I've listened to the feminists, I even attended one of the most liberal schools in the US at one point. I've seen what the arguments are on the ground. I've also listened to our sheiks, imams, and scholars, those that avoid the topic and those that tackle it head on.
In general, I think some of today's women are both a product of Western feminism, which has unhealthy and sinister roots itself, and also, they are often children of immigrants, and some have seen their mothers mistreated in their specific culture. They may associate it with Islam, wrongly, but the effect is there. Of course, any injustice is wrong, and as Muslims we should be the first to mete out justice or at least speak against it.
The pendulum has swung too far the other way though, I hope Muslim women read this. Feminism has resulted in the loss of the meaning of femininity. Of course we've known the Muslim husband beating his wife and of course that is wrong. But if you see that, then you can also call out the Muslim wife who seeks revenge for a divorce by taking more than Islam prescribes in alimony, restricting access to his kids, or false accusation/wrongful imprisonment. If you have any humanity in you, please look up the Muslim Fathers Support Forum in the UK. This is also so wrong, and such a betrayal, and so against Islam. I ask Muslim women, shame and call these individuals out.
I've seen prominent speakers say, some women are this way today because some men are no longer traditional men. But we all have our own agency. We have free will and choice. If you blame men, then where is your personal accountability? I agree, some men need to increase their masculinity, but look what that word triggers? Can you say masculinity without thinking "toxic". It becomes a chicken and egg problem. In general, men should become more masculine and women more feminine, in the way Islam prescribes.
A few things have resulted in men and women not 'needing each other anymore' and it may just get worse.
-Economic constraints. Some good men can't provide 'enough' to attract women, when an $60k salary is considered poor in the West. There are also unrealistic beauty standards propagated by social media. This is where hijab and lowering the gaze come in.
-Police officers, grocery stores, the almighty dollar. If a women feels unsafe, call 911, if she needs provision, it is readily available. Leaky sink, call a repairman. The man's role has been sold out. Education can be obtained, often on riba-based loans, that means almost any man or woman can get a degree and provide for themselves.
-Corn, AI bots etc. Both men and women can fall prey to this and essentially satisfy their needs for as long as it takes. Maybe they may never marry.
-Taking Western law over Islamic law, particularly when it favors you.
I think it is so clear, that if all follow Islam, what the Quran and Sunnah inform us with, not what we desire, we don't mend Islam to our desires, we would all be better off. What better way of life than from Al-Khaliq himself? Think of all the ways the rules and prohibitions of Islam would make things work better - so don't see them as 'restrictive'. We will never win trying to supplant divine law with manmade laws. Why seek the approval of those that would sell us out for peanuts? Men and women need to see shaitan, dunya, nafs for what it is. We need our Islam more than ever today.

We have a suite at a hotel on the Strip and are looking to hire one or two poker dealers, plus a bartender, for a private game. I don’t anticipate any issues finding a bartender, but how challenging is it to hire a poker dealer for an in-suite game?
I’ve heard it’s possible to arrange private games in poker rooms, but we’d prefer to host it in our suite and are willing to pay the dealer’s fee. Ideally, the dealers could also provide a poker set and an extra table. Any recommendations?

…I’m confident Dougie is Coop, with all his angst and baggage gone. A fresh start. He gets to complete the mission (or try), but he makes a cheeky backup before departing; he gives us the bright, classic Cooper back with a new life - something he wanted with Annie.
Anyway, there’s nothing to contradict this idea, and it makes me deliriously happy, so I wanted to share it. :)

My cousin finally got placed a few days back, after much struggle (Mumbai Campus). She is almost on the verge of completing her graduation. Great news for all of us. However, she has spent a total of approx 37.5 (lacs) all inclusive and has received a CTC of 17 lpa. She rented a 2bhk flat in Andheri with her friends. She used to come home (Noida) twice every year on festivals. She is not a party animal like most Mumbaikars and she used to go out with friends, only once in a while. Is it a good ROI ? Should we celebrate ?

I had to call the 800 number last week and before the rep transferred me she asked if I wanted to set up a PIN number to protect my direct deposit from unauthorized changes. I told her that it was probably a good idea, and she told me that she had to set up the 6 security question, which I had to answer correctly in 3 tries.
Her first question was “give me the bank account number for your current direct deposit”. I gave her the last 4 of the account number, and she told me she needed the full account number. That sent up a red flag, because she already has all of my identifying information. I told her “I prefer not to give the full account number” and she said without it she couldn’t proceed. I told her that was fine and I would pass.
I work with IT security daily, and what she wanted to do is a big no-no. If this is something that is available, why can’t I just set it up myself online? Anyone else do this?

Genuine question… I go to a lower T14 and just got grades back. GPA ended up being 3.6high, with only one B, the rest being A’s or A-‘s. However, the school curves 1L classes to a B+, so I know I’m probably not within the top 20% or anything like that.
Do I have a shot at being a summer associate even with that B? Even not being at the very top of the class?

I woke up this morning to find that my microsoft account has been hacked. The good news is I don't have a outlook so my email and other accounts are safe. I downloaded a password manager to change all passwords and enabled 2fa on everything. I cancelled my credit card on the account as well. The bad news is I lost all my xbox games and data
I just filled up the account recovery form (need to wait 24 hours for a response) and I got a security key, but I can't use it since BOTH the email and password were changed. I tried logging into my account via xbox, my phone, edge to no avail. My microsoft account is still shown in my settings > accounts on the computer. I logged out of everything and did a scan and no threats were found. Should I remove my microsoft account from my PC? Using my phone to be safe as I write this.
