I was strapping our 6 month old into her car seat and I noticed the car seat straps were twisted. I did kind of put the blame on my husband since he was the last one to use the car seat. I said “the car seat straps are twisted” and he responded with “they were like that when I put her in there”. Well, my first response was to think that he had left them twisted and not bothered to fix them. So I said “we need to make sure we untwist the straps because it’s not safe. Car seat safety is really important to me”. And he responded with “she’s fine”. He said he didn’t need me to lecture him on what to do. A lot of what I say is met with this kind of response. I just feel so invalidated. I feel so hopeless because this happens all the time, and I don’t feel like I should ever say anything or voice my opinion. He told me that I worry too much and that he’s not going to give me a good response any time he thinks I’m being irrational and worrying too much. I told him that I just want to feel heard but he doesn’t care. He thinks he’s doing me a favor by shutting down my worry. Am I in the wrong? I know I was wrong for initially placing the blame on him. Am I making a big deal out of this and should I just let it go when he tells me things like “you’re fine”? How do I deal with this situation in a good way and communicate my needs and listen to him without causing a fight?

Who’s the guy the team can rally around after a tough loss, the guy that can motivate the team even if they are down by 20 at half. The guy that will pick each player up to do 110% more. The guy that despite facing impossible odds can still be cocky and feel like we can win no matter what?
I don’t see one anymore on the team, almost like we are entering and leaving the field with our heads down. Instead of bringing the team up, the players start a blame game and there’s internal conflict. It’s sad to see.

i saw a post talking about how watching hannibal in his fancy suits and perfectly tailored vests makes us question how well we really dress, and honestly, seeing him with his flawless hair, designer suits, and perfectly pressed shirts really made me look at my closet full of wrinkled jeans and band tees like, "oh my god i look like jesse pinkman."
but there’s something else that this bastard manages to do ever since i saw his dishes with fancy names like “late-harvest vidal sauce with fresh and dried figs” or whatever, i started feeling guilty for using jarred sauce to make my simple spaghetti… and i used to feel proud just for making my own salad dressing.
honestly, every time i’m too lazy to cook and sit there eating my instant ramen, i can’t help but think of how hannibal would look at my plate with utter disgust. guys, even his chicken soup is fancier than mine... 😭

Some of us sweat a lot. I personally love seeing drenched people on the dance floor, and yet, I feel very self-conscious about my own contribution to local humidity. Over the years, I've developed some ways forward. Recently, I've had a bit of a breakthrough, and wanted to share and see what other people are doing.
Here's my sweat tech stack:
fishnet sleeveless shirt as base layer sleeveless athletic top (not cotton) over the net shirt bandana in my pocket or wrapped on my wrist to sop up whatever's pooling up on my face and neck
The fishnet undertop takes up most of the sweat and has enough air exposure to allow evaporation. The sleeveless athletic shirt keeps most of the sweat in the net shirt from seeping into whatever I'm wearing over it.
This setup has allowed me to dress up more when I want to, without getting my nice stuff soaked. Also, I can look hot in a net shirt at some point, if that's the way things go.
Anyway, I'd love to hear other people's approaches!

(Late 20s F) I was born without one lobe of my thyroid and was diagnosed at 8 with hashimotos. I am wondering if anyone else out there was born without a lobe and still has consistent issues with their thyroid. (eg., Exhaustion, loss of hair, brital nails, stomach issues, and swelling of thyroid) I got confirmation from my endocrinologist finally that not much can be done for my case so wanted to see if others out there have the same condition and are in the same boat.

The Magi should have either come from the west to the star from the east, or the star should have been in the west; or perhaps something else is meant. Please explain. —Yuri For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him (Mt. 2:2). The question arose because of a syntactical particularity of the citation. The word east relates not to the star, but to the magi: For we have seen his star [located] in the east, and are come to worship him. The star was not an astronomical phenomenon, but an “invisible power, which took the form of a star” (St. John Chrysostom), “a divine and angelic power, which appeared in the image of a star” (Blessed Theophylact). St. John cites the following concepts in support of this: 1. Its path was not ordinary: it moved from the north to the noon (the south). It led the magi from Jerusalem to Bethlehem, which is located further south. 2. It appears not at night, but during the day. At night, the star was not seen. 3. The star appears, then hides, and then appears again. 4. The star shows the place not from the heights, but descends to it; an ordinary star cannot show such a place as a manger. In Western tradition there is even mention of them being consecrated bishops at the hands of the Apostle Thomas.
