2025.01.19 16:05 No-Decision6191 Should I join The Army or the Air Force if I am considering a job in intel/cyber? How hard is it?
Hello everyone I am a 20 year old old college student who has been considering joining the military for some time now. I have been doing some research and have narrowed it down to either the Army or the Air force since I don’t like being on the water and I wouldn’t feel comfortable being on a boat in the Navy.
I am currently studying for my associates degree in computer science at a community college and should get my degree next year. My entire life I have always been interested in technology and intel which is why I am very much interested in these jobs.
I have done research on both branches and I am conflicted. I know the Army can guarantee your MOS but apparently the QOL is very drastic compared to The Air Force. Is this true even if I pick an Intel MOS?
How hard is it to an intel job in the air force compared to the Army? I also heard that the AIT I would most likely go to is Fort Gordon/Eisenhower which I heard is not a good AIT.
I am talking to both an Air Force and an Army recruiter and I take the practice ASVAB for both this week. I also heard that it takes a lot longer to actually ship out with the air force compared to the Army, some people waiting up to a whole year while the Army can enlist you in a week.
I am not in a rush to ship out but waiting up to a year is pretty long lol. I know everyone recommends the Air Force over the Army but I am just curious on what I should do if I am interested in cybeintel. I will be looking at more jobs I am interested in for both branches especially the Air Force since you have to list 10 jobs you are willing to do.

I (26m) was travelling by metro listening to songs and lost deep in thought by a hundred things going on in my life right now. The zone I was in was broken by a woman about my age snapping her fingers in front of my face. Apparently I was staring at her in a very perverted way but as for me, I didn't even realize I was staring at somebody because I was lost in thought and completely zoned out. I tried explaining it to her but she was having none of it. Tbh I feel disgusted that I made a woman feel that way. Would you have given me the chance to explain myself and trust what I said? I know women go through a lot, but this didn't make me feel good either. And never in my life have I thought I'd make a woman feel uncomfortable like this.

Wife and I are bringing our four kids (14,13,11,10) out from Kansas City. Great Sand Dunes and Great Basin on way. Yosemite for 4-5 nights. Sequoia/King’s Canyon for 3-4 (Pinnacles in there too) and Mesa Verde on way home.
We travel with an Expedition and a 5x8 trailer. Used to long drives and setting up camp. I know getting a site at Yosemite can be bonkers. Looking at being strategic on February 15 to get a spot.
Is Hodgdon Meadow the way to go? Or do we roll the dice with a Pines campground? If we cannot get either, y’all have any recs for BLM or National Forest land? Prefer water (toilet/sink) but understand if vault is only option at that point.
Would also take any info on what you have enjoyed when visiting Yosemite, along with what we really need to know when visiting.

Looking to upgrade my 5600X and 6700XT combo. I play plenty of first person shooters, but I’m starting to enjoy rpgs like BG3 and Elder Scrolls, and I’ve been trying to ray trace in Minecraft. Which combo gives me the most bang for my buck? ($1,200 max for the cpu/gpu combo)
