I've recently become obsessed with the album Paris 1919 by John Cale, I mean obsessed, like listening to it once or twice a day for the last month or so. What would you recommend for other albums that capture a similar vibe? Thinking in terms of the production, lyrics, storytelling.
I've listened to all of the Velvet Underground records, plus a couple of John Cale's other solo albums. Love especially VU+Nico but none of it really has the same vibe as Paris 1919.
Other stuff I like in general, for some direction: The Smiths, Kate Bush, Florence + the Machine (especially Dance Fever). Of David Bowie the only full album I've listened to is Ziggy Stardust, but I'd love a recommendation for where to go next with Bowie. Otherwise my taste leans to the acoustic/folky (Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Drake, Tracy Chapman, Hozier).

Hallo liebe Community,
ich bestelle in letzter Zeit immer mal wieder vor Lieferando und bekomme plötzlich bei jeder Bestellung ein paar Stunden später eine Mail, in der ich zu Feedback dieses Restaurants aufgefordert werde.
Soweit ich weiß muss jede solcher Mails, wenn sie nicht gerade speziell für mich sind oder anderweitig unvermeidbar sind, am Fuße eine Möglichkeit bereitstellen, solche Mails abzubestellen. Ist das daher nicht illegal?
Ich werde dem Kundenservice mal ne Mail schreiben und freundlich bitten das bei mir abzustellen. Aber eigentlich müsste das doch schon per Klick gehen oder nicht?

SRL, one man company. Un singur acționar care e și administrator cu contract de mandat.
In contractul de mandat scrie că administratorul se ocupa de companie. Ok, asta sa zicem e o ora pe zi.
Dar cine lucrează pentru client? Tot administratorul, dar nu e funcția lui nu?
Nu ar trebui sa fie încă un angajat sau cineva care prestează serviciile? Că nu poate SRL sa presteze servicii singură, fara oameni, nu?
Adică, cat e de legal că eu scriu cod pentru client fiind acționar și administrator cu contract de mandat? Trebuie de specificat in contract și atribuția dată?

2025.01.19 16:50 mikeyyy_27 Reccomendations for classic rock and heavy metal bass tones?
I'm playing the bass for a gig in a few months and the lineup consist mostly of classic rock songs (Genesis, Deep Purple,, Gary Moore, Foo Fghters...) as well as a few heavy bangers (Metallica, Dio, Iron Maiden...)
I want to have at least 2 presets, one for each "group" of songs, but I'm very new to the Stomp and I don't really know what to use or what to prioritize in each genre (I'm very lost with Cliff's tone in the early Metallica records)
So, any help on building a solid sound for those two genres of music? Thanks in advance!

hi, I am currently hovering over the buy button on steam for payday 2 (just the base game) as I can not afford the DLC, will I get shamed for using one (kicked out of lobbies, etc) I heard it might label me as a cheater, does that change much?
I am only asking as I have heard a lot of heists and guns are locked behind the DLC, so I do not want to buy the game if I can not make the most of it without DLC

I haven't played in quite a while now but I keep up with the state of the game and frequently catch up on what's going on, and this one kinda left me stunned and certain my decision to step away was the right one.
Nerfing Pathfinder seems like a sure way to alienate a large part of your player base for little to no balance. Pathy isn't an overly strong legend, he excels at one thing, mobility, which they just nerfed. So now what, he's just a giant hit box for no trade off?
Why would they nerf one of the most loved legends especially at a time when the game is struggling to retain players? Makes little to no sense to just nerf fun for the sake of doing so. He had a high pick rate cause he was fun to play, not because he was overly busted.
Respawn showing they have no clue whatsoever.

Hey everyone,
I’ve been using Facebook groups for the past couple of years to check mountain bike trail conditions across the Front Range and other areas in Colorado (and even nearby states). These groups have been great for crowdsourcing info about closures, muddy trails, and where to ride.
However, with recent events surrounding Meta (Mark Zuckerberg removing fact-checking from Meta apps and lobbying Congress to ban TikTok), I’m planning to delete Facebook and other Meta-owned apps in protest. But I’ll lose access to the trail info I’ve been relying on.
Would it make sense to start crowdsourcing trail conditions here on coloradoMTB? We already have a great community, and it could be as simple as riders sharing updates after their rides or posting alerts about muddy or closed trails.

If you help Wyll get out of his pact, I think he should have become a bard instead of a ranger. YES I know that a ranger would be a natural continuity for a monster hunter, but hear me out:
- We already have Minsc as a ranger character, while the party is entirely bardless (except for a potential player character, and Alfira that one time)
- Wyll is already a charisma based class, it’s a natural transfer of his skills.
- He’s the only character who is CANONICALLY versed in dance. He also has a conversation with the MC in the early game about how you should take cautionary tales seriously. He has respect for the craft.
- Wyll being a Folk Hero already gives him a public persona. Even in his Duke ending, he’s a public figure who could leverage his position to give a voice to the people, which is what bards value.
- He’s a romantic; I don’t think this one needs explaining.
- Bards are an extremely strong class; he wouldn’t sacrifice his martial combat skills in becoming one, especially if he became a swords bard (one of the best subclasses in the game, imo)
