I’m wrapping up a contract tomorrow with a company I joined three months ago, and honestly, this experience has been a wake-up call. I’ve worked with startups for years, but what I saw here blew my mind and not in a good way.
The founder, the person who started this company from scratch, owns less than 30% of their business now. They’ve taken on so many funding rounds that investors pretty much run the show. At first, I didn’t think much of it. Founders dilute it’s part of the game, right? But the deeper I got into the work, the more obvious it became how bad the situation was.
The founder had almost no say in key decisions. Everything had to go through the board, which was packed with investors chasing short-term returns. I’d bring up ideas to improve retention or scale sustainably, and they’d get shot down because they weren’t “sexy” enough to boost the valuation for the next round. It was infuriating.
The tipping point? I sat in a meeting where an investor literally dismissed a retention strategy that could have kept users around longer because “it doesn’t look good in a pitch deck.” At that moment, I realized I wasn’t working to grow the company I was working to make the numbers look good for someone else’s payday.
What made it worse is that the founder didn’t even push back. They couldn’t. With such a small stake, they had no leverage. And honestly, I don’t blame them. They’ve been diluted so far down they’re basically just a highly-paid employee in their own company.
I’ve been around long enough to know that when the person with the vision isn’t driving the ship, the whole thing’s on borrowed time. I don’t want to be part of that, so I’m out.
If you’re a founder, ask yourself: Is it really worth it to give up control of your company to raise money? Because once you lose it, you might never get it back.

Hi All,
I did a renovation of my bathroom last week and I really like the results. Only the ceiling needs to be painted and it should be done. But I feel like I'm still missing some things. The main thing would be extra storage space. I was thinking about placing two half height cabinets on the empty wall next to the vanity unit, in the same wood finish but I'm not sure if it would look good. the dimension would be depth 27cm, width 35cm and 85cm tall.
I'm also thinking about a white bathmat in front of the vanity unit, a towel holder to the right on the short wall, and maybe a small wooden bench in the corner across the shower.
I would like to hear ideas and input from you all. Its not easy as a single guy to figure everything out and its all expensive haha. I'm worried to buy the wrong things.

hi, i just bought an asus vivobook S 14 with lunar lake CPU, and when i tried to charge it using my UGREEN Nexode 100W charger, it didn't charge at all, i bought so i can charge all my devices at the same time, i know it reduce output when all devices are connected so i tried with the laptop only, it pluged in then pluged out (windows music tone), then it displayed a message saying the battery is charging slowly, then it did it again and the message came back.
the charged support PD and the laptop as well, is there a solution to the problem, or must i use the laptop charger that came in the box with it?.

I've struggled with bad posture my whole life, and now I’m determined to fix it. What are the best ways to improve my posture? Is there a name for this condition or just bad posture? I’ve tried posture-correcting belts, but they didn’t work for me. When I try to have a normal posture (like in picture 2) my back starts hurting and gets tired after a few minutes.
