2025.01.19 20:42 Daybreakclown Unable to stay asleep

For the last two weeks I have been completely unable to stay asleep, waking up 3-5 hours after sleeping and being completely unable to fall asleep. Initially falling asleep isn’t difficult but once I’m up I oddly feel more rested than I did before on 8-10 hour naps. Despite this I don’t feel tired physically or mentally(though I’ve been getting eye bags), even after intensive workouts or long shifts, however I’m worried that in the long term this can cause cognitive problems. I am unable to schedule a doctors appt atm so I’m hoping so see some advice from anyone with similar experience to this or a clue as to what could be going on

WowGo 2s won’t start up. Last year, I bought a used Wowgo 2S as my first e-board to see if this is something I really wanted and would like to ride.
The first month or so went by easy. Although it has shitty battery time, it did work as intended and I loved it and knew I wanted more of it.
And then it happened. One day, it just died. I tried letting it dry up since it had become a little wet but that didn’t work. I then tried to open it up and clean it out, disconnecting all cables and again, letting it dry out.
2 weeks went by and still nothing.
It would turn on when I had the charger in but as soon as I took that one away, it died. I checked through all the wires and ultimately found that a pin was missing in the ESU.
I then bought a new ECU and never really put it in since I wasn’t really bothered by it at that time and because I also went ahead and bought an Exway who had far better reputation.
However. Today I did put in the new ECU. I connected everything and.. still nothing. It won’t even start. I put the charger in and I think the battery still have a charge but honestly, I don’t know since I can’t tell.
What am I supposed to do? Anyone got any tips? I’m letting the charger be in for a couple of hours now to see if that’ll do any difference but honestly, this is bullshit. The new ECU cost like a hundred dollars and to not even be able to use this board is beyond.. what is this crap?!

Concerns with budgies interacting with a guinea pigs environment? My budgies have started to love hanging out around our pig. They like to get her wound up and jumping around. With this, they also like to forage through her enclosure, which is open top.
All that’s in the enclosure is Timmothy hay and guinea pig poop.
Any reason I should not be letting them play around in there?

2025.01.19 20:42 DonCannon247 Just lost a six figure job and got hospitalized due to drinking but still can't bring myself to quit. Any advice?

My struggle with alcohol has been a very long one over the past 16 or so years. As soon as I hit college the binge drinking started...ended up having to transfer colleges. For most of my 20s I actually stayed away from the party crowd, but every time I drank it was more than I intended. Ruined a few relationships, but stayed out of trouble for the most part.
Towards the end of my 20s I finally started earning enough to feel like I could live the fast life a bit. Got into the wrong crowd and this is when my drinking took a turn for the worse as I started doing hard drugs as well. Over the next three years my life became a blur of weekly benders, car accidents (thankfully no one else was involved), and constant financial issues. By the time it was over my income dwindled to a fraction of what it once was and I needed my parents help to avoid eviction.
Finally got fed up, got sober, and found a job paying six figures. I had a goal in mind of staying sober for one year...I thought everything would be better after that. Never intended on quitting forever, I just wanted to get it under control. The whole time I fantasized about my next drink or ways to "responsibly" re-integrate alcohol into my life. Life felt miserable and boring for that whole year since I had no social life without alcohol.
As soon as I passed my one year of sobriety I hit the bar again the following week. This time it didn't take three years to ruin my life. Went out to drink again on a week night about a month or so later and missed work for two days. Didn't take long for me to develop a pattern of missing random work days. This all culminated in arguably the worst bender I've ever had. I got drunk on a weeknight and ended up missing work 2 days in a row. Got told I'd be fired if it happened again, then passed out at the wheel while trying to go into work. After that happened I went bonkers. Think I slept at one point but upon waking up I decided to drink till I dropped and had enough drugs to keep it going. I ended up having a terrible fall that could have left me paralyzed or dead. Thankfully, I escaped with a broken hip that I'll be able to recover from within a month or two. This required surgery and a 1 month stay in the hospital...which was brutal.
Despite this, I'm still not ready to give it up for life...which is scary to me. It has been synonymous with a good time and I just can't see a life without it. I find myself hesitant to join AA, because I feel like I haven't had my last drink yet. Struggling to commit to a lifetime without alcohol.
How did you find the strength to give up alcohol despite all of the turmoil it's caused?
