pornography charge. Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation in November 2024 after receiving information that a local internet user had been suspected of uploading a file that contained child sexual abuse material.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a Frederica Street East residence on the morning of Wednesday, January 15. A suspect was arrested and multiple electronic devices were seized.
Ronald Howard WRIGLEY, 73, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography. The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date. Location
